I really enjoy those jogs where I forget my headphones... then I can just listen to nature & my own thoughts. Always get a few good ideas too and remember things I had forgotten.
Lana I understand your anxiousness when you think about the fact that you can’t possibly learn everything there is in a lifetime, but I try to have another perspective that actually makes me very happy: there will always be new interesting things to learn and to experience, and something new to make you excited. When you’re someone that is curious and interested in so many things, that means that life will never be boring to you and you can always learn something new. I think your curiosity is something to cherish en to be grateful for 😊
Omg this is so true! Totally forgot i used to look at my to do list like that. Of course it is never empty, that would be so weird, not having anthing i would want to do? That is impossible. So i love your reminder and the nuance with learning new things. Can't imagine knowin everything, then what? So cool, thanks!
Alright. These 5 habits for me are: 1) Cleaning my studio first thing in the morning - very therapeutic and I consider it my first small "win" for the day 2) Praying and reading Quran - connecting with my faith is just so soothing to the soul 3) Updating my planner - gives me a sense of control and some sort of an overview of my week 4) Talking to my loved one - instantly calms my anxiety just having a solid support system, even if it is just one person 5) Long and warm showers - last but definitely not the least. I like to think showering is free therapy Bonus: washing the dishes, I can meditate without too many "thought bubbles" floating around about how unproductive I am or whatnot, because washing dishes for me is productive. P.S. These might be the bare minimum for some but it is not for me. But hey, we're all here because we want to feel calm, don't we? Thanks again for sharing, Lana.
A calm state of mind: "Being able to experience the moment for what it is, without disruptive thoughts." - Lana Blakely, 2021 Seriously, an achievement to be proud of amidst all our day-to-day happenings.
Staying calm allows you to think logically and take decisions accordingly. Clarity of mind is extremely important while you are dealing with problems. If your mind is free and relaxed, your clarity on thoughts shall provide the solution to you. Staying calm allows you to discuss things rather than fights👍
I feel extremely calm when I learn languages. Many people think I "study" a language like it is a subject in school/university. But that's not true. It makes me feel okay with making mistakes while learning a new word/phrase in that language because I know I will be happy when I get it right later.
It calms me when I’m either painting, drawing, or journaling and while it starts off as a couple of minutes, hours pass by as I sit in silence and the world around me feels as if no time has passed at all.
whenever i watch your videos it reminds me of how big the world is and how there are a lot of things that are bound to happen for me in the future, it makes me think how great it is to live, to live for the hope of it all
I'm so glad that I found you! I can relate to you a lot as an INFJ, overthinker and anxious person.. I love your videos with tips on overthinking and anxiety and I hope that you'll make some more soon!
I love it when I’m studying a textbook, when I get into a made bed, watering my plants, Organizing my bookshelf, flipping through favorite books, sewing, crafting, stretching, etc. One of my favorite things is when I cheer and were stunting, the feeling in your muscles as you throw a basket or hit a stunt is surreal. Of course to top the list is praying, it’s just so comforting and I get to thank GOD for all the things that make life so great.
I really like the last part what u said there about thanking god for being able to experience all of the things. Gratitude is so powerful 🙏❤️ I’m really happy for u that ur able to do all of those things and live a happy life 😊
I can relate to your thought about wanting to read and learn everything and then realising the finite amount of time we have on this planet, but that also makes me appreciate more the books and the info i get.
Placing a flower on my ear always makes me just feel more comfortable and serene, in some way similar to what Lana described. Also, I'm a boy and I'll usually throw the flower away or pretend I was going to give it to someone if anyone but my friends starts looking at me. What more can I say? J'adore les fleurs.
I've found mindfully observing thoughts to be the best pathway to peace. Detaching from them and becoming 'the observer' rather than 'the thinker' as Eckhart Tolle says.
Im in love with how humble you are, when you talk about certain topics or give an advice you always remind who watches the video that you’re a human just like us .. i love that
For me to keep mentally calm and happy, I meditate every morning, do yoga every morning, run 3 times a week and complete 5 hiit workouts a week. Oh, and I also journal every night too ❤️ P.S Happy Birthday Lana! I hope you’ve had the loveliest day. Sending hugs from Manchester, England x
whenever I feel overwhelmed, i bring myself myself back to the moment by focusing my attention on everything I'm physically feeling, hearing, my surroundings, as well as my breathing-- in short, literally just bringing my wandering and overthinking mind back to my body and taking things one step at a time . I also avoid multitasking these days to help me my focus and be more single-minded/ undivided in my thoughts--- Using the Headspace app/ meditating taught me all these things and the importance of being present in the moment.
Thank you, really needed this video. A few hours ago I felt the most depressed I've felt in a long time. Now after watching this video I feel like I've enough motivation to start working on myself again
Just signed up for the newsletter! Watching Lana's videos calms me. But reading and learning from comments by her audience also calm my mind. Her audience is full of considerate and inspiring persons! To me. a moment in which calming of mind matters is when I see somebody expresses her anger towards me. I used to react with anger in those instances, but recently I feel almost no anger, as a result of, I guess, my mindfulness practice. Lately, instead of being angry, my mind is calm even in the midst of a turbulence of unsettling feelings of the other. Thank you for offering a wonderful addition to the peaceful moments of my life.
Reading with a cup of tea. It's a little ritual that makes me quite at peace and also has an utility: it keeps my hands busy, keeping me from bad habits such as biting my nails.
I really enjoy taking a cold shower morning, workout, listening to music and Podcasts, reading and having a cup of coffee, baking really gives me a lot of joy
Love these, we can relate to all of them! Cold showers in the morning are the worst but also the best haha. One thing that really helped us reduce stress was learning about stoicism- we made a video about it on our channel, would love for you to check it out, since you seem like a super likeminded person! Hope it's helpful 💛😊
What calms me: watching sunrises and sunsets and being out in nature without worrying about a future event or think about something negative from the past❤️
One simple habit that calms me is watching your videos. They are so aesthetic, pure, soothing, and beautiful, and last but not least your beautiful voice
All of those are great points. It may be strange, but cleaning/tidying helps me clear my head. The physical clearing of space will help keep my subconscious busy while my mind is free to relax. All with the added benefit of having better kept home.
Lana, thank you for your presence on TH-cam. You have impacted my life greatly. I deal with anxiety and depression and so often your videos are just my lifeline. The calmness you exude just resonates with the inner me. You are loved. You are amazing. You are enough. ❤
rn what literally keeps me calm is watching your videos, i hope you won't stop creating inspiring videos. other than that, making and drinking coffee, playing video games, watering my plants, feeding my dogs, looking at the horizon, listening to the wind or rain, and reading leisurely.
Love it! Al of the activities mentioned basically require you to have a single-pointed focus... and usually when the mind has something else to focus on, it lets go of the anxious thoughts (coz the mind can’t think of two things at the same time)... and hence you feel calmer! 🙌
I love her. Her positive testimony of truths. Her narrative journey is so clear and easy to understand. She is inspiring and truthful about her experience and feeling. I pray that she keeps her journey going. One day she will be successful. I have never doubted God to mold her for who she is to help others. God bless her.
You're definitely that calming presence I gravitate to when i feel overwhelmed with busy days - days spent in a crazy work frenzy. But reading - reading and journaling has definitely calmed me since I was 10 years old and they still work for me 13 years later ✨
Walking without any music gives you the chance to disconnect and nowadays during the cold, winter days, it's so much easier to stay at home. But walking, even if it be for 15 minutes in the cold just allows you to reflect, which I think allows you to mature and as a result, just develop better emotional stability.
the cake looks scrumptious. Btw, it has always been relaxing hearing you talk about anything with us. Also, I'm starting to read a lot this year, and at the same time, do other hobbies and find new ones as well.
Happy Birthday ❤️🎉 I'm a person who has this weird habit of watching TH-cam at 2x speed but this is a channel where I keep it to the normal speed just because your voice is so soothing and relaxing, it really helps me be more calm, so I've been bingeing your videos lately.
I love everything you said, and I so relate to feeling anxious about all the books I'll never read or all the things I'll never learn. But then I realize that's not a thing; it's a gift to have so much love for something like learning and reading. I take my kindle to bed, too, instead of my phone! And it helps. I also always carry a book with me if I go anywhere, so it never bothers me when people are late -- I just get extra time to read. Walks and nature also make me feel better, like you said just being fully present in this moment without disruptions. Thank you for your beautiful video and soothing presence.
Happy Birthday for yesterday! The snow there looks great. It's sunny in the UK for a change so I'm going on a nice long walk. If I was doing a list of things that calm me 'watching Lana Blakely videos' would have to be on the list. So many relatable things in this video I'll not bore you with but a little advice for books and walks, if you're going daily to places you go regularly and you've took in the scenery many times already then an audiobook is quite good because you focus on that while wandering without distractions. The audiobook format works better than reading in certain circumstances, I listened to Dune last year and I would not have enjoyed reading it as much as listening to it, plus it would have took a large portion of my reading time and sometimes certain books are a little daunting and put you off reading when you still have 600 pages left, this was voiced by different characters, had ambient music and sounds, and it made it easier just having all the weird names and places pronounced. I usually listen to music at home too but TH-cam has a lot of interesting short audiobooks (some an hour or less, some about 4 hours), for the slower ones you can put the speed up as the slow reading might cause you to loose interest at times. They're good for when cleaning or cooking while listening through headphones. Just signed up for your newsletter too 🙂
Happy birthday, Lana! I'm so grateful that you and your channel exist. You always have such incredible insight and advice to give and I appreciate all the work that you do. I hope you have a wonderful day and an even better year. ☺
Thank you for make this Lana. Sometimes I be wondering how tf you keep it all together. It’s so hard not to get worked up, frazzled, angry, or frustrated...especially when we’re all feeling stagnant from covid lockdowns etc. hopefully this helps a lot of folks.
you inspired me a lot, especially when talked about books and taking it to the bathroom :). I started reading novels since 2 months ago and I found myself in a huge world of thoughts and ideas. Thank You, Lana!
that part about not having enough time to read everything and learn everything is absolutely true and I feel the same as you. Thanks for sharing! I like your videos!
Hi everybody here are some habits that clam me : Cleaning my room Listening to classical music 🎼 Reading a book because it allow me to escape from my reality for some hours Feel gratitude for the things that I have in my life Looking at the sky and walking Yoga and meditation 🧘♂️ Simply breathing it helps me to stay in the present moment . Watching Lana’s videos , they comfort me a lot ❤️ When I wake up I don’t take my phone but I’ll di hour late it release stress and anxiety. Reminder be kind to you and everyone ❤️🇮🇹
Sweeden is definitely on my list of places to visit. Oh, by the way, I was born with a very mellow and calm demeanor. I never sweat the small stuff and have eliminated all those out of my life who have a penchant for drama. Life is good and calm and peaceful... Just right for an introvert
I still get disturbed sometimes but I am reminding myself that there are things I can't control or experiences I must go through. I am far from being calm and collected but I'm trying my best to appreciate little things that I used to not give much attention.
I was so sceptical about meditation. I just didint get the point. It took me an anxiety episode leading to a depression to understand how amazing it is. I am on my 20th day in a row now and I dont think I will skip even one day day until I die :) I also started writing thanks to you. It was always something I wanted to do but I always felt like I didint have the skills. Now I dont care how good it is, I just write until I feel like I am done.
I've recently discovered the calming effect of taking my dog out for a walk without music! It may not solve my problems but surely makes me feel a little bit better, THIS along with taking a warm bath or simply a shower, decluttering and cleaning my room etc etc...i'm trying with meditation as well recently but still not bringing me many benefits haha
I also feel calm when I do yoga! its such a beautiful momento of flow, another thing that often gives me that type of feeling is turning the lights off and putting some lovely music.✨
I was drawn to this video because I can always use advice about how to be calmer. I think reading definitely helps. I can feel my breathing slow down when I'm focused on a book.
I am living in Sweden right now - doing a PhD - as an italian expat, learning a bit of swedish and french as well. I understand you, progressing with french gives me so much joy :) I love that language so much. I am curious about Swedish as well! :)
Ciao Dorotea! How fun! As an Albanian expat living in the USA, I am trying to learn Italian. It is so fun to stretch towards a new language and culture.

Habit that calms me:
1. Watching Lana's videos and listening to her angelic voice... 😇
Yes! Sometimes when I'm really stressed or anxious, I watch her videos just to hear her voice.
So true 💜
I would say you don't need a video at all, having in mind this voice. Try to just listen to it!
Yes, certainly

1. early morning yoga
2. studying language
3. going on long walks
4. reading more

:) Audio books seems to help a bit!
@@intentionalliving7326 indeed! I just started listening to audio books very recently while working 🙈 and its nice 🥰
Your videos really calm me down...also reading makes a lot of difference. I am trying to read more and more everyday.. :)

Reading a book because it allow me to escape from my reality for some hours
Feel gratitude for the things that I have in my life
Looking at the sky and walking
Yoga and meditation 🧘♂️
Simply breathing it helps me to stay in the present moment .

(and also she is one of the guidance in my life)
I don't think i've ever been this early **gives thumbs up before starting the video**
:)) ❤️
Sweeden is definitely on my list of places to visit. Oh, by the way, I was born with a very mellow and calm demeanor. I never sweat the small stuff and have eliminated all those out of my life who have a penchant for drama. Life is good and calm and peaceful... Just right for an introvert
I feel calm when I am there in the moment and can accept it as it is. ✨
YEs, without adding some interpretation to it
@@intentionalliving7326 Exactly!
I still get disturbed sometimes but I am reminding myself that there are things I can't control or experiences I must go through. I am far from being calm and collected but I'm trying my best to appreciate little things that I used to not give much attention.
Thank you for making this video, I can relate with it. Especially the habit of reading more and more
I was so sceptical about meditation. I just didint get the point. It took me an anxiety episode leading to a depression to understand how amazing it is. I am on my 20th day in a row now and I dont think I will skip even one day day until I die :)
I also started writing thanks to you. It was always something I wanted to do but I always felt like I didint have the skills. Now I dont care how good it is, I just write until I feel like I am done.
Happy birthday Lana❤❤❤❤🎁
I've recently discovered the calming effect of taking my dog out for a walk without music! It may not solve my problems but surely makes me feel a little bit better, THIS along with taking a warm bath or simply a shower, decluttering and cleaning my room etc etc...i'm trying with meditation as well recently but still not bringing me many benefits haha
I also feel calm when I do yoga! its such a beautiful momento of flow, another thing that often gives me that type of feeling is turning the lights off and putting some lovely music.✨
I do a quick 5 minute yoga routine every moring that includes graditute. It's amazing how well it calms me and gets me ready to take on the day!
I relate to a lot of Lana is saying. As for me, my calming habits are: Muay Thai, mastering Russian, volunteering, eating healthy,
and travel :)
