Ok. Never thought to leave the panel in the folder to do the inking. That's awesome. I always wondered what to do with pocket fence. Now I have a few ideas. Thanks.
I especially liked the stencil and the embossed folder tips. They looked fantastic. I love blending with oxide. Thank you so much for another helpful video.
Awesome techniques and tips. I like them all but if I had to choose, I would say the stencil one. Thank you for your informative and inspirational videos.❤❤
Thank you for sharing this, I have now learnt about using white ink on white paper to blend out an ink to a white, and also using white ink to lighten another colour. Great techniques.
Great idea to leave the embossed panel in the folder for adding highlights. If you have a busy background stencil, you can ink in one colour, then rotate the stencil by 90 degrees and ink again with white (or black) to get a very cool effect.
I loved your technique of dulling the busy patterned paper for the sentiment to stand out. I never thought to leave the paper in the embossing folder, but that makes so much sense. I always learn so much from you! Tyfs.
I love my oxides and origonal distress inks but unfortunately my picket fence was so dry when I got it I can’t really use it . The black one was the same . Must buy the white again and pray it doesn’t happen again .
I have only had that issue once, with Tattered Rose. How about buying the reinker instead so you KNOW you have the ink on the pad and can top it up when needed?
I haven’t invested in them but it’s a good idea . I do have a white pigment ink I’ll use that instead . I use it for the bokeh technique so I’ll try the other techniques aswell .@@LouCollins
Hi Lou. I had 3 favorites. The stencil butterfly, the embossing folder, and the one with the colored circles. Learned something new on each one of them. Plus I just ordered a picket fence ink along with some other oxides and so am looking forward to being able to try out these new ideas when my order comes. Thank you so much for all your great ideas and color instructions. Loving them all and learning a lot too.😊❤
Hello - I am a new subscriber and new to following you Lou. Found you through a few collaborative videos you and Christine Stokes have produced. Sidebar note Christine introduced me to IndigoBlu and I am now a huge follower and fan. Quick two comments: One love the ink on your arms, yes I too sport a good deal of ink and plan on sporting some more soon. Second comment: You are a very amazing artist, a grand teacher and a joy to watch and follow. Always open to learning new techniques and a good jog of a memory when we tend to stop using one technique and then lo and behold we recall "oh yes I can do that too" spark of a brain cell firing off. To you keep on creating and teaching, and to all never give up your love of art!
I liked (and learned) not to remove the cardstock when enhancing a stenciled image! Also creating a resting place for the sentiment was a cool technique. I've tried toning down bright colors using a light gray, but never a white ink. Thanks for this very informative tutorial.
That softening of color technique can also be done by picking up the ink lightly with the brush and/or "blending off" on a scrap paper first. I have seen Natasha Foote do this. Using the white to soften down and blend does create an interesting effect, fun to try!
Wonderful ideas! I am a huge fan of Distress Oxides, but don’t use my non-oxide Distress inks much. Does the picket fence come in Distress Oxide? I think I must get it, after seeing this video! I have a lot of busy patterned paper, and although I loved ALL your techniques with white ink, I think my fave has to be the blending of white on the patterned paper, so the sentiment really pops! TFS! You do the BEST videos! I have white pigment ink…would that work for any of these techniques?
Sometimes I give my pad a light rub with a wet wipe to remove excess colour, or if I KNOW I’m going to be transferring colours I’ll press some white ink into a mat and pick it up from there instead
I've never had the oxide inks, and came late to the distress inks party, as I found them very expensive. I use white pigment ink instead, in the hope that they will work as well as the oxides. Do they, though?
Oh, and I really like the helpful hint about leaving the card in the embossing folder while inking the raised part. Genius!!
They are all fabulous but it’s between the embossing folder and the butterflies 🦋
WOW!!! Lou, this is SO COOL!!! Love the butterflies❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️
Well, I now need picket fence! Those butterflies on the Kraft card is amazing.
Ok. Never thought to leave the panel in the folder to do the inking. That's awesome. I always wondered what to do with pocket fence. Now I have a few ideas. Thanks.
Glad it was helpful!
Love them all Lou, but fav is the butterfly one 💕
Love all the techniques, of course. But the embossing folder tip and the bokeh are my absolute favorites! Thank you so much for sharing!
I especially liked the stencil and the embossed folder tips. They looked fantastic. I love blending with oxide. Thank you so much for another helpful video.
I loved it all Lou, but I especially liked the embossing folder and the butterfly stencil. Your tips are so useful. Thank you for sharing 💖x
Loving this new series Lou! 🫶🏻 Thank you 👍🏻🩷🐨🌺
These are all great ideas! My favourite is what you did with the butterfly stencil. It really does look like 3D!
Super helpful. Ive had picket fence for ages and never used it - Now I know what to do! Thanks Lou
Wow, love the blending into white ink. That’s a new one for me! 😊
The 3D affect is my fav
I never thought to leave the paper in the embossing folder when highlighting - but I will from now on! The stencil tip is my fav. Thank you.
Awesome techniques and tips. I like them all but if I had to choose, I would say the stencil one. Thank you for your informative and inspirational videos.❤❤
Great ideas, all of them! Thanks so much, especially for the tip to not take the cardstock out of the embossing folder.

Thanks Lou! I love the embossing card tip the best. I created a playlist so I can save all of your videos there.
Fascinating - I am just about to start a Distress/Oxide collection and White will be a must have!

Great tutorial Lou!!! Wow, and I’ve only used my white pigment for stamping on colored card. Thanks a bunch 🎉
The butterflies are my favourite, or maybe the embossed one. Love these ink tutorials by the way.
Thank you :-)
Oh my favorite - the butterflies - as you can see from the spelling of the word favorite - I am from across the pond - America
Another superb video 🎉❤
Terrific inspiration, TY!! I totally forget about this color…. 😞🤣🤣
Thank you for all these wonderful ideas!

You are very welcome!
This is a great video .TY so much. I definitely need to get Picket Fence. :)
Thank you for this great video. ❤️🙏
You are so welcome!
Great tips Lou. I was using this last week with kraft card XX
This is brilliant! 😍
I just used my picket fence distress spray for appkying splatters to my project and it worked great. Very opaque splatters.
Love this Lou! I find white ink difficult and it takes a while to dry. But your techniques are amazing and inspiring. Thanks for sharing.
Awesome 👌 🎉
Thanks for the good ideas Lou. Jenny ❤😊

I love the butterfly stencil. Thank you for showing how to make use of picket fence. I have that ink but have not yet used it.
I loved the bokeh technique best😮 it made it so easy!
It really is!
So cool!! ❤
They are all fantastic!

I certainly do the bokeh technique with white pigment ink .
Yes! It is the pigment in the Distress Ink that sits on the paper and doesnt soak in, so other pigment inks would also work well!
Fab
How can you ask us to choose?? They are all great. Never herd of picket fence before, can it still be brought?
Yes absolutely!
Thanks Lou 😊 I had no ideas for this color. Now, yes. 👍
Just a question, the ink pad stay clean ? If we go to with colors...
Sometimes I give my pad a light rub with a wet wipe to remove excess colour, or if I KNOW I’m going to be transferring colours I’ll press some white ink into a mat and pick it up from there instead
@@LouCollins oh, good idea ! Thanks 😃

Distress Picket Fence is a pigment/dye hybrid so yes, other white pigment inks will achieve all these looks x
