I love the blues in the quilt! I’m looking forward to seeing your sewing room it’s finished! 🥰
I get very nervous when altering for others. I've had a couple of people in church ask me to repair or alter and I said well I will take a look at it but no guarantees. It always comes out beautiful.
Hi Kris! Happy New Year! I saw you haven't posted in a little bit but it was nice to see you over on my channel! I'm looking forward to seeing more videos from you! Did you finish your WIPs?
Hey!! How are ya? No I haven't posted in a while, I haven't felt like filming and plus I got extremely sick for the entire month of December!! Slowing making my way back to sewing and yt!!
Love the quilts 😊 will look beautiful when finished
Thank you!!!
Looks like you're in quilt mode!❤ my last 3 sews have been fails so I'm trying to pull myself together lol😂
Hey! How are you doing? Yes it definitely seems like I'm in quilting mode!! What were your projects and why were they fails?
@@SewNotes doing good, staying busy! Woven button ups. Ugh I'll have to make a video when I get things set up. Basically fit issues🤷♀️
Can’t wait to see the shirt come together.
Thanks!! Me too! I just hope I don't ruin it!!
I want to sew a bullet bra because I wear 1950s early 60s vintage clothing and those clothes look and fit better wearing the undergarments from that era. Problem is, is that my size is very hard to find in ready to wear. The only bras I have found that fit nicely (and I don't get a be selection of styles and colors) is Victoria"s Secret. I wear size 34G. If I could get a pattern in that size I would be so grateful and happy.
I can't remember if the black beauty bra comes in that size?! I'll double check. Maybe the pinup girls patterns come in your size?
Dankeschön, fürs zeigen 🤗 Ich werde die weiße Bluse nähen 🧵✂️🙋🏻♀️
How fun!!! Thank you for watching!!!
I loved this video! It was so calming and the format was great. I might be stealing your idea.... Also I appreciate how much effort this style of video takes. Multiple angles, editing it all, getting the right views. I appreciate your effort!
Hey! Thanks so much for your encouragement and kind words!! I really appreciate it!! I can't wait to see your video...its kind of fun, but yes lots of work!! Ha ha
Hi Kris, I enjoy sewing and having coffee with you! Cute pouch :) I love coffee but trying to stay away from it do acid reflux 😭😭😭😭 I let myself have 1 cup a week, then suffer for it. Have a great weekend and thanks for letting us sew with you. XXX
Oh man, that sucks about the acid reflux! Thanks for joining me as I sew!! Miss you!!
Hi Kris, I love anything that has to do with coffee... and your way of setting up your day is awesome! You super pouches adorable! I always have to refer back to my notes on how to make one even now! Hahaha I like the way you did yours! Have a blessed weekend!
Thank you so much, I really appreciate it! You too have a blessed weekend!!
Oh my, the fabric is gorgeous! So, you would recommend getting the Lutterloh System? I have thought about it, but the fact that it has no instructions kind of scares me! Carole used the one that her mother gave her. ❤
I really enjoy the system! Sometimes, I need to stretch my imagination to think beyond some of the illustrations! I definitely think some sewing experience is necessary to use the system!
Beautiful dress! I absolutely love the fabric and the fit is so good. Great job!
Thank you so very much!!!
Absolutely stunning bags Kris!! So happy to see you back on TH-cam (don’t know how I missed this video when it came out!)
Thanks so much!!! I appreciate it!!!
Kris, You did a beautiful job with your dress! I still have not sewed anything with the system yet, but I still plan on doing so.😊
Let's collaborate with it!!!
I like the way you did the collar very neat finish. I think the length of the dress if very flattering as it is too.
Thank you so much!!!
Your dress turned out so beautiful Kris! I’m feeling some oriental vibes 😍
I was getting the same vibes too!!! Thank you so much Rikki!!!!
Hi! Coming from Marisol's channel. Very pretty. Does the system guide you thru the steps / order to sew the pieces? I'm a beginner, so I need instructions or step by step. Does the system suggest the amount of fabric needed for the project? Thanks
Hi, thanks for stopping by! There are no instructions. But they do have labels as A B C and so on, to show you the sewing order. I would recommend getting the book The complete guide to sewing to help guide you in the process. Even going to the thift store to grab some patterns for the instructions alone would be beneficial!
@@SewNotes thank you!
Love the fabric you used, and the dress really came out beautiful! I like it with the belt the best :) Great video.
Thank you!!!
Your dress is lovely!
Thank you very much!!!
It's great to see you! Yes life definitely gets in the way! I have soo much to talk about whenever I get make a video it'll probably be an hour long😂. Wow that gold and black bag is stunning! Maybe use 2 of those handles? So it's balanced 🤷♀️ Aww mommy and me outfits. I never did that. My kids wouldn't wanted to match me😵 The crossbody bag looks great too! Awww that's awesome your daughter wants to sew with you!❤
Hey April!! Thanks for the comment!! I was thinking a similar idea....using 2 of those handles, but what if I twisted them together to give it a braided look?? Maybe your grown kids would want to match you....or even better....maybe your grandchildren would wanna match grandma!!! Thanks again April!!
@@SewNotes maybe twisted? Yea it's ok they don't need to match me. Maybe that means I need to step up my style lol
Welcome back Kris! I've been thinking of you. It's nice to take a break. Glad you are back now. Do you still want to do a collab this month or next month? Wow!!! I LOVE your black/gold bag. AMAZING!!! I think the clasps look fine. Gorgeous bag. What pattern is that? Also beautiful painting on the leather strap. BEAUTIFUL SIRINA LEATHER FLORAL BAG!!!!! WOW!! I can't wait for your sew along!! 💖💖💖💖
Thanks so much Grace! The black and gold bag is the Hiraeth Bag by Lavender and Twine. Isn't the Sirina lovely!! I absolutely love using it!! Yes...lets talk collaboration. I will send you a message!!
Stunning bags and belt, Kris! How fun you’re making a matching jumpsuit to twin with your daughter! 💗
Thank you so much Andra!!!
It’s great to see you back! Happy birthday to your daughter and I’m excited for your exciting personal info whenever you can share it! I totally understand not having the time or desire to film, especially when your sewing time is limited as is.
Hi Erin! Thanks so much for your kind comment!! Time is just something else these days. I hope to share in my next video!!
It was great seeing you again! Your bags turned out beautiful as always. You have been busy, I wish I could say the same. Have a great weekend and summer.
Thank you so much Sherry!! I hope to see you on yt soon!! Miss you!!
Hello Chris, glad to see you are back. The bags are gorgeous ❤ those are some great looking quilt blocks. I would love to talk to you about a project in September if you are interested 😊 let me know if you are interested. Ill send my email if you are curious ❤
Thanks so much!! I really appreciate it!! A project!! Let's hear about it, send me your email address!!
I scored some beautiful vintage patterns from the 60's and 70's at Habitat for Humanity! They were nearly all uncut at $1.00 each. Such fun!
Thrifting for vintage is so much fun and like another hobby!!
@@SewNotes I like reading the instructions! Good idea to use them when making a lutterloh pattern.
How is your bra-making going? Last winter I ordered from VS for the last time. Nothing fit right or was really quality, so I decided to sew a bra in my actual size the way I want it. I bought the Labellum pattern from LilypaDesign, messed around, made adjustments and made one ok prototype 'first' bra with duoplex and zero frills. Then I made a beautiful lace and foam bra that fits perfectly. Tho I admit, I made about 4 toiles. Now I will never buy off-the-rack bras again. Ever. Finally decided to try Emerald Erin's Black Beauty to compare to the Labellum (which is amazing!) I can't wait to get started on it! Great video! I can't believe your first bra fit right straight from the pattern. Lucky girl! Its a beautiful piece of lingerie you made.
Hey! Thanks so much!! I haven't made another bra yet. I really should ha ha. My sewing wish list just keeps growing and growing!! I'm going to go check out that pattern that you mentioned!! You might just inspire me to make a new bra for the fall!! Thanks for stopping by and thank you for your comment!!
Hi Kris! It's almost May now and my makes list is short. I hope the night shift is over or very close!❤ I'm sure it can be hard being in a small space, but at least you do have a space. I see some people have to clear off a little small part of a table to sew and then put it back together for lunch or dinner or even other projects. I get it. I was one who had to clear off a little section to sew and then, clear it for my son... and then clear him out for our next meal. That was our RV living life. I miss seeing here!❤
Hi Kris! These books sound intriguing and I definitely enjoy reviews of sewing books, especially vintage, as they can be foundational. The logic of starting with coats or outer wear makes so much sense, as they are the most expensive and frankly, if you live in the frozen north, you tend to wear a lot of outer wear for most of the year😅. I have always loved nice coats after visiting Montreal in the winter months for hockey, years ago. I was astounded by the lovely variety and how coats (leather ones especially) could set the tone and give clues to personality. About sweats as street wear, it surely depends on whether they’re “styled” or just slept in and walked out the door. And if you think about it, we are modeling for our kids, as Grace’s comment surely underlined. They may not listen to us, but they sure do watch and can pick up on our habits, good and bad! So yes, more please!❤
Very true about our kids watching and picking up habits. I'm finding lately that my mindset is letting the fear take over. Surely there are people out there who haven't even sewn something basic are making these extravagant projects. I try my best to not let the fear kick in, but it's been messing with me lately. I have the fabric for my coat purchased 2 years ago and it's placed on the top of my pile! Hopefully I can get to it soon!
I used to work night shifts, I was on my own and it was hard! Please don't put to much pressure on yourself. I had my granny's original Luterlow system, but had to let it go when I moved last year. Love the bag you're working on! Your quilt blocks are amazing! Love the new book. Love the sewing space
Thank you so much! I sometimes find life too busy and hard but I do need my me time once in a while, but it just seems so hard to get this last little while. Thanks for stopping by!
Thanks for the review! I bought this book a while back and I'm finally going to dive into it! Excited for your upcoming review of her first book!
How are you liking it so far? I really enjoyed it!! Still getting through the first book!
@@SewNotes Well I'm pretty sure I've broken every rule spoken of in the first chapter! 😂 My how times have changed! I always appreciate and learn something new with each sewing book I read!
Yes
Love the book you have. Where did you get it? All your sewing is beautiful. I hope things get better for you❤ take care.
Hey! Thanks!! I found the book on Facebook martket place for an amazing deal!! Thank you so much for stopping by!!
I’ve heard of the Bishop method for a long time and finally found the same two books recently… waiting for them in the mail now!
How fun!!! Hopefully they come soon!!!
Hi, I'm happy to find your channel! Lutterloh is great after understanding it's use. Your careful explanation and examples are so helpful and appreciated 😅
Thank you very much for your kind comment, I really appreciate it!!
I have never thought to look for sewing patterns at a thrift store. Genius!
Yes!!! Hopefully you can find some!!
So sorry about night shift, Kris! Hopefully, it will be over soon! Those bags will be gorgeous, and the bunny is so cute! Such a pretty pillow covers! 💗
Thank you so much Andra! My hardware should be arriving next week....can't wait to finish them!!
When my kids were younger my husband worked 75 hours a week, I'm glad your husband's night job is temporary!! I had to tell my husband to get a lower paying job with less hours to spend time with us! Praying your husband gets back to his regular schedule soon! Pretty Hiraeth ❤ I can't wait to see it finished! I thought it was 2 years too 😂🤣😂
Thank you April!! Yes...now that I look back....that was nearly 2 years ago....wow!!! Crazy hey!!
@@SewNotes Was it? Fb says 1 year lol?
I’m so sorry life has been hard lately. I remember when I was small my dad worked night shifts a lot and it was so difficult for us and for my mom. I really hope you see the light at the end of the tunnel soon. Meanwhile though, just be kind to yourself and if you have the energy for at night is scrolling on your phone, then just do that. Sending hugs… 💞
Thank you so much Izzy!!!
