      Bambu labs p1p looks like such a great printer too!
      Ive spent so much time watching X1 carbon vids and of course the p1p was announced right as my AnkerMaker M5 begun to ship haha.
      I've got my eye on it and if they can get the quality close enough to the X1 carbon then it'll be a weapon.
      Another possibility is we may see AnkerMake in retail stores given Ankers supply chain, making warranty returns easier and potential discounts on that current retail price.
      Either way I'm stoked to see this new wave of fast FDM printers. It makes me more excited to print at home 🚀

      honestly i had planned to get the M5 at first but learned about the P1P and ended up going with that since Best Buy was out of stock of their M5s at the time (I had a gift card). Though the M5 does look nice and I think the AI stuff has potential, print wise I personally think the P1P was more impressive with its speed and quality.

      Hi Andrew, Yes I am comparing my new 3D printer to my old 3D printer to highlight the advancements in technology and what features can now be available out of the box with ease of use. I have used a X1C and it's phenomenally good, and hoping to get one in my hands personally to do a head to head comparison. p.s. AnkerMake are releasing a V6 color engine, it's still in dev though but will support 6 colours opposed to the 4 of the AMS, will be interesting to see the speed and waste differences when changing colours as that is the biggest speed slower of the X1C

    I've got both this and The Bambu X1CC and I can tell you now the Bambu blows this out of the water. My Ankers actually going up for sale so I can get a P1P. All the stuff about Anker only allowing review units to people if they basically blew smoke up their arse was enough to make me no longer want this printer.

    • @camshand
      @camshand  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah figured the new wave of Bambu labs printers were going to quickly take over.
      Dang that's a big shame, I haven't seen or heard that yet but unfortunately I say no to a lot of tech companies that reach out for reviews as I know they don't want a honest video of my experience like I just made.

      @PixelatedFancyLads ปีที่แล้ว

      The X1CC is a $1500 printer, so yeah, of course it blows the nearly half-price AnkerMake M5 out of the water. What a ridiculous comparison lol
      The P1P vs. the M5 is closer, though I'd still give the edge to the P1P. Both the P1P and X1CC aren't without their own problems, but they're definitely great machines that are a step ahead of the M5. I think the M5 becomes a more appealing proposition when (maybe if, at this point) the V6 comes to fruition.

    I had that issue with the bed too. I checked the bed level compared to the base with a bubble level. The base was dead on but the bed was low on one side. I installed a 2mm washer on the left bed supports to level the bed. That seemed to work for me. Installing the filament is easy actually. Straighten 2 inches or so of the lead end and voila...no prob. Thanks for the tip with using inkscape!

    • @camshand
      @camshand  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's an interesting way to get the bed checked. Tricky as the z axis has two motors that on z homing turn independent for a moment. So it has the ability to compensate but best if you were able to true up to a real level with a washer 👍
      I did find straightening it to help a lot too but wanted to see why it was so inconsistent than most printers I've loaded.
      And yes I love Inkscape, open source SVG!

      Yes full manual control for retraction in the slicer, it's built on CURA so has everything there. I do find the nozzle to be a bit leaky when idling at temp, may be due to the all metal hot end and the temps I'm keeping it at, might have to test with some lower temps too.

    Would you recommend it for people new to the hobby?

    • @camshand
      @camshand  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, this and I'd also consider the Bambu Labs P1P (if you can afford X1 Carbon) which many others are recommending in the comments.
      There's many other printers out there with the essential features I mentioned like auto-bed levelling, direct drive, filament runout sensor, Wi-Fi features. But the speed is the big one, and speed will greatly define your enjoyment. I know that when I had 3 day long prints fail right near the end I was super down about it, but if I had a faster printer like this and it failed at the same point, it would have been far less frustrating, as I wouldn't have had to wait as long.
      End of the day the entry Creality Ender printers are good starting points, it's just up to how much time you have to tinker and learn.
      Good luck with the new hobby Connor!

    The Ender 3 is a hobbyist printer. The intent was the price point was low so that you could mod it the way you want it (Naomi Wu covered this ad infinitum). If you wanted to a buy a printer to print, you'd buy an Ultimaker, Bamboo or similar production class printer.

      Update the video with an annotation, so the users don't destroy the bed....

      Can you please explain then why BambuLabs ship a scraper with their Textured PEI plate P1P printer?

  • @ste4lthles

    slower, worse and much less usable nor user friendly than a bambu lab p1p

      Given the P1P can take up to 15min to transfer a file wirelessly, and some can't get the camera for remote viewing working let alone AI detection. I wouldn't say it's a black and white comparison of features. However, I am looking to get my hands on a P1P to make a comparison and see exactly what is better on each model 😁

      @@tadhgd350 true lmao. For a perfect benchy, id say 10 minutes is the max for my machine. I could probably push it more, but I haven't tried. the cooling, motion system, and flow is enough.
