Fr it seems to bizarre to interpret that as anything other than “about 50% of the hours most people consider nighttime he was awake working on the problem because the problem occurred halfway through the night”
@@goatpepperherbaltea7895 Not really that bizarre. Considering there's also the saying "that was a long night", which doesn't mean it literally, just means we stayed up for too long, so in this case the night meant the time they stayed up while it was night (so if we stayed for example 6 hours at night, that was a long night!, 2 hours at night, that was a short night! even though the night was the same, but it rather refers to the period we were awake at night), which is exactly what people interpreted in the video, so it can go both ways, I don't think people are to blame here. I almost wonder if you’re also just so used to an overload that when something like that happens you can process it all better than someone without adhd. No science behind that claim, just a wild guess 😂
I have the same thing Linus does when it comes to focus, and the worst part of it is, you don't even realise you're in that mode until your out of it, and if you somehow manage to grasp it while it's happening, it's next to impossible to actually leave it until you mentally reset
Linus, that driving situation, from what I've read of the literature (and also personally experienced as an ADHD) is super common. As neuropinephrine (epinephrine, a.k.a. adrenaline) boosting drugs are used as a treatment for ADHD, when we hit stressful circumstances of the real, life threatening variety, ADHDs get a big ass dose of neuroepithelial and unlike "normies", we get all hyperfocused (why we only get our shit together during crunch times or after the final ultimate deadline has passed). So, if you/the staff ever wondered what's up with that, it's one of the adaptations associated with ADHDers (the ADHD brain). Same goes with our emotional instability and foot-in-mouth disease.
I didn't think that "half of the night" meant half of what happened at all. I think that if you know what's going on you can go figure what half a night means. Because it's not a coincidence those attacks launch that late.
I think it's funny Luke's even man. He's been Linus's best friend for like two decades and he's angry that Linus (definitely on the spectrum somewhere) couldn't remember something all while he going through one of the most taxing moments in years. Linus forgetting sounds very understandable to me.
I think I know why Linus works well in "Certain crisis", those are usually dangerous situations, I have experienced this too a few times before. ADHD, as counterintuitive as it sounds, is a bit like constantly being in high alert, and a lot of stuff happens in a moment. In a regular given moment, someone like Linus will not function properly because he is going everywhere, and someone like Ivone can catch these vectors and direct them towards something. However, in a moment of chaos, the situation escalates, and everything starts happening perceivably at the same speed and frequency an ADHD brain works. Someone like Ivone might be getting overwhelmed, but Linus is operating like Futurama's Fry under 1000 coffee cups.
Not all of your viewers assumed that Luke was only there "half the time." The statement half the night taken in context rather than as a literal period of time led me and I'm sure many other users to assume that you Luke was there helping to fix stuff half the night, not just half the time. Luke, we all know you work way harder than Linus and anyone who's watched the channel for any period of time would not assume you didn't work your ass off to help get the issue fixed. :)

Oh come on, Linus. *Rookie* mistake: when someone says they're mad at you, *you don't start listing out loud* all the things you've done that they could be mad about. I mean, come on, you've been married to Luke for how long??
If you have ever done computer work and been in a room with a bunch of type "A's", you realize quickly, that if you want to get anything done quickly, you have to tune them out. I think that is exactly what Linus did and it wasn't really what he should have done. Parents also learn to tune out certain things about their kids so they don't go postal.

However, in a moment of chaos, the situation escalates, and everything starts happening perceivably at the same speed and frequency an ADHD brain works. Someone like Ivone might be getting overwhelmed, but Linus is operating like Futurama's Fry under 1000 coffee cups.
As Linus says, that why Yvonne and he work well together, and Fry only had 100 cups of coffee ☕️
Let it be known, far and wide, Luke did know.
Need to make sure this video is blown up. For Luke and Yvonne.
I understood the half the night thing the way Linus meant it
I didn't take it that way, for half the night
The verified sticker on luke's laptop is such a vibe
It's really nice to see their relationship.
Most wholesome fight ever!
That’s how I took it. That Luke was only there for half of the time.
That DBrand sponsorship was so funny. They got me for a Steam Deck Case!
"Mah Waif"
Fuckin aye linus, lmao
Now all the attacks are coming in before noon😅
18 years "or something like that" o'boi..
It still amazes me that these guys are Canadian.
That half was clearly just you were both up for half the night
I was able to figure out how to stop my dog from bleeding out shorthanded on materials for such a catastrophe (a towel) from my other bigger dog biting them, cool calm and collected, but i lost my shit when my steam account got hacked one time.
This was so good I had to watch it twice in a row.
Yeah, that's exactly what I thought about that "half night comment", dude doesn't seem to be phased or bothered to pull a full shift, interesting. Rightfully upset about it all
Don't forget what to do whenever 'and' works as well as 'but' in a sentence.
linus was panic at the time he block out people when he panic to much
Oh come on, Linus. *Rookie* mistake: when someone says they're mad at you, *you don't start listing out loud* all the things you've done that they could be mad about. I mean, come on, you've been married to Luke for how long??
I knew what Linus meant about half the night.
Linus, you should make a video about tech tips that help you manage ADD for the Mental Health Awareness Month!
Just a side note: ADD isn't the name anymore. The name was changed to ADHD in the late 90's. I have it also.
Linus giving excussing show how great of boss he is ..
Yeah, that's the thing about A.D.D/A.D.H.D, if you've actually managed to focus on something, nothing else gets registered in your brain at all.
Brain was only 20% awake, and yet going at 120% speed.
_'I know what happened... But what happened?'_ *Mode*
Yup... I don't work in the mornings either, t'is my zombie mode time.
Adding adrenalin or any panic... Nope.
You guys are like the perfect married couple ❤
Totally!! I loves Luke and Linus chemistry ❤
the time stap that you whant is at 5:11 your welcome xD
Best WAN show ever
Oh … half way point of the night? I don’t see it that way
Hmm, why don't you link the video you are talking about? Which is "yesterday" video??
this is like the hard r all over again
Anyone else wanna see these two battle it out?
“Im mad”
“Is this cause I lost one of your price possessions”
“No. I……repeat that”
“Nope”
Still funny that Luke didn't know.
If anyone ever gets in an actual real intense argument with Luke, they better start fucking running lmao.
I understood it as that's what happened 😅
