The King sealed it away and gave everyone free will and the ability to evolve. The Radiance didn't take kindly to that, and created the Plague (that orange crap on everyone). In return, the King created the Hollow Knights from the Void to act as living containment units for the Plague; in the normal ending, you fulfill that roll when you defeat the old Hollow Knight. In the true ending, you confront The Radiance itself; those black ghosts are the previous Hollow Knights, and at the end, you sacrifice your individuality and become part of the Void to kill The Radiance for good, thus ending the plague.
The Radiance isn't a God but a Higher Being which "created" Seer and her kind (not all bugs). Corruption came from Great Wyrm which essence reincarnated as Pale King who sealed The Old Light in Black Egg since "No blazing kin. Only one light shall shine against the darkness." Next time use official information and not self-content.

Basically we are created by the Void to sacrifice ourselfs like the "Hollow Knight" did long time ago to seal the Wyrm. The Radiance and Wyrm possibly aren't the same thing as Radiance is the god and Wyrm is powerful as a god. It seems like Wyrm's plague and Radiance are working together on getting out of the seal. Oh and Wyrm is dead it's his corpse that started the infection. The king not only sealed Radiance but Wyrm aswell.
I think this is one of the few instances where a force of light is the bad guy and the force of darkness is the good guy. I like it. It's a change in dynamic.

You don't kill the Dung Defender, you can go back later and talk to him. He talks about how he thought you were plagued at first, but now he realizes you two don't have to fight.

Always makes me interested seeing the various orders people took on the bosses. I distinctly remember getting stuck on Mantis Lords right off of Hornet and refusing to move on until I did them even though the game encourages you to visit the City Of Tears to upgrade your nail before you challenge them. Also interesting to see Elder Hu being the first Dream Warrior boss in this video instead of Xero like usual.
Well you certainly fought these guys in an interesting order. The mantis lords were the fourth boss I faced and I didn’t even know about the dream bosses until after I’d beaten watcher knight.
I think what I like the most is how the Mantis Lords fight begins, like even the music doesn't start until they abruptly stand up to face their challenger.~ I like Hornet too, but the Mantis Lords fight just appeals to me, for some reason.
The ladies in this game that don't get killed respect you. I heard the Mantis Lords are female, so in addition to Hornet, the Mantis Lords are very much feminism done right: equal bosses, not too strong but not too weak, and when you beat them, they know that's because you won fair and square, so they offer respect. The Traitor Lord is their brother, and from what I heard, the Grey Mourner's lover was the Traitor Lord's daughter. Gotta love the complicated family tree these Mantis leaders have..

Fun Fact: Defeating Zote in the Colleseum of Fools for the first time gives you an achievement, geo, charm notch and finally a good effort cuz you finally killed the heck out of your rival. I think one of my favorite parts is when you are about to defeat the collector and he starts choking and you just have to start tearing him apart with your nail ( I'd like to think this is the hollow knight taking out all their aggression for the crazy SH*t they had to do to rescue all the grubs.
I saw a guide for the Hornet boss, and it told me that I shouldn’t pursue in the air, since she might hit everything in her range, but when I fought the boss after that, she started doing the same exact attack on the ground, as if it were normal.

RiderGuy364 Hes still sane yet more hostile because of the plague, this game is really dark and theres a reason you kill without remorse, your a vacuum of the plague, your a black hole and your job is to contain and collect the plague, in the end you become the hollow knight and become sentient and have a conscience or kill the plague itself by ending the god who made it, a god who hates freedom and has less of a sense for people then the void does, because all the hollow knights are a part of void
You don't kill the Dung Defender, you can go back later and talk to him. He talks about how he thought you were plagued at first, but now he realizes you two don't have to fight.
Kinda happy Dung defender lives. He seems nice.

Always makes me interested seeing the various orders people took on the bosses. I distinctly remember getting stuck on Mantis Lords right off of Hornet and refusing to move on until I did them even though the game encourages you to visit the City Of Tears to upgrade your nail before you challenge them. Also interesting to see Elder Hu being the first Dream Warrior boss in this video instead of Xero like usual.

The mantis lords were the fourth boss I faced and I didn’t even know about the dream bosses until after I’d beaten watcher knight.

I think what I like the most is how the Mantis Lords fight begins, like even the music doesn't start until they abruptly stand up to face their challenger.~ I like Hornet too, but the Mantis Lords fight just appeals to me, for some reason.

The ladies in this game that don't get killed respect you. I heard the Mantis Lords are female, so in addition to Hornet, the Mantis Lords are very much feminism done right: equal bosses, not too strong but not too weak, and when you beat them, they know that's because you won fair and square, so they offer respect. The Traitor Lord is their brother, and from what I heard, the Grey Mourner's lover was the Traitor Lord's daughter. Gotta love the complicated family tree these Mantis leaders have..
False knight feels insane the first time I came across him, but after having beaten failed champion, the approach to the first boss fight can only be described as calmly smacking

Fun Fact: Defeating Zote in the Colleseum of Fools for the first time gives you an achievement, geo, charm notch and finally a good effort cuz you finally killed the heck out of your rival.

I saw a guide for the Hornet boss, and it told me that I shouldn’t pursue in the air, since she might hit everything in her range, but when I fought the boss after that, she started doing the same exact attack on the ground, as if it were normal.
