    I like this because my weight can fluctuate. I can re-measure & create a new pattern. I did take Home Ec & my Mom's friend from Wales taught Mom & I great tips. Mom made a prom coat for me & I later made my hubby a Leisure Suit (that's back in the 70's). I often made Bell Bottoms & Midriff Tops like Cher. LOL, but I am pushing 70 & don't wear size 6 anymore. I enjoy your soft, confident tone & unique projects you present, which this is my 1st time hearing this particular one. 👍💌👍

    I stopped garment sewing over 25 years ago. There were only 2 rulers I had that I could use for all those curves, etc. Wasn't too impressed with the outcome, but this system has a lot more detail with the instructions. Looks like a very professional system. I might try garment sewing again now. 👍

    Hi Laura, I have a bit of a challenge in that my waist is so much smaller than my hips. (Waist 35" hips 51") What I have done in the past is use my bust measurement to draw the waist. However, this makes an awkward curve on the hips. Do you have any suggestions? Should I use the hip measurement for the entire pattern and just make the darts larger or add extra darts to compensate for the difference? Thanks for any help you can provide. I love my Golden Rule patterns and just have some challenges with the waist/hip relationship an the patterns. Thanks again! Heidi

    • @SewVeryEasy
      @SewVeryEasy  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would recommend using the hip measurements to draft out the Pattern that way it keeps it proportionally correct for the thighs and down. And then make the adjustments for the waist. Try to curve in the sides as much as you can keeping it still proportionate and then add the darts or pleats to make up the difference. Try to put some decorative elements in the front to make up the difference. You can put on fake zippers and I've even seen big buttons so they look like sailor pants.

    • @rogerpeggywheat1630

      @@shannonbrown7488 I have this Golden Rule kit. Because you must create a bit of detail in the pattern making yourself, I see it as more for people who have some garment sewing experience. Because you are new to garment sewing, I would recommend you begin this adventure with a smaller investment in patterns, instead of the Golden Rule kit. Some of the companies have some vintage patterns available. When you are trying a new pattern, cut the pattern out of an old sheet. Make a mockup to check the fit, without cutting your precious fabric. Good luck. Make exactly what you have in your head...eventually. It is not an easy process, but it is fun! I also recommend you watch the TH-cam videos by Evelyn Wood.

    • @SewVeryEasy
      @SewVeryEasy  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1
