When I saw your title for this project - How to use up all your white scraps of paper - it felt as if you had the ability to observe clearly not only inside my art studio, but inside my BRAIN!!, inside the excessive keeping of interesting shapes and colors and images - you knew, you understood, you assessed without judgment and made great positive decisions and supportive suggestions. You are AMAZING! You are like the friend I've never met! Thank you Thank you Thank you. I only wish that you lived around the corner and could come over for a cup of coffee or tea and talk about Art Supplies!! LOVED "Using up White Scraps". Thanks again.
OMGosh, that is just the sweetest comment ever!! Thank you so much for that! I honestly think that this is a problem so many of us have. I never want to throw out my scraps but they sure do pile up as you saw! And if you lived around the corner, I would definitely be over for a cup of coffee! Super big thanks again for making my day!! 🤗❤️❤️
I love your ideas for using up all these white scraps! You've made them so beautiful! I love the idea of arranging the various bits on a sticky mat to embellish them as a whole, instead of doing each piece separately. Your finished cards are also gorgeous! I like your style!
Thank you so much Donna! It really was a time saver to put all those bits on the sticky mat and go from there. I’m thrilled that you liked the finished cards too! 😄❤️❤️
You’ve done great in using your white scraps. I think I’m going to make some white on white and some with slight coloring… THankYou for the inspiration.
I do believe this is absolutely the best card making video I have seen. I have been slowly buying supplies all the while watching card making videos to learn and this one here is the best!! ❤
I had just stacked a bunch of white cut-offs, asking “why am I saving more of these”? I always feel so guilty throwing them in the trash. The first thing I saw when I opened TH-cam was this video. It was the photo of the box of white paper that made me click. What did I discover, a new She-ro named Karen. I will be forever grateful to you for sharing this genius idea. Thank you so much. I’ve become a subbie so I can see what other great ideas you can send my way. 👏🏽💜🌟
Thank you so very much for that kind comment and for subscribing! I’ve had exactly the same thought about just recycling those scraps, so I can definitely relate to you. I hope you can enjoy those scraps now as much as I have been! 😄💕💕
I have ten TIMES the white scraps that you have!! I use a lot of them for bulking up die cut sentiments ( instead of foam tape) and the rest are shredded for paper making. I love the idea of putting them onto a sticky mat and coloring and stamping!
That’s so cool that you shred them to make paper! I also love using mine to add dimension for die cuts as it’s much less expensive than the foam tape and just a great way to use them up. The sticky mat really does make the painting of them so much faster and easier though. Thank you so much for your great comment! 😊❤️
This is hands down the BEST use of scrap white cardstock I've ever seen! Using the sticky mat to secure any size scraps to ink up is a brilliant idea. Thank you so much.
Thank you so much! And yes, I totally agree with you about cleaning off any inks, pastes etc. onto white scraps. Those are perfect for sentiments or die cuts then. 😄💕💕
Beautiful cards Karen. I’m quite taken with the gilding polishes. They look amazing and the little tutorial on making the wobblers was an added bonus. I would love to have seen your white scraps box at the end though 😊
Thank you so much Jacqui! The gilding polishes really are fun and very shiny. I have to confess that my white scrap box, while quite depleted, still has a lot of scraps left in it. 🙄. But I plan on doing these colouring techniques more often, and either making cards as I did in the video, or just using the coloured pieces for die cutting and sentiments or sentiment strips. I think the white scraps is a perennial problem with card making. 😂💕💕
I didn't want this video to end! To think that those cards came from white scraps blows my mind! 🤯Those cards are absolutely stunning!! You are very creative! WOW!!! 😍
Thank you so very much Lori! I really appreciate your kind comment! It’s always so satisfying, and lots of fun, to turn those white scraps into cards. 😄💕💕
Wow! You're amazing. You have a sense of style that really gets the best of just plain white paper. Thank you very much for sharing with us. I have to apply your techniques... Your cards were outstanding. Greetings from Morelia México
Thank you so much - that is so kind of you! This really was a fun way to use up some of those white scraps and it’s such a great way to see your white pile of paper go down. A big hello from Canada to you too. 😄❤️❤️
Huge thanks to you Julie for taking the time to watch my videos and to leave all your sweet comments! I really do appreciate it and I don’t think those cards are too hard to make. 🤔😄❤️
This is a 'I wish I'd thought of that' moment. I got so fed up seeing them all, I did the unthinkable and dumped loads in the recycling. I won't be doing it again after seeing your beautiful results. Thanks so much for sharing and saving me money in the future. Best wishes for 2024 🎉
Thank you so much Margaret and I wish I’d got the video out earlier to help you out! I also got fed up with seeing mine and was struggling to figure out what to do with them all. I plan on doing this more often this year and either making cards with the coloured up bits, or just using them for die cutting and sentiments. 😄 Happy New Year to you! 💕💕
Karen, what great cards! Such inspiration! I need to round up some of my numerous white scraps and try your technique! I really love that that all the cards turn out different, and each and every one is so original. No cookie cutter cards here! I can’t stand to throw away scraps, white or colored, or patterned, so I have tons of scraps. This was very helpful. Perhaps you can do another video showing using patterned paper scraps, and colored scraps. This is the first time I have discovered you. You do great videos, with everything at hand….no having to run into another room to get something you’ve forgotten, or looking for something you can’t find. I imagine you voice-over and edit. I so much appreciate the extra time that takes. I also appreciate that you don’t waste time chatting and greeting people, as so many TH-camrs do! Thank you for a quality video, with your great video voice! I immediately subscribed!
Thank you so very much Carlos for that kind comment and for subscribing! I do try very hard to keep my videos short as I know everyone’s time is precious, so thanks for that comment too. I know exactly what you mean about the tons of scraps too, and I probably should do more scraps videos. I have done one in the past about using patterned paper scraps and here’s the link in case you’re interested. th-cam.com/video/a_YneJJpczY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=YVJ1Ek1DtiluboNr. I hope you have a wonderful 2024!
funny, but I have a bunch of the guilding polishes that I haven't used since last year. I covered a diecut with the gold one but it warped. Guess I'll stick to using it with stencils or stamps. @@KarensKardzz
Scraps have been a big issue with me as well, as I have trouble throwing them away. You've provided some great and original ideas on how to use them! Very creative and helpful.
Thanks for sharing your ideas on how to color, stencil and add shimmer to paper. I love these ideas and will see if I can add this to 12X12 sheets of DSP to find ways to use up designs that I don't care for.
Thank you Karen :) So pleased to have found your tute, it's bursting with ideas and I never knew wobblers were makeable :) I want to try so many of these techniques ... if I don't have enough white scraps I'm going to have to produce some ... don't tell, ok!
I saw that box of scraps at the beginning and immediately thought what beautiful playful, impromptu freedom it would be to use these scraps on a large canvas, randomly gluing them and then perhaps adding in textures and colors like you’ve done, but in large format! Sometimes it’s a lot of pressure when staring at a new canvas, but this would be so freeing to just start collaging and seeing where shapes take place. Your cards are absolutely lovely !!! Very talented 🎉❤
Thank you so much Tony! What a wonderful idea you have to create a canvas from those scraps! And I can imagine it would be really fun to create. I thoroughly enjoyed converting my scraps into coloured pieces, so that would be even more fun to do a whole canvas. 👍🏻👍🏻❤️
I was searching for ideas to use my white scraps and your video came up! Thank you so much for this! These are all such great ideas and I can't wait to try some! I just bought a gazillion wobblers but it's so clever how you made yours from wire! Also, your image coloring is so nice. Thank you again for sharing all this!!
Okay my jaw dropped with the weaving look! Wow!! Also the wobbler diy...I'd love to share that with my audience with credit to you of course. AWESOME!!!

I love all your ideas using up your scraps. You made some gorgeous papers! I was blown away by making your own action wobblers!! How smart are you. I have 26 and 28 gauge that I use for something else but just put some twenty two gauge in my cart.
Thank you so much for that really sweet comment! I think you’ll have lots of fun with the action wobblers too. I find they work even better than the ones I bought, and everyone loves seeing a cute image wobbling away on a card! 😄❤️
Thank you so much, this came on my feed at the right time. I have been organizing my scraps and have vowed to use these in die cutting, but now I have another option too.
Oh my my my! I'm going to have to watch this a few more times! So many amazing ideas. And i did laugh when you said they had given birth. PS I'm sharing this with my card group

I loved what you did with those scraps. Just gorgeous. Amazing cards and the tip for the round card. I was completely blown away. The wobbler too. All I can say is thank you for such inspiring ideas. You are a genius! ❤
I ❤ LOVED EVERYTHING about your video!! Fantastic job 👏. . . Give yourself a pat on the back! I am so impressed with the "diy wobbler". I have wanted some and bought a die to do them , and it works "ok". But your idea is much more stable. Thanks again for sharing.
That's the best use of scraps I've seen!
Thank you so much Linda! Happy New Year to you! 💕💕
I like that not only did you get creative with white scraps, you also used old supplies you haven't used in awhile.
Thank you so much! I’ve made a commitment to myself to try to use up a lot of my stash this year, so the white scraps are only the beginning! 😄💕💕
