Going from professional voice acting and effects to someone getting crushed by a warthog in the span of mere seconds is the perfect summary of this channel and I love it

Not just the marines the whole unsc fleet and army ,in the first halo game the covenant had already conquered most of human occupied space and by the third they were on earth and thaw is in a span of a few years. They almost destroyed humanity if it wasn't for one lucky green boy and his ai supercomputer
True, but the same is also said for Humanity towards the Covenant. Aside from space/ship combat, the UNSC always could withstand a pretty decent chance against the Covenant on the ground, and would typically be able to deal big blows to them. The problem was that ship combat was more important because it could do more.
Canonically the unsc did better on the ground than covenant forces, but humans needed a 3:1 tonnage / ship advantage to win in space, and that was rare. Doesn’t matter how much ass the marines kick if the fleet dies an they get glasses from orbit
Actually in lore it turns out that the Covenant found Earth by accident. They got a location from part of a Forerunner Ai which turned out to be Earth, Regret and the Covenant he brought with him had no effing clue that Humanity was there which is why his fleet was so small compare to the fleet that destroyed Reach.

That combat ineffective audio sounded like it was a bit of a reference to that " Deleted modern warfare " audio where they had originally planned for it to get VERY dark and you could hear the civilians screaming, panicking and trying, but failing to fight back as they got gunned down and the guy asking for aid draws his pistol while still calling for aid, panicking and shouting " OH GOD! THEY'RE SLAUGHTERING THEM! " then gets gunned down while still manning the radio after firing off two shots from his service pistol.

Ooga as the MAC Cannon Operator is so good, lol. Reminds me of that Halo 4 easter egg where you can hear Church from RvB arguing with an elite who is trying to stab them to death.
Fun fact about the Reach settlers: During Blue Team's return to Reach on a secret ONI assignment they encounter the local settlers/militia whom have been giving the Banished hell, going full on guerilla warfare-mode on them. The militia explains to John and the others that they've been able to arm themselves using the literal hundreds of underground weapons- and ammo-caches left behind by the UNSC during the Fall of Reach. John then silently contemplates that the Reach settlers must be the most heavily armed militia to date.
