  • I've been dealing with negative thoughts for the past few months, and I'm finally understanding when, where and why it all started which helps me deal with it. Although it's tough at times, I don't see it as something "sad" but rather as an opportunity to learn important lessons that I can add to my luggage of life lessons. :)
    If you're dealing with something similar where it's affecting your mental health, please speak with someone about it - either a friend or a professional. You are NEVER alone.

      Hey Lana, same here I've not been struggling with negative self talk but being very sensitive to everything as well. I think this whole pandemic changed my ability to self-cope with all the large changes in my life. I think what you mentioned in your video is that I was being surrounded by negative energy as well. What I've trying to been changing is seeking therapy - there's free therapy in my country and distancing with people who don't make me feel good about myself :)! Oh also calling out a friend that they've been not been supportive or a good friend during my tough times :) Hope you get better soon!

      Hey, it's been alright. I've just been thinking about journaling, past regrets, future ambitions too though, like starting a lawncare business (for now), reading more on investing and talking to dental lab technicians as this has been something I've wanted to do as an expertise to help others. All and all, I'm learning to accept that life is 1 minute of positive thought after another. 1 minute of doing, 1 minute of loving, 1 of giving, one of appreciating, 1 of simply taking a moment of pause and watching a Lana B. video.

    It's a lie to always be happy. It's okay to struggle with negative thoughts. As Jordan Peterson said, life is 90% misery and fighting problems, and 10% be genuinely happy. The best thing is to be aware of what you're feeling. From there, you'll be able to find ways to get better

      This is very depressing and not true. No one should take it for serious and go on this path. If someone thinks like that, s/he should look for help. The truth is that you create your reality and if you think that it's normal to feel sad and miserable for 90% of your life you definitelly will.

      @Brown Delight I found it hard at first aswell, like how can you not think. But thats not the point meditation is very different from person to person, its more about being present, just relaxing. Fokus on your breath and how you feel at the moment, does your back hurt etc. Can you feel the air on your skin. Guided meditations also help alot because they tell you what to do, and what to fokus on. It dosnt matter if you think about stuff, just aknowlegde it and let the thought go.

    It never even occurred to me to name the negative voice in my head....I think past abuse/conditioning from others had me convinced that if I gave a name to the "voice inside my head" then I would surely be crazy....but in actuality it is a way to heal. It lifted a huge weight off my shoulders to realize that I could name this energy and get rid of it just the same as shedding toxic relationships. thank you so much!

    • @jujudiamond97
      @jujudiamond97 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      happy for you! i think the most important part in naming the voice is that by naming it, you are separating yourself from it and nolonger identified with it, therefore it has way less or no power over your perception of your life. when it's named as not us, we can more easily drop it. i'm learning this lesson too and your comment resonated with me.

    So here is the solution:
    Every time you hear that voice, listen to the words, and listen to the tone.
    Now all you need to do it's to make that voice saying the opposite words in the exact same tones.
    Example:
    That voice -
    "Hooo YOU ARE SOOOO BAADD!!!!
    Why can't you do it in the right way????"
    That voice again -
    "Hooo YOU ARE SOOOO GOODD!!!!
    It's AMAZING how good you do it!!!!"
    At first it will be a bit funny or weird. But very quickly you will notice that the bad voice isn't there anymore.

      Yonatan Tovim Or, you can meditate and let that thought drift away by itself rather than forcing positive thoughts. It’s like sleeping or relaxing. You can’t force yourself to relax or sleep. You let it happen. Thoughts are transitory. Unless you have deep beliefs that life is negative and depressing (which requires therapy), you don’t need to force negative thoughts out. Let them occupy your mind until they gently move on. You could also use energy practices like EFT to reduce negative thoughts and feelings by rebalancing the energy system of the body.

    • @mohammadpathan659
      @mohammadpathan659 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If you have negative thoughts it's because you had positive thoughts.
      The moment you stop judging if it's positive or negative it's good or bad you fall in a state of awareness. Watch your thoughts like you watch birds flying in the sky, thoughts are flying in the sky of your mind and you're far away from them and they have nothing to do with who you are. Let thoughts come and go without interrupting or judging them. "You can't let go of something until you let them come without interrupting or judging"
      We humans have a strong habit of connecting ourselves with every thought that comes to our mind and that's the reason why people are lost, they get depressed and they don't know who they are. Don't connect yourself with thoughts, watch them and you'll realize you're not your thoughts and they will stop bothering you forever. It won't be easy at first the mind will tell you noo you're what i tell you and you may believe it because of the strong habit of connecting yourself with every thought. It'll soon become easier and easier.

    Thank you very much for this video.
    I've always been a very positive person, especially when I was younger, but even if I'm still very grateful and optimist, with time I've become more realist and sometimes I tend to think negative. This made me feel like I was doing something wrong but actually it happens: we have to accept even those kind of regression, they are a part of life. Being positive does not mean to have toxic positivity, where everything has to be good and fine all the time, but it is about accepting who you are even if you get caught in some negativity: eventually it will pass and this will happen when you will ready to make a change.

    love this video. you're absolutely right not every moment has to be a lesson, nor do we need to have all the answers in every moment. i sometimes video record/journal entry and i was watching back over my videos from a couple years ago and noticed how judgmental and hard on myself i was being as i was reflecting on myself and my life then. i had a clear desire to bring my actions and emotions into alignment with my values, love, and truth, but then shat on myself when i was human and not perfect. this is harmful because the negative mind/negative self talk serves only to perpetuate this sense of lack of self worth. whereas in this moment and going forward, im trying to be mindful of when these negative thoughts arise and in the moment trying to let them go and re-center myself. its really difficult when these negative thoughts are attached to a heavily charged emotion because emotions carry incredible power of experience, so sometimes ill notice only after the fact that negativity has taken over. but with continued mindfulness practice and with focus on the fact that with conscious attention and redirection of awareness to positivity and wholeness, with acceptance of myself where i'm at with intention to grow, without the need to control, and with self compassion, dissolving negative mind is possible. i love this style of video where you just talk and share your current experiences. you're right its wonderful to watch a video and feel like you're not alone. what i like most is that its not a weepy video where you feel bad about yourself, but rather where you accept you dont currently have all the answers, but are on your journey. sending love

    Lana personally I have for many years essentially rid myself of most (not quite all) concepts of personal negativity or positivity. Part of the problem is that I find there is more of a moral component to living. And negative and positive are more impersonal words. Also many 'negative' experiences are important to pay attention to because they might be a sign of something wrong that requires going further into the darkness to find the answer. Likewise the quest for personal positivity can often be a mask we use to hide our moral darkness away from ourselves. I have operated under these principals for more than thirty years and have not been let down by them. Essentially the darkness is not something I feel a need to escape. And the joy is always an unexpected and welcome ray of light.

    Hey Lana, thanks for this type of video, it's different from what you usually do but it's still great and was so much nice to watch !
    I wanted to share with you and I guess everybody in the comment section my relation with negative thoughts. It's been a part of me for my entire life, I've unfortunately always been like that .. It's certainly coming from a lack of confidence that I have since my childhood, but for the past month/year, I really wanted to change that (or evolve, because you don't really change, you learn and then become a better version of yourself).
    I've talked about this with my closest friend for 10 years now, they support me every day and every time I bring this subject on the table. I try to be always be nice with me, to only bring and remember the good about what I've done today, what I've seen, learn, etc .. I really try to focus on the good things, even if they are bad. Not everything can be good, but you always learn something from "the bad".
    Some days are great, I feel really good about how I see myself, but others are more difficult even if they are more rare and rare ! :)
    So yeah, I really never comment TH-cam videos, it's one of my first time actually but I wanted to do and I'm very happy I did :)
    I hope everyone who's reading or watching this video will get to a point in their life where negative thoughts are litteraly crushed by the weight of positive thoughts ! We all can, and will do it !
    (Sorry for my english, clearly not my mother tongue but I've tried my best :P)

    There are some days where I feel nothing is going right, where I go over each detail of my day to determine what I did wrong, what could i do differently. Sometimes that's a good thing, it can help in future similar situations, but there are times when it can't help, I would go over each situation days, even weeks later criticising myself over what I did and what should I have done.
    Not sure if this helps, but stepping back, seeing situations as if someone else did them and you're looking on at them, sometimes it helps to get those negative thoughts away but sometimes it doesn't help. If anyone else has some other things they do please let me know.

    • @blastanoizz2
      @blastanoizz2 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      For me it's the same thing, but in episodes of days/weeks in a row every once in a while. Sometimes it just doesn't go away on itself.
      When I've been feeling like this the entire day or longer, I try to make some time in the evening or afternoon to just unplug a bit and write everything down what's bothering me.
      It doesn't necessarily make me feel better, but it helps me getting myself out of my head and just feel a bit more at ease with it all.
      I used to be really restless about it, but I find it easier to just take it easy during those days. Sometimes it's the little things like easier to prepare meals or instead of all the dishes just washing two or three. Not getting 'everything done' is always better than not respecting your limits.
      Some days we just can't get things to work out for some reason, and that's okay too.

      Wanting my reality to be different, not accepting my mistakes, not liking my body, wanting a different life, missing my past and wanting to return. I have anxiety, fear, depression, social anxiety, I am shy around other people, Insomnia, excessive hungry and sugar addiction. I have an Unhealthy habit of crying with Music at night. Overthinking, all of those things produce pain in my chest. And yes, I regret about many things that I didn't made in a properly form, it's not what I wanted at the end. I made wrong decisions, I wish I acted in a different way, currently I hear negative voices inside my head saying negative affirmations like everyone wish me failure and bad look, and more things. It is negative self-talk. We are not alone, at the moment it seems really dark and difficult to get out of the darkness, but everything gonna be okay 👌

    "Better out than in, I always say" - Shrek. Sometimes we need to listen to our problems and have it articulated out loud, and that can be a solution in itself. At least it's conceptually laid out there so you've got the sucker in some form of parameter (might be wrong at first but it's a good start because then you use it as a benchmark and later make further ongoing discoveries to see if it's worse or better than you originally first conceived - it's like another journey you go on with continual refinement and adjustment to a better place)... whether or not it can be solved is another matter, but as long as you've made it consciously aware you can keep your eyes on it and ensure it doesn't make matters worse... it's about survival first before thriving, in my opinion. So then conceive and make small actions when it does get worse (and note it down ASAP even at the slightest turn to the worse) and experiment and make mistakes till it gets less worse and you find better ways to manage it... from there, a long term solution may even present itself - whether the environment gives you a clue or you happen to conceive of a better way after many experiments and/or repeated experiences from noticing patterns over time. And it starts with small incremental steps, and paying close attention to both the processes and it's resulting impacts.

    I do have a title for this format, but one I am quite certain you would not consider, "Wisdom For The Ages." As a man of 61 years I connect with your insights in a way that goes straight to the emotional and critical mind, and for that, I can never fully express my gratitude. As one who has carried the label "introvert" from the beginning, your fresh perspective has given me a new angle from which I can review the journals I have kept since my teen years. You have been a great help, and I look forward to future content.
