- Since Fear The Walking Dead is in the midst of its fifth season, I thought it was time to ask why is Fear The Walking Dead so bad? For the first three seasons of the show, it at least felt like its own entity, but by season five, it is just a Walking Dead outcast reboot. For a show that had/has a ton of potential, it is quite the mediocre product. If Fear is your show, that's great! But, for me, the show just has too many flaws to look over. Season 3 was too damn good, they really screwed up firing the showrunner who actually knew what the hell he was doing and replaced him with Scott Pimple.
Yep, too bad they couldn’t have let the show be and give Morgan his own spinoff, if they wanted to go that route.

I really enjoyed seasons 1-3 quite a bit.. but once they killed off Nick I was done.. yes I know he asked to be killed off but it was because he knew it was about to suck also..

It was her annoying resting bitch face and constant eye rolling for me. I was pretty bratty as a teen but when my whenever my mum got sick, I forgot about everything and helped her, most teens are like that. Alicia never properly ships up, even when all hell in letting lose, she remains the same stereotypical teenager.
I honestly miss the old version of FEAR; especially with the themes they dealt with that went beyond the world they lived in ( drug addiction, cultism, racism, abuse) It felt real. They found their footing in the third season and for them to fire the old showrunner and reboot it...it just defeats the whole purpose of this show now. It’s basically TWD Texas.

Second half of season 2 and the whole of season 3 were amazing. Now it's such pure garbage I can't even.
And people thought s8 of the OG series was bad lmao! (And s8 was the worst of TWd)
I enjoyed the first 2 seasons despite their flaws. I really liked season 3 and it felt like they found their footing. I was really excited going into season 4. Nick and Madison had a conversation near the end of season 3 which foreshadowed that Nick might kill Madison which would have been cool. I understand that the original Fear show isn’t for everyone but it had its audience who enjoyed it a lot. I feel like the Morgan and Friends’ reboot is for no one though. Part of what made the first 3 season captivating for me was that the characters were all out for themselves and operating in s very morally grey area. The reboot changed all that by making everyone Morgan lite. Everything in the shoe now happens to support Morgan. Seasons 4 and 5 are so bad. Killing off characters is fine but there needs to be a plan. The deaths in the first 3 seasons worked really well but the season 4 deaths were just insulting.
DatGuy the only death in season 3 that was bad was Travis. They wasted such a good character.

I liked this show much more than TWD, and when season 4 happened I dropped it. That season was so bad that I decided to watch TWD again even if it was boring to me.
So many Fantastic characters in this show just to be wasted or changed arbitrarily... and more interesting themes.
I dropped the walking dead after they changed who negan killed for seemingly no reason. (Loved the comic series right up to the end of it). Honestly the whole franchise has been sabotaged by going too long with poor writing.

That would get the show back on track. Even though the actor who played Nick won't come back, he could at least mysteriously disappeared, that would be the best way to write him off.

FTWD S2: Dragged on at the start but ended on a high
FTWD S3: Excellent all the way through!
FTWD S4: First half was okay, second half was just so boring

After watching this season, I'm starting to appreciate seasons 6-8 of TWD (the bad ones).
Second half of Season 5 was way worse than the first half.

Agreed I've just binged watched season 3 of FTWD and it is absolutely superb. I've quite enjoyed this whole series up to this point, season 3 is miles better than the last few Walking Dead series.
I don’t know why they think we want to see Alicia not killing walkers and painting on trees, the non stop « OOh lets help People » witch is okay but now its too much or stupid vilains like that stick lady in season 4...
John Proctor and his group were really interesting characters and felt like a real threat but just ditched to replace it with shit. Damn what Is next ? They tell the story of Daniel Salazar being a stamp collector in the apocalypse ?
No zombies, no intense scenes, stupid and cringy cinematography, no chemistry between characters, lame villains. Please cancel this crappy show.

season 4 was awful and felt like a completely new show......and it was extremely slow...season 3 was spectacular....
the first 3 seasons of fear were honestly great, I honestly started to like them more than the walking dead especially with the same old repeated storylines (season 6,7and 8) . it was very original and innovative , and the stories were just interesting. and the new locations were very interesting . If nick was still on fear would still be somewhat good. Morgan should've never appeared on fear
Season 1.2 and 3 were pretty good, however the problem began the moment Morgan arrived and show runners stopped giving any crap to the old cast which were really really good.
It is impossible to watch... Lines, plot... everything is so bad, especially in season 5.
Only way of watching this cringy and boring version of the real Walking dead is setting play speed to 2x and saving half of your lifetime for something useful than this garbage. I am now in S02E04 and I don't know if I should continue watching it. Only reason why I didn't quit it is Morgan and Dwight that will appear there. Fear the Walking dead had a big potencial but they messed it up, you have no feelings from these scenes and if somebody dies, you don't care, because they didn't make almost any character interesting enough that you will hope he will survive. I was wondering if I should watch Fear the Walking dead Flight 462 but I will never watch it, because it's even worse than this shitcome.
In my opinion, I started to love fear for the fact that I already what was coming in the original show due to reading the comics. Fears first season started off as pretty much setting plot of the apocalypse which I enjoyed, season 2 did drag but I still enjoyed, season 3 was when they found their footing and it was great. Then in season 4 they just ruined so much by adding Morgan and involving so many plot holes for points we wondered what happened after the dam. Now it’s the Morgan show. The reboot is awful and it is just so unrealistic now as to where the original was more practical.

Fear started fairly good but continually devolved into trash. The dialogue between characters is clunky and unrealistic which makes it annoying just to watch. The writing in the latest season has some how fallen even farther into Tumblr fan fiction territory on top of everything else. Here's an example,
The "story needs to be told" chick finds some black ops chick and throughout the whole episode exchange forced dialogue that doesn't make much sense and contributes little to nothing to the story and pointing guns at one another only to suddenly have a random lesbian make out scene out of nowhere at the end.

I really started hating the show when they started "helping people" like don't they have problems of their own.
They went next level bad this current season. Particularly with the double head stab and then that axe shearing a bullet to omg double head shot scene.
For a while I was enjoying it more than TWD but now the writing reminds me of daytime drama tv.

I too hoped they were bringing Abraham over. Could have been so good. No need for a time jump. Zombie worlds are much more compelling when they’re portrayed during or shortly after the outbreak and you get to see stories of people sink or swim in the new dynamic.
At this point I’ve checked out but I’m too invested to not watch after reading the comics since they started.

I thought six was complete garbage for the most part. The episodes with strand were interesting. The only one that actually had me on my toes was alicia in the taxidermy place and then the Teddy/Alicia bit when they ran into Cole. Morgans boring preaching really put me to sleep this one and the finale left me feeling unsatisfied for once with this show. I was like "that's really it...." hoping this one will feature better plots and dialogue.
@@Avrilhandler I really loved how each episode went soo deeply into a particular character's Psychi. I really adored the whole John, Dakota, Virginia, and Niomi storyline. And goddamn, John's death was a pleasant surprise. I can't get over how Strand almost always walks close towards his redemption, but ignores it on its face every single time. I absolutely admire the writer, whoever it is, that wrote Grace's miscarriage episode. I actually have no complaints for the ending. The fact that the "main-gang" fails to stop a dozen *Nuclear blast* in the TWD universe is just sooo bafflingly fascinating to me. I personally think that the 6th season of FTWD is alone better than the last 7 TWD seasons combined. And the amazing writer that Robert Kirkman is starting to become, I can't wait for the next FTWD season and the Rick Grimes movies.
@@TheGoddon Everyone definitely has their own opinions on it. Season 3 was the best out of ftwd to me and the writing has just been lazy the past two seasons. It just feels very repetitive. Teddy could have easily been the villain we needed. I was intrigued by his character but then he died like instantly so that was a bummer. I personally dont care for morgan at all. His fight scenes make me cringe at how unrealistic they look. I feel like this will be strands last season though since coleman is doing so many things outside of ftwd. I hope alycia gets off the show too so her talents can be utilized. She gives a strong screen presence imo. They tease her being this badass zombie slayer and then retreat her character to something insignificant.

I feel like Fear died with Nick and Madison. After that, yeah, the show is fun and good, but it lost its way. Before, it was about a family trying to survive. Then it went to other people doing their thing to survive and help people. both things are great, but both things are different shows I feel.

Im not mad with morgan and ik travis and nick wanted to die in the movie but why killing madison and john? Im so confused
Season 3 went downhill the moment they killed off Travis for no reason whatsoever. Then they brought on Troy as a main character instead of capping his sadistic psychopathic ass as soon as humanly possible, which would have been much more realistic. They treated him like a poor damaged kid who just had a bad upbringing and needed support and friends. No, he was a psycho killer, and needed to be put down. Negan and the Governor were both less sociopathic than Troy.
The only thing that can explain season 4 and beyond is that the new showrunners must have connections. They couldn't have gotten the job by their ability to make decent television. This is what happens in a society where everybody gets blue ribbons...
Man Travis was so interesting to me definitely my favorite character after he went I got into nick a lot but then he got a shitty death as well
I've tried to watch this a few times but it sucked too hard. I have such a Zombie addition, I'm thinking about starting again (not from the beginning but say from S2.Ep3) Is it worth it or will I still hate it?
Don’t even try with the show again. The only thing you’ll find is boredom and frustration.
Season 1 through 3 are good. Season 4 I'd watch about half of it and you'll know when to stop. I wont give spoilers, but they pretty much wrap up the original story and it quickly becomes morgan and friends and goes downhill from there. Only reason to keep watching is to laugh at how ridiculous it gets.
Season 1 to 3 was epic. Season 3 was better than any TWD season during the time. Now it is a pile of rotten meat. Animated.

I thought it was bad from the beginning, too little zombie action, wooden acting, and bad characterization all around that made it hard for me to even believe something as good as twd could produce something like this...amazing. Amazingly bad. I can’t believe they had numerous opportunities to develop them and just throw it away for lame speeches and emotionless acting. I’ve never seen worse acting than some of the scenes on the show. Killing a character offscreen instead of freaking showing it to us like twd did? Shameful. They did that to two MAIN leads who were important, instead of freaking letting us see their deaths and having time to mourn. Imagine if Sophia had been killed off screen. Imagine if Shane died off screen. Some of the most incredible scenes were powerful in twd because they LET you see that people died. They didn’t hide it.
The walkers don’t emerge as often as they should in ftwd and it hurts the sense of danger that was omnipresent in TWD. Walkers are a joke here, sometimes they kill people but mostly characters just brush them off and the worst bit is the bad acting. I wouldn’t mind the corny speeches if they at least...felt something. But like aside from the girl, the guy and the mom, everyone else is so freaking wooden half the time. They don’t sound believable or compelling, they sound like they’re reading from a script. Sometimes, FTWD gets it right, like the astronaut episode or the ranch arc. But like, having a guy recite poetry while a crow eats his brains isn’t serious, it’s hilarious and kills the sadness we should feel. Inconsistent tone holds this show back from being something great.
Finally, the worst bit, characters spend endless amounts of time doing nothing, just sitting around and staring. TWD always had something happening. You’d think they were on a vacation. Do something. Where’s the active plot here? At least the first season had a plot. Second season they drift around on a boat, yay. Zombies should NOT be boring.
FTWD just...could be so much better but instead it moves like molasses, slow and pondering, with underused and neglected characters, ridiculous plots (water shortage, seriously? This is a zombie show, focus on the zombies more) and sometimes okayish acting. First episode of twd had me reeled in. I never wanted to miss an episode. FTWD...I tried man, I tried and I was so bored, so discouraged.
It’s not good. It’s not bad. It’s just disappointingly executed. Nothing hurts worse than seeing something with promise just not live up to its potential. A premise about before the apocalypse should not be dull or uneventful. Bring in more walkers, more danger, more EMOTIONS, and bam. It would be much better. Alas, I stopped in season three and will not return.

I gotta say the acting and/or the writing was awful man. Like some of the stuff Alicia says is so ridiculous like who thinks to say that? Especially in an apocalypse. Like my goodness no one says anything worthwhile in the whole 2 seasons I’ve watched. The characters are just supremely unlikeable.and the worst part is that these guys are the main characters. The people you’re supposed to like are assholes. I get it when they make an enemy unlikeable like Negan was a jerk and that made you want him to get his. But jeez, no one is cool

Just as Travis started to carry the show as a fan favourite, He died. Just when Nik carries the show, he died. Nik was the only good thing about season 4 and was only in a few episodes.
The choice of actresses/actors have really let the show down. The amount of times i have cringed due to the poor acting and line delivery of Al and June is depressing. Its like im watching Z nation at times with Als character😂.
There are even some momments i find the actress that plays alycia doesent suit "her new role/character" as well as she did in earlier seasons.
The script isnt as engaging as the walking dead and i dont think Morgans actor has the chemistry with the FTWD cast as he did with TWD.
First 3 seasons were 🔥 season 4 was kind of pathetic, and what ive seen of season 5 its looking just as depressing as 4.
I would have been more happy if they just scrapped FTWD after season 3 and brought some of the characters with the most potential (Nik, Alycia, Strand, Salazar, Taka) to The walking dead.👐

Honestly, i loved how main characters had seemingly sudden and pointless deaths, its very realistic that even badass characters can just get killed out of the blue. I think tv shows and movies got us used to plot armor and dramatic death scenes. I just wish FTWD did it in a better way and made more detailed characters that act accordingly to their own logic who would be actually missed by viewers.
Reasons:
1. Maddison is a repulsive character.
2. "For my family, family family" is the excuse for EVERYTHING ALL THE TIME.
3. Season 3.
4. The Maddy/Nick undying love for Troy made ABOSLUTELY NO SENSE.
5. Maddison and her family dynamics (WGAF?) just becomes a melodrama more fit for a nighttime soap.
6. Cheap, cheap, cheap script tricks like--character holdings someone at gunpoint too close the person.. OH NO! They grab the gun from their captor and fight ensues! Again, again, again...
7. SO MUCH SPANISH. If I want to read, I'll read; I wanna WATCH.
8. Any show with teenage main characters is gonna hurt, but this one started with # super whiny teenage characters!
9. Not written as an ensemble that allows good actors playing interesting characters: Nick, Strand and Crazy Dog to shine through because it's ALL ABOUT MADDISON ALL THE TIME.
10. Constantly insulting the audience because so many of the characters' choices make absolutely no sense and are so obviously inserted just to drag out tension or drama.
They should have made Morgan's and ricks and maybe someone elses from TWD their own movies, for example for Morgan they could made a movie for him after he leaves to virginia called "I Don't Die" and for Rick after he gets kidnapped
I was planning on benge watching the show starting with s2, I ended up watching this instead of ep1 somehow. That's a bad sign...

I have watched TWD all the way up until season 10 and FTWD up to season 6 and i honestly prefer FTWD, i think it depends on what seasons you talk about like if someone asked me which do i prefer TWD seasons 1-2 or FTWD 1-2 i would say TWD but now i prefer FTWD over TWD any day of the week. I don't understand why the fans liked Nick though? he would just throw mards and run off walking with the dead making his family go after him and stuff.....hated Morgan with all his peace talks and i think they realised that nobody liked it as in season 6 he turns into an angry Rick Grimes and TWD season 10 is basically 99.9% talking and based around Daryl and Carol 24.7 it got boring...i would care more about FTWD ending than TWD.
I like the first three seasons, but after season four, I went off the show. Mainly because the focus shifts onto a new line of characters, who are decent, but kind of deviate from what I liked about the show.
In my opinion Fear the Walking Dead should always be about the Clarks and their struggle for survival and to stay together as a family.
Even though I like the Walking Dead and have a soft spot for the later seasons, I do think Fear the Walking Dead is more intense and kind of refreshing.
Have you ever read what Erickson had originally planned for the show and where it was going to go and how it would've ended up? I wish we would've gotten that instead of whatever this crap gimple gave us instead

Just wished season four left right off where Madison was washed up on the river bank, picked herself up and begun searching for her family. Unfortunately the show is now stuck in a rut with mediocre characters and plots that make little to no sense.

@@lapplandkun9273 I didn’t mind him at first, but after the Aikado or whatever it was (the fighting style with the stick) and Morgan acting like some kind of pure dude (He doesn’t kill walkers). In my eyes, he just seems really idiotic. I know I have strong opinions about a TV show, but something about his character just irks me.
Then seeing him in FTWD after Nick, Madison and some favorites died... it was even more frustrating.
Tbh the only character I hate more than Morgan in FTWD would be Chris, but he’s long gone lol

Wow people saying first 3 seasons are good amazed me! I felt whole series is HUGE BS! Family drama over and over again, while characters doing stupid uninteresting illogical things over and over just so it can create more drama... worse tv show i ever watched.

Season 3 was the best season of FEAR (even better than the Walking Dead was during this same run time). But they fired Dave Erickson when the show had finally hit it’s stride and brought in a couple of nerdy writers from “Once Upon A Time” to turn a gritty and deep show set in the Apocalypse into a cheesy, Sci Fi channel level show with cartoon characters. Then they killed off Nick and Madison, the leads of the show, and brought in Morgan just to give Lenny James his own show. It was such a waste of great potential!!
TWD was supposed to be a horror and it's ok however, FEAR must be a comedy because the characters can't be THAT stupid.

My husband and I are watching in chronological order starting with the Webseries. When we started to watch Fear TWD, man, the Madison actress can’t act. Definitely the same face to all her emotions. Can’t feel anything that comes from her. My favorite character is Nick so far. (we’re on season 2)

I loved the first 1-3 seasons of FTWD, I get why people think it was boring but I had absolutely no problems with the first 3 seasons EXCEPT for the death of Travis. But I despise 4-6 SO MUCH, I stopped watching after I finished season 4, 4-6 honestly feels like a chore. This show is garbage, I wish they kept Dave Erickson

The things that bothers the shit out of me is that they did NOTHING (god I'm so pissed) with the CRM shit. This serie is stupid, make no sense and people never actually dies. The fact they got money to produce it, is such a mistery to me. I just wasted my time for 8 seasons. I've been watching it in fast forward mode, most of the script is going nowhere most of the time

I liked seasons 1 through 3 alot. I thought the Troy/Nick friendship was by far the best thing the show had going for it, then they killed off Troy and killed Nick the next season. It was downhill from there
I loved Fear, it's intimate and it has provided me much food for thought. I think it's wrong to compare "Fear TWD" with "TWD", it's completely different and maybe not for everybody

I'm on season 3 episode 1, and I just couldn't continue. The first 5 episodes of season 1 are literally the worst 5 episodes of any show i've ever seen. It feels like watching a bunch of NPCs walking around. The dialogue is horrible, 2 of the main characters (The mom and her daughter) are literally the worst characters of the entire show. They single handedly ruined the show for me. The mom has no emotions whatsoever it's like watching a cardboard with features. The daughter is so unlikable and so random, one moment she cares for her brother and few seconds later she hates him, she elbowed her stepbrother and almost broke his nose after saving her life for no reason whatsoever and we're supposed to like her? The only reason I still try to fight through the show is because I wanna see Morgan.
This show is officially a joke only fans in denial watch it , if you want to kinda fix it
Bring back madison ALREADY
Kill off Morgan and the new cast
Make the Clarks the main focus
No more guest characters
No Jesus type characters wanting to save humanity its unrealistic at this point

Ive been binging this and the characters just make the stupidest decisions and let simple situations escalate into huge problems also they kill whole communities with there decisions and think they are right. Its so frustrating to watch

My only issue with Fear the walking dead are the bad guys. I like the walking dead better because the bad guys on that show are more unique, interesting and cooler like the reapers, the saviors, and the whisperer’s. The bad guys on fear the walking dead are too average and slightly boring

In Z Nation when Cassandra died I refused 2 watch any more zombie shows. Cos I needed Cassandra and just felt sick when 10k did that. Pointless
