This ended up being a more casually paced operation to edit so I'm glad for the quick break. This one definitely feels like it might warrant a sequel operation in the future to really put together the feeling of Reach but we'll see! Also of course thanks for dropping by!

I love how even Ignis, who OOCly knows whats coming and have slightly less collective sanity than the Joker on acid, still sounds more concerned about the Covenant showing up than the radio op in the actual Reach game.
Emotionally stunted war orphans pumped full of every performance enhancing drug the military can afford, and one shell-shocked commander who probably has gone through this exact situation multiple times. You kind of can't blame them for their reactions.
It's called keeping your cool. No one likes a guy who freaks out on comms, and that guy in mission 1 had been in the wringer against the Covies all night so whatever shock he had was probably gone.
I would say that Carter sounded concerned when he told Holland "It's the Winter Contingency" but it was more of a "we're buggered" than a "Oh hecc the Covies are here"

I know Reach fell but it did NOT fall easily. The Unsc made them fight for every inch. Also even in fucked situations ground forces are trained to remain calm when communicating over the radio. Doesn’t always happen of course but if you panic important information might not be relayed.
“We are dropping into hell troopers” has a very very different meaning in ignis core
More like “We are going from one hell to another”.
Its still meen nothing compare to "we ar dropping you to province troopers" or "welcome to fort fortnight 2"

There's something incredibly cursed about a micro red dot on an MA5... Also dear god, the multiplayer marine is an amazing idea and I want to try that!
Also, Cypher shooting himself reminded me of the old Space Engineers bug where if you looked down and aimed while firing a rifle your arms would extend behind you and you'd shoot yourself in the back of the helmet.
Is that where the meme of the same person shooting themselves in the back of the head originated from?

Jay what did you do to me? The moment covenant presence was confirmed, the ship came out of slipsapce, and the music kicked in my entire body went into full tension and suspense mode as everyone tried to flee, reach will always be my favorite for how visceral it feels
The Halo ops will always be my favorite. There's a certain desperation yet possibility for victory that you don't really get anywhere else. Also its Ignis so-

seeing that covenant cruiser come out of slipspace and to see the full scale of it was about as terrifying as the sound that came out of Jay while viewing it.
That supercarrier just zipping in really gave a nice sense of scale.

Pip was the highlight of the video. I'd pay all three of his split personalities for a recording of his perspective. Dude is literally three cats in a trench coat.

that covenant super carrier coming out of slipspace is absolutely terrifying and that how the books explain it too. They knew reach was fucked that instant but it was one hell of a fight. and some the best menuvers were made there. captain keys did not fuck around either. they barely got away.

I was expecting it to basically just be a staged retreat till I saw the fucking Banshee coming at them
If an invasion like Reach actually happened, it would prolly take a week to sort out comms. So many people would be screaming into it it would be indecipherable

I have to say watching Jay slowly become a battle hardened leader has been fun to watch, I cant wait for the grizzled veteran stage
Really replicated the same passionless voice Ron Livingston was directed to use to reveal that Reach had been compromised by the Covenant. Just acknowledging the imminent destruction of humanity's strongest military hub with the exact same level of intensity as finding out your favourite TV show is getting broadcast 30 minutes later than expected.

Looking at pip made me realize that the 3 different people could work as one seeing how all three of them are insane and crazy with some schizo inside them.
Having just finished the fall of Reach book. This seems like a "too good to be true" moment...we shall see if its accurate
I think this is one of the best Arma halo videos I’ve seen, a perfect mix of action, a bit of war horror and also just silly stuff

So far watching this the points that somehow confused me more than a person controlled like a tank

Surviving the Fall of Reach? Rubix and his boys wouldn't even last the first day after the Covenant launch their invasion. But here we go, Rubix and the boys kicking Covenant ass while trying to survive a burning hellscape that Reach will become.
Haven't you watched these videos? Ignis Corps is too crazy to die. They'd get off of Reach by accident while somehow managed to blow up a Covenant carrier in the process (probably something involved "Hey, lets shoot that thing for un").
