I love you already! 😊 What a great first video, I love your vibe, your colours, your choice of patterns and yarns… Riiiiight up my alley ❤ And what a fun coincidence that I ordered last night some Knitting for Olive Pure Silk, for the first time ever, so your tips on stretched stitches was bang on. I’ll be looking out for that, so thank you! I’m also an oversized jumper girl (actually knit two Sweaters no 8 last winter), and have never been attracted to summer knits, but this year I decided I would give it a try and will be starting on Camisole no 9 as soon as I receive the silk yarn. So… first summer knit and first time with silk 🤗 I’ve just finished a granny stripe cover for my water bottle and am crocheting a case for my power bank; small and quick projects for my commute to work. Look forward to seeing more of you in the future, and enjoy summer in beautiful Portugal! Love from Paris x
Your comment made my day! Bless you, you are so sweet 🥰Ohhh you will LOVE the camisole no 9 - I'm glad you're starting off with such a classic piece. The neckline can be a bit time-consuming but it's totally worth it in the end - hopefully it wont be necessary to use the tip on stretched stitches for it. I haven't knitted the sweater no 8 but it's been on my wish list for so long - the fact that you've done two of them gives me confirmation I need to add it to my autumn queue. Thank you so much for your kindness 🤍 Happy knitting and enjoy summer in Paris x
hi from ireland. i realise my comment is d e l a y e d, but I only just discovered your podcast today! you’re so fun and you’re so relaxed all at the same time (i watched all three videos in one go). i know exactly what you mean about summer knits and I think that you are so brave to create a first knitting pattern. i knit my first summer pattern (audrey top by petite knit) last summer. however, because I used a merino / silk yarn it didn’t seem any different to my other knits. i have just completed a crochet pattern (rose by marie wallin) using egyptian cotton and a 2,5 mm hook. it really was a challenge in tenacity but i loved the process. now i am knitting a top in pure linen (kuutar sari nordlund). i find it very exciting and a sort of wakeful knitting experience with these summer fibres. i am looking forward to trying out the pure silk next. good luck with your pattern & your podcast! pia
Thank you so much for taking the time to write this nice comment Patricia. It means a lot to hear you enjoyed my videos, its definitely out of my comfort zone but its been lovely chatting with fellow knitters in the comment section. Making a top on a 2.5 hook is such an achievement, well done! I'm not sure I'd have the patience to do that - 3.5mm with the pure silk was the smallest needle size I've done and it was sort of traumatising - although I was very pleased with the result. The kuutar top is so stunning - I love Sari's designs. Enjoy your summer projects!
I'm so happy that YT recommended your channel 🧡 Amazing first video; I love the pistachio colored top. I've never knit with 100% cotton before, but I might have to try!
Welcome! As a new knitter, your tip on tightening loose stitches is so helpful. I’m knitting with a Purl Soho plant fiber yarn and am having challenges in the same area you did. I’m trying this out!
Thank you for such a lovely and refreshing episode. I have yarn for the cumulus tee but am worried about getting bored, but the end result looks totally worth it! Best wishes from Australia ❤
I'm so glad I found your channel. I love how calm you are and I'm looking forward for more videos to come. I don't have any summer knitting plans at the moment because I'm in Chile and it's winter here but I still enjoyed seeing what you've been making ☺
Thank you, you're so sweet. Working on a shacket pattern that I'm planning on sharing soon, hopefully that would be more Chile-appropriate :) Only 2 degrees in Chile - hope you're staying warm and cozy inside!
You did a great job on your first Vlog! I really enjoyed your video. I am knitting a baby sweater, and camisole. i am crocheting a granny square blanket and a granny square sweater. i can't wait to do Sophia's Universe blanket when the granny square blanket is finished.
Just started knitting in a couple of weeks ago, and some if the smaller needle/thinner yarn projects seem so daunting still. Looking forward to seeing your next video
@@JustMims why don't you try doing a little gauge swatch or two to see how you find it. I'm sure you'll find it's not as scary as you initially thought, it's more time consuming but usually the result is worth it. good luck and enjoy your knitting journey!!
Hello from Aljezur 😊! Very nice first video, I really enjoyed watching it. Can I ask you where did you buy your NFO and Sadness yarn? Online? I knitted a lot with Drops cotton or mix cotton/linen for the summer and also the Retrosarios4 silk ( same quality and more cheaper than the KFO). Have a nice day :)
Hey Emma! Glad you enjoyed it 😊 I get Sandnes garn & KFO from Las Tijeras Magicas, it's a Spanish website that ships fast to Portugal. I also really love senshoku.es, they have a looot of great selection of the drops yarn! Wow, I need to try Retrosarios4 silk then. I only tried their merino but was so pleasantly surprised - it felt like a dream on my needles. Thank you, that's such a nice tip!
@@caffeinated_grannyI use the same shops! But when I am in Lisboa I also go to Traça Trapos, beautiful shop with Drops yarns. You can buy the Rosarios4 silk at Retrosaria Rosa Pomar both in Lisboa. Online, A Loja do gato preto is great too. Hope you enjoyed your trip in Algarve 😊

Your knit and crochet projects look amazing! 🧶💜
Thank you girl 🫶 I love the vibrancy coming from your thumbnail, I can tell I need to check your channel out!

Thank you, you are so sweet🥰 You should try knitting with cotton, I recommend trying it with wood/bamboo needles for a less slippery experience

@@caffeinated_granny yes it’s been cold here. No Norway cold but I swear winters here are worse 🥲
Trust me, I understand. Even though I experienced -30⁰C in Oslo, living in London with -2⁰C felt like MY BONES were cold

Just looked up what Sophia's universe blanket is, it's so gorgeous!
OMG You are the first knitting channel I have encountered that lives in lisbon, hope you love the city as much as I do :)
Obrigada, adoro mesmo Lisboa!

I still wear clothes from J Cress circa 1991. That is how old I am😂😂😂
Haha, I'm glad this video is reaching the right audience! I should've admitted it confidently
