I've been homeless for nearly 1 month now, strangely enough my mental health has improved by leaps and bounds and feel just fortunate to be alive. It has its days and I have limited resources but I make the best of what I have. I'm 29 years of age living in midland England and appreciate you shedding some light on your situation, it gives me hope and a sense of community knowing I'm not the only one going through this. Kudos to you and your partner.
I'm so very sorry to hear this. I'm glad your mental health has improved it's good to hear a positive side to your situation. I wish you the very best of luck. And hopefully you are housed very soon.
Definitely NOT the only one enduring this. I will say I honestly believe that when the economy starts growing and housing becomes affordable again we will see people who truly don’t want to get back into a big headache of being overburdened with bills! This lifestyle will continue on for many. It may be a little harder to survive but less the stress of being on a clock and killing your self with hours on in at a job that really doesn’t care about us. A warm dry place to rest at night with a hot meal is all we need. Imagine taking that saved money and enjoying life!!!!!! You got this I promise….. good luck to all who are experiencing this. Turn it into a positive lesson…… 💪🏽💯

It's hard for me to believe this situation in the UK. Unless you're dealing with severe issues like addiction and refusing help, there is plenty of support available, especially for those who are ill. I've personally experienced sudden unemployment and the inability to pay rent, but within a week of contacting Universal Credit, I received an interest-free loan that covered my rent for the month. Within a month, I got my first Universal Credit payment, which gave me enough time to find work without needing to move or look for another place to live. In England, there's so much assistance available that it's hard to imagine ending up on the streets. Frankly, it makes no sense to me. Additionally, what this person is doing doesn't add up either. They claim to have jobs but are now homeless-that just doesn’t make sense. I suspect they are leaving out key details that would explain their situation.
Quite simply...your wrong. I work in the frontline of healthcare AND lost everything last year. And i was very much left to it. Your ideas and beliefs about the system are out of date...since the tories came in in 2010 swinging cuts and profiteering off properties have left many ordinary folk in s*** street @puzzlemagnet1957
FOR EVERYONE: one way to support this channel is to allow the commercials to run all the way through while you watch the video, this is the way Ste Outdoors can get paid any money. If you skip the commercials, then they don't get money...if you watch at least 30 seconds they get a tiny bit but if you allow the commercial to play all the way through then they get more money. A sneaky way to do this easily and benefits both you and the channel is to start the video and let everything run...turn off the sound. Open a 2nd tab and go into TH-cam again, watch the video and skip the commercials like you normally do...so you'd have two tabs open on YT both running the same video, one you leave to run all the way and the 2nd you use to skip commercials.
During the last recession we became houseless. But never homeless, we had our camper and it was tight for a family of four. We actually became happier with time because we were so grateful for what we had.
In all my Seventy years, I have never seen the country in such a mess. Successive governments have neglected and failed the people of this country and I really feel for your generation, however, I suspect things are coming to a head within the next few months, and there will be a drastic change for the better very soon. I'm glad you have each other to lean on in these tough times, and wish you both the very best. Stay strong and stay positive, and your luck should change.

I WISH YOU EVERYTHING OF THE BEST AND I HEAR YOU WHEN YOU SAID THE ONES YOU THOUGHT WOULD HELP DONT , BUT BELIEVE ME HELP WILL COME FROM THOSE YOU LEAST EXPECT IT. GOD BLESS YOU BOTH.
Glad to hear you and your missus have a strong connection and maintaining a unified front. A lot of people today would have likely bailed on their partner when times get rough, so it speaks volumes to the character, heart and dedication you two have for each other and is so wonderful to see ❤. The world seems to be going even more sideways with each passing day and it is unfortunate to see good people like you two cast into that kind of situation. Your bushcraft training will prove invaluable for sure and this will be a true testament to the wealth of knowledge you have been and will continue to give us all. Stay strong brother ❤👊.
I'm 58 and due to bereavement, have had to sell up, couldn't afford all the bill's, not eligible for benefits, so am now sofa surfing, have bought a tent, but hate to pay the utter rip off site fees, asked for these days, non electric pitch should cost around £4 a night, but of course the country has been set up to suck people dry, for company profits and shares , lucky I've got good friends, and am looking at alternatives, like van life, time will tell, good luck to all in the same situation, stay positive 👍
Which part of the country are you based. I am a widowed pensioner and live alone...I'm looking to decorate next year and start some sort of a small commune so live will be less stressful. Obviously we need to be on the same wavelength so to speak.
@@GillMaloufhi gill, I’m a 38 old lad looking for somewhere safe to park. If you have somewhere I’d be willing to do you decorating for free for a few weeks safe parking.
Very nice setup. My wife, I and our two teenage boys ended up homeless back in 2012. The 2008 crash spiraled us down until - like thousands of people in the US; we ended up homeless. We finally rented a RV spot in the woods on someones property and spent the winter in summer tents in Oregon. The next summer we purchased a Tipi and the following winter was much better and warmer. We all took it as a challenge to survive and prayed allot that God would help us - and He did! Your skills will definitely help, and what you learn now can be used to help others learn to survive when they become homeless too.... Unless things change for the better in this world - many more people will become homeless here in the future. God Bless you both and keep you safe, warm, and well fed!
I'm sorry to heat that you and your family have had some tough times. I'm sure some of it was fun too. Yeah I love the outdoors it's my happy place. I wish you and your family well wishes.
No need to be embarrassed. These are crazy times. You seem to have a very positive outlook, which I'm sure will stand you in good stead. I doubt I would be so resilient. Good luck and thank you for sharing
You have a home, it's just made of a different material than most homes. And it's FINE for the time being. You'll look back in a few years and this will all seem a big adventure!
I totally agree, and nomads still live like this today it's just an alternative style of living. ......for me and you. We are a special breed 😄 my Mrs on the other hand needs home comforts like windows and a letter box haha

@BushcraftWithSteOutdoors 6 ton a month seems extortionate . It would make more sense to wild camp free. Never owned an iron myself ... I spent 2 years purposefully homeless while I saved up for my motorhome . But I lived in my volvo estate as opposed to a tent . ( had a tent also for drinking beer in )😂 I parked in a 24 hr gym car park so I could use the showers ,bogs etc.etc.etc.. And also charge my power banks up . And use their WiFi.. Don't hold your breath on the council house idea , could easily be 5 years. I like your tent ..
Why embarrassed. He's doing well. I'd rather be there where he is than my house but only thing is I couldn't get up from the ground as I get bad cramp. Houses can be a disaster and a trial for a few reasons.
Your video just popped up and Im watching now from Australia. Its the same here mate.. No one can afford to live.. 1 in 4 Aussies are worried about becoming homeless & the rate of homelessness already here has never been seen like it is now.. Its every western country it seems.. Ive just subbed to your channel.. I really hope you & your Mrs are ok moving forward.
I was homeless and living on the street for 4 years, i now own a house and my own business. Life throws you curveballs you just have to handle them correctly. As Winston Chruchill once said and its something i've always lived by "If you're going through Hell, keep going!" You'll get there.
I lost my house a year ago and currently in a caravan on a farm touching a year wouldn’t change it ever me the 2 cats and freedom keep your head up there’s more to life than being a sheep
I have been your situation for 3 years, just keep your head high. Nothing to be embarrassed about. It is tough at the moment but all will work out for the best. Keep believing and keep your head high.
Very sorry to hear your troubles buddy, glad to see you and your mrs staying strong. I woke up one day was so stressed with mortgage payments and the cost off everything I did this by choice. Turned out to be a 12 year adventure ended up in france then in Spain camping campsite fees are ridiculously cheaper. Plus great weather made so many friends from all over Europe. I now live in Cornwall in a one bedroom apartment but to be honest I am wild camping as much as I am in my apartment love being in nature.STAY STRONG GUYS 👍
Wow, that sounds amazing. I could live like this forever. But I'm not sure the missus could 🤔. I bet you have some amazing stories to yo tell. Thank you for your support.
Gutted for you mate, we are in the same boat and looks like we will lose our flat very soon. We have the campervan to live in. Keep your heads up, keep supporting each other, you will get through this. 🤩👍🌟
Been on the edge of homelessness for the last 6 months, it’s been a struggle since Yellow Freight filed bankruptcy last July. The circumstances I’m under now are why I haven’t posted videos this year. I’m sorry to hear you and yours are going through something similar. Stay strong Ste!
I'm so sorry to hear this. We wish you all the very best and really hope you come out of this horrible situation very soon. We have everything crossed for you. Stay strong.
This is a true video about the reality of life in the UK for many people. I actually started learning camping because I expect to be homeless in the near future, so I'm preparing myself.
Disfusting that good people are made homeless!! Australia is crumbling too. My sincere prayers you have the strength to endure until your circumstances change. May your lovely partner keep strong. You seem a courageous man and I know youll make it together.
We are full time tent Nomads in the uk 🇬🇧 and we loves it matey, don't be too down. "living like animals" laughed at that. We can't carry tables and such, but we're on foot with backpacks tho. Tough times ahead, stay safe cully. 👍🏼
Sorry to hear about your situation, Ste. Hope all works out. At least you have a nice big warm cozy tent and necessities. Best of luck to you and the Mrs. I'll keep you in my prayers.

Don’t be embarrassed mate, I’m currently at my local library in a tent, same sort of situation, I’m in band C currently, been homeless for 6 months and been in the tent at the library for nearly 7 weeks now, still waiting for space to be cleared in social housing whilst I’m currently placing bids on council property’s, I only need a 1 bed myself. Some days are worse than others I agree but we’ve all gotta keep our heads and hopes high, I hope your situation gets rectified asap the same as mine! Great content like usual bud, keep up the hard work and graft, all the best to you and your partner buddy. Your channel has given me the motivation to keep pushing on. M8! That's a bit crap! Are you working? Are you actually in the building at least? I really do hope things improve for you soon! Have they not offered you temporary accommodation?
@@BushcraftWithSteOutdoors I’ve gotten a lucky break as I have a public toilet near me, the library is open fairly often so I can charge my power bank, got a couple local shops and a chemist nearby, sadly not working at the moment as I don’t have my own transport to get to various nearby work places, plus my setup is extremely basic at the moment, I’ve not been offered any social housing or emergency housing as of yet, I’m hopefully as had some type of trust organisation come out and verify me as rough sleeping, she’s helped me out massively bless her, been helping with food and all sorts really, she’s the one that’s been pushing to try to get me in somewhere even if it’s just temporary for now, basically she’s an angel in my eyes! I’m hopeful something will be sorted soon myself, just got to keep pushing, can’t deny it my mental health is completely shot and I do have to take medication 3 times daily for it, some days ain’t to bad but others are worse, I’ve just decided to be completely open about it all, atleast others out there going through the same situation know they ain’t the only ones. We all just got to hold on and keep up the good fight 💪🏻
Hello, I'm not quite what you call homeless, but I do reside in a Static Caravan. My partner passed away 29th January 2023, and it is very hard and has been very challenging and is challenging, but yes, I have started again in my life with 2 dog's and 2 cats as well, I wish you both well and back on your feet again xx
Please don’t be embarrassed - life is precarious these days and I can relate - single mama with three kids. It’ll happen and you’ll get a place. Well done for making the most of the experience. Just need to look at life a bit differently, tent, van, boat - not sure a 25 yr mortgage is particularly appealing these days. Stay positive!
Absolutely 💯 what you said it's a shock to the system, but alternative living Is an essential consideration these days. Even if I could afford to buy a house I wouldn't want to be obligated to pay a £300k mortgage for the rest of my life! Especially at 44 years old! Hope you are well and stay safe.
Homelessness is a great problem worldwide...I'm close to it myself. I have been looking into tent living. Thank you for this video and may God bless you and your family ❤
Millimetres, away from this situation, myself. I am at home with my parents with my misses, child. I pay my way. But too much of everyone stepping on eachothers feet to put it lightly. My mental health isn't fantastic with the dramas. Had numerous jobs, a wage that would still see my head bearly above water even if I rented. I'd be in serious trouble with the bills. Currently training to do a better paid job right now. I don't even wish to entertain rent prices in my area. My partner works, and I am headed towards my goal. I don't even wish to participate in this rip-off, scam society anymore. I'd exploit every loophole I can. Thank you for this insight 😉
Yours and mine story is absolutely the same, my friend, right from your first paragraph! I didn't want to go into specifics, but our situation ended badly, to the point that no amount of time passed would repair what had been broken. Hope you get your job, my friend, and good luck for the future.
Good job folks. Glad to see your fine and well. Love from Canada. My grandfather Back in the 1930s was working in one of the mines up here in northern ontario. He decided to build a house once he was working, He bought some property from his father. And He and my Grandmother Lived in a ww1 canvas army tent . During the summer and winter while the home was being built. -45 below Celcuis is no joke in a tent trying to love and provide for your wife. People were tough back then and people are tough Now. Your not alone, For sure. You will survive. Keep praying and smiling.
I am so sorry for your situation I have subscribed to the channel . This is why camping is a good skill to learn in circumstances especially like this i hope its not too long before you get rehoused I will be watching.
I live on my live-aboard bugout survival pod sailboat that can stay out at sea self-sufficient for up to 10 years. My yearly cost of living is down to $3500 including everything even starlink. I bought the boat for $3000, rebuilt it for $5000 now I don't have to work.

@@ColinSlocombe cheaper than some rents/mortgages these days tho. We live in a tent full time, not because of homelessness.. But because the system screws all who are in it, and I'd rather live free, with backpacks and choice of anywhere (within reason) to stay where and when we like. 👍🏼👌🏼

I really wish you all the best 🙏. When you said about friends not being much help that really stood out... I hope you find a way out soon, buddy. No one should find themselves in this situation, this day in age and at this time of year as well. All the best.
Couple of tips. Don't use ptfe tape on a gas regulator, they seal using a rubber o ring. When fitting the pipe on use a small amount of washing up liquid rubbed on the metal parts and heat the pipe ends in hot water. Makes it lots easier, and make sure they are fully on. Then make up a gently stired washing up liquid and water mix to spread around the connetors and look for bubbles. No bubbles no gas leaks.
Amazing !! I pray if i ever find myself in your situation i can handle it as well as the both of you. Subscribed to follow your progress. Certainly nothing to be embarrassed about in fact your an inspiration that being homeless does not have to mean there is no hope or giving up.
You're both gonna come out the other end of this and be grateful for the experience. You've got each other, you've got the plan, so hang in there, stick to it and stay on budget! I wish you the very best, I especially realize just how lucky I am in my current situation after watching, which being homeless myself would be the only only other option so thank you for sharing your experience and humbling us. I'm glad you had people come through for you, I really am.
To avoid a gas accident , lube connections with Vaseline , and slip them all the way on , making sure your o clips, are on both connections and done up tight . 👍Set up a tarp over your tent and cooking area , for when it rains . A dry tent is more comfortable to live in .
Just discovered you guys. So sorry to hear about your situation. I’ve liked and subscribed. Wish I could do more but just making it here too. Wishing you all the best. You both have a great attitude
I understand how hard this will be for you both having been homeless for just under 3 yrs and finally got my one bedroom home in November last year.....I pray you stay strong and get your wee home very soon 🙏
Hope you get something sorted soon, mind you look pretty sorted there. that site fee baffles me as that's more than the rent on a 3 bed house here . stay safe both 👍
There is something profoundly wrong when two working people paying taxes end up living in a tent. At the same time as people entering the country illegally and not contributed a penny in tax get put up in a hotel.
Your video was recommended to me by TH-cam . The title intrigued me . I’m sorry you’ve found yourselves in the situation you are in at the min . It’s so good to see you’re keeping positive and pls keep doing so .. I’m not going to go on and on but I just want to share a quick story with you , I lost my partner 4 years ago now he was only 47 and one day he was with me planning our future in the blink of a eye he was gone no warning no time for good bye . I’ve often thought I’d give up everything and live in a bus shelter just to have him back by my side.. You have each other and in my world that’s worth more than anything money could ever buy . Much love to you both and stay positive ❤️
We are so sorry to hear of your loss. That must have been tragic. You are right. We have each other, and that's all that matters at the end of the day. Everything else is just gravy. Thank you.
Viennese Whirls! My favourite!!! Your situation reminds me of the stories from my grandparents' youth during the worldwide "great depression" of 1929 onwards. Folk lost everything in that. The well-off backstabbing social climbers who'd previously looked down on folk were snubbed when they ended up on skid row, but folk rallied round folks like yourselves. Working families are under the cosh these days through no fault of their own. It's tough but inspiring to see you making the best of it. It takes a bit of mental adjustment and outlook to accept things as they are now. A sense of humour goes a long way to help. All the best.
Weirdly, im jealous , I'm stuck in a different rut completely. I'd love to enjoy the simplicity & escape the shite. Don't be embarrassed by sharing real life. May the road rise up to meet you!
i m glad at the present time we have a quality tent from when we went camping. It .breaks my heart the bills at the moment you can not enjoy anything as long as you can cook keep yourself well times of things to come for a lot of people 8 thousand waiting list for one area.
Shocking to see how you and your beautiful partner are having to live especially with what’s going on these past few days/weeks :( I won’t get started on the whole politic side of things as I’d never stop. Looks like you’ve got a safe place for now but make sure you get on to the housing daily as they’ll forget you no problem if you let them
Good for you for living so well in your situation. I was saying to my friend just the other day, years ago we lived in tribes in tents or things and it's mad that most people are not able to access simple things like housing anymore
Best of luck to you both and I hope you get sorted... (fellow Tamesidion)... I think I know the site you are on, lovely area... stay safe both of you, now subbed....
Ste, I'm so sorry you're going through this. As you say, everyone goes through their challenges, and life has definitely taught me that the pendulum of fate always ends up swinging the other direction. You've got a good setup - and the attitude, capabilities and spirit - to make it through. Thank you for sharing! You are appreciated.
Ste , on your camping gaz stove . You screwed on the pipe onto the hitching point . A way i found to get that pipe on is to spit onto the connection . I spotted the lack of jublee clip on the stove side . You dont want that end popping off . Although unlikely , they do pop off if they get warm , then you have a gas jet spraying around at worst . A tip for the midges , i got some inscense sticks that work a treat . Btw mrs ste is doing a great job ❤️❤️

May God bless you and answer your prayers
@@puzzlemagnet1957it’s the cost of everything. People are struggling to make ends meet.

Thank you for your amazing support. We appreciate it.
It's not embarrassing at all, you're warriors 💜

Praying for you both ❤

Thank you for your message, I like your positiveness, keep being you
You can tell it's reverse thread by the slots in the hex head. Fuels are usually reverse thread to stop connecting to non fuel systems.
😄 every day is a school day.
Brilliant story and very satisfying. Thank you.
Weirdly, im jealous , I'm stuck in a different rut completely. I'd love to enjoy the simplicity & escape the shite. Don't be embarrassed by sharing real life.
May the road rise up to meet you!
It’s not much but I hope it helps. God bless you both.
Thank you so much for your kindness. All the best from the both of us. Take care.
i m glad at the present time we have a quality tent from when we went camping. It .breaks my heart the bills at the moment you can not enjoy anything as long as you can cook keep yourself well times of things to come for a lot of people 8 thousand waiting list for one area.
It's soul destroying, to say the least. Thank you.
Shocking to see how you and your beautiful partner are having to live especially with what’s going on these past few days/weeks :( I won’t get started on the whole politic side of things as I’d never stop. Looks like you’ve got a safe place for now but make sure you get on to the housing daily as they’ll forget you no problem if you let them
Hope you and your missus are as well as can be mate.
Tent set up looks fantastic btw
Stay positive mate
Let me know if I can help in any way
Thank you. We are doing good. We are feeling positive with all this support around us. Means the world. Thank you once again.
Hope things get better bud and thoughts with you both and things get back on track… 👍👍
Thanks very much sir. Means alot.
Good for you for living so well in your situation. I was saying to my friend just the other day, years ago we lived in tribes in tents or things and it's mad that most people are not able to access simple things like housing anymore
Skills have been lost, that's for sure, and it's sad 😔
Ive just come across your channel! Im wishing you both the best. Sending hugs!
Thank you 😊
The hidden homeless of Britain. You don’t realise it until you nearly or actually end up joining them.
Good luck to you, you’re amazing.
Thank you for the kind comment.
i hope your situation improves bro what a sin it can happen to anyone, what a beautiful set up tho for the time spent there
Thank you, we were very lucky to have it when we did. It's very true. People don't realise how easily it can happen.
Thank you very much for the awesome words. Take care.
You are two steps ahead of those that are too comfortable. God bless you and your partner. ❤
Thank you for time and comment.
But they make great toast ❤️
