    Hi Kris! You did a beautiful job on your top! I love the trim you put on the bottom of your sleeves. I also love the sound of sharp scissors cutting.
    I have a great day!😊

    I'm so happy to see someone doing lutterloh patterns. I too refer to patterns I already have to help me with the order of construction. Your top came out really nice. So far I've only made mock-ups of a few patterns you've inspired me to just go ahead and make something.

    In the manual there are a few pages with instuctions about garment construction, but not many people read them.

      I'm not sure if mine has that? I see pages about sewing buttons and such and turning a pattern into a knitting pattern! I'll double check mine! Thanks for letting me know!

    Hello Sew Notes, Great job! Love the colour, the trim. Your top is lovely.
    I just got my Lutterloh and will use it after I finish painting the bedroom that will become
    my sewing room.
    Could I please ask you what size of top you normally fit and your height? You only look to be about a size 10 and maybe 5'6? I'm trying to gauge the amount of ease in the pattern.
    Thanks Sweetie.

      Thanks so much for watching! I'm 5 9 and in patterns I mainly sew a size 14 and in ready to wear I mainly wear size M. In those photos on this video I have a few extra pounds on me. Hope this helps.

      @@SewNotes LOL You look so tiny! I'm almost 5'8 and usually go for a size 14 in ready made to. The problem for us is that the bust darts are usually too high, and the waist isn't centered for us.
      I was fascinated by the system, and even researched Di Vinci's Vitruvian Man. I came to the conclusion that he was approx 5'10", which was tall for a man during that century. Women today usually average 5'4, which I think the Lutterloh system is designed for. Maybe 5'5"? I still have to start using the system, but I am watching for their Pattern Reviews here on youtube.
      I've spent the last two years just learning how to read the wrinkles, and to make all the adjustment to the pattern. The best advice I learned was that commercial patterns go wrong right at the shoulder. The back shoulder should be at least 1/2" taller to account for our roundness. I would love to see you sew that pattern again, adjusted for height!
      Do you know Peggy Sager from Silhouette Patterns? Although her patterns never seem to fit the Sewer's shoulder, she has a great video here on TH-cam that started me on my quest to get the right fit.
      In case you want to check it out, it's called "Length Circumference and Depth Fit 2 Stitch - Season 2 - Episode 3" Lutterloh has some beautiful patterns that we don't need to unfold, refold, or print, but fit still isn't perfect. We still need to do the tweaking.

    Good job and nice video. I’m really curious how you use the dots to create your paper pattern. I am interested in purchasing a Luderloh pattern but uncertain about creating the pattern.

    • @SewNotes
      @SewNotes  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks so much Claudia!! If you purchase the complete kit, it comes with 2 rulers...one for trousers and one for tops and you connect the dots using the rulers. It comes with a special tape measure and you line up your pattern with the measurement that matches your bust or hip measurement. I will definitely share this process on my next Lutterloh video. Thank you for bringing that to my attention, I really appreciate it!! I'll see if I can find a video to show you that process.
