  • Cricut Maker Print and cut cannot read sensor marks how to fix. Print and cut error solved.
    If you have a warranty on your machine do NOT take it apart or you will void your warranty. There is also the possibility that you are not printing the page correctly, your ink is too light, the sensor is obstructed, or another possibility.
    However, sometimes what can happen is a piece of material can bunch up and rub onto the sensor causing a little piece of rubber that directs the light to come unglued and lost. This results in the sensor light spreading out too much and the inability to read the registration marks or to calibrate the print and cut feature. It is not an easy fix , but if you watch some of my videos and are a bit handy you should be able to fix it. My other video shows the in depth disassembly required as well as the symptom.
    Since Cricut will not help out of warranty machines, I will. Let me know if you come across any issues and I will do my best to assist you. Alternatively, if you would like me to fix it for you and you can get it to me we may be able to work something out as well.
    Here is what the sensor looks like:

    Also if you got anything out of my videos please at least "like" them so I know I made the right decision by publicizing this. I started this channel to help others instead of withholding useful information for monetary gain. If you have found my videos useful and would like to support me and it, I really appreciate it and would also be really helpful. Here is a link. Thank you.

      That is not your problem. Your problem is likely due to one or more of the following: Bad right side motor, Bad or dirty encoder, bad belt, bad gear, bad connection, bad wire or bad main board. The print and cut sensor is only for the print and cut function.

    I have this problem with my explore air 2. Should this work the same on my machine?

    • @Idotooby
      @Idotooby  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Quite possibly. If the black part for the sensor is missing, then most likely. Way easier on the explore. You should be able to see a small black part where the sensor light is without even taking anything apart. If you don't see it, then my money is that is your problem. Let me know what you find.

      @@Idotooby Hello, I have the Explore Air 2. The ability of my machine to detect the print and cut lines is getting worse and worse over time. I've gone through the entire Cricut troubleshooting list. I just took apart the housing for the blades and sensor so I could look at the sensor light. The black piece is there, the sensor light is working (or at least turned on) and not dirty or obstructed. I do see a second round piece which looks like another light but it is not turned on. Should it be? Where should I go from here? Thank you for your help!

      Before you even think of removing anything, it should be covered under warranty if it is new from a store. If it is brand new and was factory sealed, chances are it is a printing error, room lighting, or something else like the set up and not the machine itself.
