    Get an exeggutor with harvest (hidden ability). Get skill swap (move tutor). Get Bestow (move). Give leppa berry to exeggutor (before battle).
    In battle, use skill swap, use bestow, use false swipe (u can switch out for this). The caller will always refill his pp with leppa berry and use ability harvest right after. So you can chain forever

    • @joeyawesomeness6142
      @joeyawesomeness6142 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +15

      Definitely do this, it's much less hassle and risk than the usual method. If you do this method you can also use a Pokémon with Pressure to increase the opponents call rate which is very useful for some mons, I like Absol for this as it has false swipe but you can use anything really.

    • @KyzenEX

      @@DarkmoonNoctisWhat's hard to understand?
      Harvest allows a pokémon to reuse a berry they already consumed, in this case, a Leppa Berry.
      Leppa Berries restore 10 pp, the chance of Harvest kicking in less than 10 turns is basically 100%. Leppa berries are used when a mon runs out of pp for all moves, this means, the mon will restore 10 pp and "restore" the Leppa berry before running out of these 10 pp, reusing it when it runs out, rinse and repeat. The mon will never Struggle.
      Bestow gives your Caller the Berry. Skill Swap gives the Harvest ability to the Caller.
      You use Skill Swap then Bestow for efficiency, then swap out to do a False Swipe and a) sweep the Allies with a mon that has Pressure *_after_* using an Adrenaline orb, or b) if the False Swipe mon doesn't have Pressure/can't sweep, switch out to a mon that has Pressure and can sweep.Use an Adrenaline orb before starting to sweep.
      Enjoy.

    • @himuraforever3427
      @himuraforever3427 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      I prefer to use Hidden Ability Trevenant with Skill Swap and Trick, because if a Pokemon's holding an item, Bestow will fail.

    A bit late, but you might want to pin this: in Sun and moon only, after reaching 255 encounters in a chain, it will reset all the way back to 1 encounter after the next mon appears. This was fixed in USUM, but it's important to keep in mind.

      If you don't want the Pokemon you chain to struggle and kill himself/herself, you should Skill Swap the abily Harvest onto him/her and give him/her a Leppa berry. The ability Harvest make it so that it has a 50% chance that the Pokemon will recycle the berry and use it again so it doesn't run out of PP. Use Sunny Day every few turn, because in sunlight the Harvest ability goes from 50% to 100% chance of the Pokemon recycling that berry. I thought everyone knew that. And you made that video only 2 years ago. I always have Pokemon with the Harvest ability and moves like thunderwave (to paralyze the shiny so it doesn't call for help just before I knock out the other Pokemon, and False Swipe the shiny which makes it much easier to catch), False Swipe, and Sunny Day. SOS chaining is my absolute favorite way to shiny hunting I’ve gotten a lot of shiny like this and in my opinion, but sometimes I find the chaining itself boring because it's such a repetitive process, but the reward is so worth it and I can listen to Youtuve videos in the background to keep me entertained. Not too loud though because I have to be able to hear the sound of my game. I was told online in many guides in no uncertain term that I should never shiny hunt with the sound turned off because I might acidentally "kill" my shiny if I don't heart the shiny chime star animation sound.
      People are very angry because in the newest games, like Scarlet and Violet, the sound and sparkle/star were removed on overworld shines and it's frustrating for the players. That makes shiny hunting more difficult. Can you actually believe that they make sleeping Pokemon glow bright blue but they won’t add any effects to shinies? This is stupid. Also, I'm not gonna buy a copy of gen 9 games any time soon now that they killed the GTS (trading with random strangers from around the world, that was good for disabled and akward people or introvert people who don't have friends and have a hard time fitting in, by removing the GTS Nintendo made people within those oppressed minorities feel even more lonely and isolated than ever before, so Nintendo is no longer inclusive of minorities and marginalized people), and killed the Hall of Fame and cut like over 70% of all Pokemon out of the game just because they wanted to do away with the National dex (this wouldn't happened if they hadn't created over 1000 Pokemon and had settled for a couple hundreds, but they are so greedy and obsessed with money despite the fact that Nintendo has billions of yen in the bank and far more money than over a dozen of us could ever gather in a lifetime that they'd rather cut over 70% of the Pokemon in the next game then just stop creating thousands more Pokemon and dozens more generations). Nope. Anyway, I was disappointed by what I saw of Scarlet and Violet in live playthroughs on TH-cam, Scarlet and Violet is worse and more boring than Sword and Shield (at least Sword and Shield had interesting characters, especially Piers and Marnie which are my favorite gen 8 characters and I'm also a big fan of Dark-type Pokemon and Dark-type specialists and it was about time that there's a Dark-type gym and badge).
      I much prefer gen 7. During the pandemic and the lockdown/confinment I did a ton of shiny hunting in my Ultra Sun, I S.O.S chained and caught over 100 shinies. Now with all the shinies I got from S.O.S chaining, wormhole hunting, Womnder Trade and the GTS, I must be near 200 shinies in my Ultra Sun. But I think the best shiny method is indeed S.O.S chaining and it lands you a lot more shinies than the complicated methods from previous gens. I hate that Gamefreak didn't think of that methid sooner and that they didn't have this method available as an option in every game, because without that method available to us, shiny hunting is difficult and tedious. I never managed to get shinies in other Pokemon games, except maybe two that were like 10 or 12 years apart or some shit. Now I have hundreds of shinies. It's like Gamefreak doesn't want to make getting shinies easier and a selected few selfish idiots in the fandom say that shinies should be extremely rare, very difficult to get and reserved for a privileged few. People like that irritate me and get on my last nerve, it's like they want to be the only ones who get shinies when others have toiled far harder than them and for far longer just to get one miserable shiny every 10 or 12 years or some shit. That's frustrating because that's hours upon hours of those 10 0r 12 years that you'll never get back and that you didn't see your toil and efforts being rewarded.
      Have a nice day,
      Mimi.

    I just want to vent. I decided to shiny hunt beldum on the route with the miniors. It's disgusting what you have to do to not lose the chain. I actually lost a shiny to self damage where a chain of 170. Here's some tips:
    1. Some mons have self damage moves. Beldum uses take down, as such, bring a ghost type.
    2. You will constantly run out of pp, so you're gonna need a lot of leppa berries.
    3. When you're doing the harvest skill swap/bestow and trick... trick, remember that only the caller has infinite pp.
    What happened to me was: i got a shiny beldum. It's catch rate is fucking 3 (the lowest in the damn franchise) and it ran out of pp before i caught it and it killed itself with struggle, which, incidentally, is what i do since that happened.

    I wanted to mention that in your description, you listed Chansey as being a Pokémon with a call rate of 0. Did You perhaps mean Blissey? I use Chansey in SOS chains a lot to get EXP!
    Finally, I have a question that I’m still not really sure of…
    In terms of Cute Charm, does the Pokémon with the ability have to be on the field, or does it just have to be in the front of your party (fainted)? I saw a post *swearing* that the latter was true, but then saw *another* post swearing the former was lol… I’ve heard that Synchronize also works as long as it is the Pokémon in the front of the party, but I’ve never been 100% certain.

    I shiny hunt in this game every day for the last 2-3 months. I’ve gotten quite a few shinies. My longest runs were over 1000 encounters. I got one at 680, 715, 1083, and 1630 which is super annoying because I have shiny charm. But on average I’m still below odds because I get a lot in less than 100 attempts sometimes.
    I wrote a program on my graphing calculator where you input the PP of the Pokémon and the pokemon Pokédex number and then it will find its call rate. Then you can input the call rate modifier (health color and orb) and you just push 2 buttons to keep track of turns and encounters and it will tell you when to switch to a new “caller” so there is two 99% chances that it will attempt to call before running out of PP.
    After I find a shiny, I hit enter and it stores the number of attempts and accumulated chances into a list.

    I got a shiny growlithe as my first hunt on my first ever playthrough within 100 encounters, 60 of those being starting chains as i learned.
    I'm now at 400+ roggenola encounters.
    I am now watching this video, not for educational purposes, but to reassure myself I'm not going crazy and that it will come soon.
    I'd love more videos, but tbh the downside of such an easy simple system is there isn't a whole lot to talk about, other than actual statistical analysis.
    I'd be curious what the 1/315 means in terms of time. What are the odds you spend an hour hunting? Two? 10?
    But that's tough to translate given how varied the time is between encounters.

    • @ryanhilliker375
      @ryanhilliker375 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I used my brother's copy of moon to look for a harvest phantump. Got a shiny at an 11, and am genuinely kind of upset because I feel like i ruined my odds!
      I just want my roggenrola and to play the darn game 😂😂
      Oh, and no, I didn't find a harvest phantump before he wanted his game back. With needing a later game mon for entrainment and the tutors for the moves, I'm just gonna keep brute forcing it with a recycle megnamite with shock wave until my roggenrola sparkles.
      I'm so frustrated 😂
      Idk how many encounters I'm at, but I soft reset when magnemite hits level 35, and I'm starting at level 20, and hit that mark twice, with a few resets sprinkled in for human error ending chains.

    Does Curse Body breaks chains? I've been using my Marowak to try getting a shiny Pichu but I've passed through many turns that I've lost my count. Not only that, does unning yourself out of PP on one of your moves break the chain as well? Is there any truth to the idea of having a big Pokemon with a scary face out first means the target Pokemon will call more consistently? I seem to have way more luck with Pokemon that are tough to get to call consistently to actually call more consistently with Garchomp out. Might just be me though, lol!
