What makes your videos so great is how genuinely interested you are in what you’re building and talking about. I can’t wait to see what 2025 Cam gets up to. 100k this year?🤞
Hands down one of my favourite creators on YT. Just straight up vibes and making Looking forward to seeing what projects you've got coming up in the future.
Thank you so much for sharing your history, what motivates you and what drains you in life. I can 100% relate to everything you said. I have gone through all of this as well, but still every day is a learning day on how i can keep going, what else motivates me, where I can find new interests, etc. I‘m a techy first as well, but everey few years I have the extreme drive to sink my time and energy in something outside tech and get a bit lost in it. A few months in i realize i was mostly interested in the HOW of things. Understanding our world, our universe, our lifes. The place I still gotta learn most though is how to get my brain to focus more on the people in my life during these times…
Currently prototyping parts for my own custom built desk inspired by yours. Never had experience working with metal/acrylic, or shucking electronics, but every day is a learning day and keen to keep breaking/learning things! Keep up the awesome work :D
Hey Cam, that's a beautiful video. I love that it carries a big and important message, that personally speaks a lot to me, without being preachy. You just sit down and talk about how things are and were, i really appreciate that. Best of luck on your path forwards!
Mate I love this so much. Obviously the result is perfect; the numbers glowing through the transparent desk surface ... so dope. Also love how you've approached the commemoration in general. Very cool to be able to keep focused on both the past and the future, and organize your goals and do the work. Stay good, man - looking forward to what comes next.
I'm in the middle of making my first video, and it's messages like this that keep me working on the video prep when doubt gets too loud. Thanks for all you do!
Your videos always resonate with me so well and I think this one is the perfect example of why that is. The way you describe your process, where you're at, what you're doing, how you're feeling about it/yourself/your projects and those are all the things that have been ringing in my head for years. I really appreciate you sharing your process.
I engage in various activities similar to yours, except for the TH-cam aspect. I delve into reverse engineering, 3D printing, and computer building, among other interests. If you pursue your passions, it’s not really work or a job. For instance, when I’m working on a project, and I make a mistake, I don’t perceive it as a failure. Instead, I view it as an opportunity to learn and refine my approach. Eventually, I overcome the obstacle and successfully accomplish my goal. My expertise in these areas is entirely self-taught, lacking any formal education. I learned by watching TH-cam videos such as yours, and just taking things apart.
6:57 “Even if I have the option to buy something, I often get more fulfillment when I make or customize it” I resonate a lot with that, I’ve even considered going to college again to study product design.
I love this idea of a personal epoch. I might have to make one of these for my desk. I'm on day 2,387. And like you, I'm sure that day 1 Rindel would be blown away by what I've been able to do in that time.
Just wanted to stop by and say that this inspired me to create a counter like this from the beginning of my new venture. Just in software for now, but I'll migrate it to a standalone device when I have some time.
06:33 It hit me when you said you created since you couldn't afford to buy what you wanted, that hit me hard, seeing as I'm in the same spot as you were. This does give me hope that things will eventually work out with a little effort ❤
Yo Cam! It's sick to see how far you've come here! The idea of making, design and creating is a fantastic thing to push towards. It's half the reason I started teaching, to show kids how they can start making those weird, wacky things that we all love to think, design and create. I always look forward to what ya make and want it to inspire me to make more cool, weird wacky stuff to inspire my students to do the same. P.S I was curious and had a look to notice that they finally updated the bendigo volunteer site after being up for about 8 years lmao! P.P.S Also I still have that mixdeck I got off you yyeeaaarrrs ago too (though not used as often as I'd like lol)
Your table is amazing, I love the see through glass and wish I could do something simmilar. It has the same apeal as modding a pc. So many possibilitys and fun stuff to do :)
0:48 Funny. PCA is the company my dad worked for in Omaha. Your curious mind reminded me of him in a way. That's partially what got me to subscribe to you. Mind you, we are both significantly older than you. He worked with computers later his career but started off as a mechanic and working on the floor of PCA. He ended up in the office. He got me both to understand working with my hands, but also in data analytics. Sorry, working while watching. So I'm rambling. But, nice little flash that made me smile.
7:05 Wow. Then you throw in the make over buy. Gonna take the afternoon off now and go for a walk in this Chicago snow. Obviously someone is trying to tell me something.
I am at this point of my life where i don't know what is the purpose of my life. I am working initially in 3d animation but the inudstry is at his worse and don't know what to do. Thank you for sharing you story
Love the projects brotha. Whats the stats plug in/desktop wallpaper thing at 3:23. Would love that on my pc. Been hunting around for a few weeks trying to find it.
Amazing video as always ! and I love the idea to keep track of time upward, I do it with a simple app on my phone but clearly not as beautiful as yours haha What are you using on your desktop to display the folder and cpu usage ? couldn’t find anything like a rainmeter skin

"Action creates momentum, and its momentum that makes motivation", simply an amazing quote. I can't quite explain how much this resonated with me.
Really loved the chill edit and knowing more about where you come from in life :)

Absolute mad reality when I recognise that university and process we went to the same uni! Love your videos, keep killing it!
I fundamentally agree with your entire worldview. Been watching since you started the desk build. Keep up the great content!
Really inspiring video! Super interesting to see how you got here, especially for someone on the same track

Seriously you deserve so many more subs likes and comments especially how enthusiastic you are in your videos, and how much effort and work you put in
First time viewer and this couldn’t have come at a better time for me. Your passion, enthusiasm and humility have gained a new fan 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

Yo what was the slimline af usb-c you used?
The epoch time was not arbitrarily selected. Linus Torvalds was born on December 28th 1969.
5:46 you could still get inspired
what's the song playing in the background at 9:35
Did you used to work at the Bendigo Tech School? I have a couple friends there.
Nice!
Getting a bit old... at 24!?! I'm 37. What does that make me?!? Oh no, I feel a midlife crisis coming..... thanks cam lol😂
