- Join me as I explore my first night in Rayong, Thailand. In this video, I take you on a tour of my $15 hotel located in a fantastic area of Rayong, right in the heart of all the main markets and the vibrant Night Bazaar.
After settling in, I hit the Night Bazaar and nearby streets to give you a firsthand look at the surroundings and the lively atmosphere of Rayong.

My first impressions of Rayong will be in the next video, where I get the motorbike. I wanted to wait until I could see abit more. Next one coming very soon.
Not a bad hotel room for the money Wayne. The set up reminds me of most I stayed in during my Thai travels. Nice vid mate. Cheers 🤩
Not bad at all mate, I can't grumble. Cheers !
You left at the right time, the last 2 days have been horrendous here in Chiang Mai.
Yes, I looked today and it looks horrendous.
@@WalkAboutWaynegood video well done hope you go to bang saray from Scott new Zealand
$26 Aud for your room ? VALUE ! Thanks for the look around Rayong . I've never been there - YET .
Yes, it was a great deal on the room, no complaints. Early impressions of Rayong are good 👍
Nice one Wayne.
You certainly got an arsh full with that kebab. Bargain.
Take it easy.
🤣🤣
Wayne there's a brilliant cake stall on the night Market, had a cheese cake and it was almost as good as my own. Also there's a lady selling Thai fish cakes on a stick, well worth buying a few to snack on as and when required.
Nice! Always good to have cake mate 👍. Cheers
I always bang my head walking around that market
🤣 I'm always doing it mate or hitting my knees.
I just love the mix of facts and side-remarks! “Just bring a camera - You feel like Hugh Hefner”😂🤣🤣🤣👍🏻
Super interesting vlog👌🏻
Haha. Where do I get these one liners from 🤣. The camera is a magnet 🧲
Thank you for stopping by to say hello.😊
Did I meet you?
Nice Wayne, enjoy your travels pal. Looks like you are!
Thank you mate 👍
Nice editing 14:12 I mean I had to take a second look 👍
Not sure what it is, but cheers 🥂
@@WalkAboutWayne nice fruit 🍒
Looks a nice place.
Nice chilled town mate 👍
Super clean rooms and very affordable
Yes, no complaints from me.
Hi Wayne me and my two friends went to rayong in December 2022 on the way to Koh samet , we actually stayed in that hotel where you are and we were going to stay for 3 night but we only stayed for one because there wasn’t much to see , but we went to a beach called laem charoen beach and it was pretty cool with lots of good seafood restaurants have fun it’s good watching you there
Nice one mate! I like the location of the hotel, walking distance to the market. Yes I agree, there doesn't seem to be a lot of things to do in Rayong. I'm not really a tourist attraction, I prefer hitting the city streets. I been to that beach today, it will be in my next vlog. Cheers mate.
I’ve just watched another blog about Rayong and it looks like there is a few nice places but you’ll need a bike 🏍️ ,so when you get your bike you’ll be sound
Three nights in Rayong and three weeks in Pattaya🤣👍💪🍺🤪
🤣🤣 You never know mate
If your anywhere near Ban Phe I’ll buy you a coffee ( Monday ) as Tuesday we’re away on Holiday.
I won't be around, sorry. It would have been good to meet. Maybe next time. I think I've seen some of your vlogs before. Keep up the vlogging 👍👍
@@WalkAboutWayne No prob, enjoy your travels. Best wishes Les
I've lived in Sa Kaeo province for over 20 years and never been to Rayong ,though it's fairly close just to the south . Yes ,Thailand is cheap ,ten quid for a room ,just over a quid for a keebab
Nice! Hope you can see Rayong one day. Yes, it's still super cheap in Thailand, when compared to the west.
Ah... It's burning season in Chiang Mai! 😁 I always get Rayong and Ranong mixed up - this is the one to the east of Pattaya, not the one in the South. I hear a lot of Bangkok people move there when they retire - not too far from the Metropolis, but far enough for property prices to be lower, and far enough from Pattaya for obvious reasons.. 😁. 1:48 - Ooo! A Tao Bin! First one I saw was in Chiang Mai - that University to the north of the Chang Phueak Gate. I thought it was just coffee and bubble tea at first, but they also have iced soda water. Lots and lots of them in Bangkok, great when you've been out walking and need something to drink. Found one in KL the other week! But the soda costs double what they do in Thailand, and the ones here don't take cards or coins (you have to use a phone app to scan a QR Code). I found out there's one at the library here on the University campus, still haven't visited it yet. 4:24 - at least they don't have a window between the bathroom and the bedroom.. 🤣 I must admit, that was the strangest thing about hotel rooms in Thailand.. 5:55 - Seafood should be pretty good there I'd imagine.
I use to get Ranong and Rayong mixed up also. Yes, this is the one near Pattaya. Seafood is great down here. 👍👍
@@WalkAboutWayne Yeah, I had to look it up this time, too.. 😅
Wayne is the food more expensive than chaing Mia ? Or is it similar to Rayon
Happy holiday Wayne, have fun!!
Thanks Kirsty 👌👌
Laem Charoen Beach is more of a tourist spot but most head for Pattaya . The sellers in the clothing markets are sharp so you have to shop around for stuff. The ones close to the entrance are the most expensive. The cheapest are at the back .People come out when it’s cool .night life continues till after midnight ! Enjoy it ..
I really liked Charoen Beach, so chilled. But I've heard it's busy on weekends. Cheers 🍷
Really busy!! 😳😂
Did I say that?? It's really quiet here. Or maybe the supermarket was busy . Cheers 🍻
The market was so full of people! Enjoy! Following…@@WalkAboutWayne
That shop was called the one shop. Lots of restaurants and bar owners used it before Makro arrived. Still popular I see.
Nice one!
Looking good Wayne - no complaints there - Good hotel & market 👌👌- Nice work WW 👍👋🙏
All good Ant, I can't grumble mate . Cheers buddy.
I’ve stayed nearby in Laem Mae Phim beach area
It’s true that locals come down on the weekends and normally very quiet during the weekdays
Cheers!
Yes Dennis, a few people have told me it gets busy on the weekends with Thais. It's a nice chilled town though. Thanks
Good video well done hope you go to bang saray from Scott new Zealand
Cheers Scott.
Very nice room for the price, even nicer than my room in Hua Hin which I''m very happy with for 1350 baht per night. It is roasting here too
Hey Dan, yes the room was a good deal I thought and right next to the markets. The heat is a real problem for making videos down here. I'm just soaked after 5 minutes walking.
@@WalkAboutWayne No doubt, although today was a lot better than yesterday, I was drenched in sweat walking yesterday but today was not as bad.
Hope you visit koh samed
I would like too, if I have time. I'm moving on soon.
Yeah that railing on the balcony looks really low
Yes, it was really low .
Hmm Wayne, you may want to rethink $15 hotel. Beds are usually concrete
I have stayed in a few $15 hotels
Slept like a baby mate 👍
@@WalkAboutWayne good to hear
The whole area was called Star plaza at one time.
Yes, so many places called Star here. Even the massage place ☺️
I went to the beach once in Rayong but never saw the city. All Thai cities are pretty similar in the cores so it's better to check out the surrounding areas and get an idea of how the character of a place and how people live etc...
Nice! I always like to check both really. I normally like the city centre and a place just outside .
as long as theres a fridge, microwave, internet and digital tv I can plug in my Apple TV I can live there! lol
That's right Mark, don't need the Ritz mate.
They smiling hoping for that farang monthly sponsorship deal 😂
🤣🤣🤣
Howdy my good looking friend ever wonder how they get clear bags with soup so inflated and how do they get those rubber bands on the bags so tight?
They use the Thailand knot 👍. Thanks mate
Rayong looks alright, much cleaner than Pattaya.
I've really liked Rayong so far. I still have to witness Pattaya 🤣
Not the Flea market mate. The flea market is Tuesday and Thursday behind the Night Bazaar. Thats just a supermarket
Yes mate, I knew something was up 👍
Can’t complain with price of that room
Yes mate, I can't grumble.
Rayong maerumphueng beach is good rayong price good no expansive
Nice one!
1:45 did you say coffee ☕☕?
Never touched it
Dumb question, Whats the public toilet situation like over there, especially where its hot ie drink more p-ss more, i couldn't think of anything worse than busting for a slash and not finding the dunny.😮💨 i suppose Google maps would show them?
Good question mate, it can be hard to find a bog in some places. I remember when I first came to Thailand , I couldn't find one anywhere. It's normally a temple, market or mall I head to now, if I need the toilet.
It’s very cheap Wayne 15 dollars £11 a night or just over wow man a Bobby dazzler
Bobby Dazzler mate 👍
How much for the month
I don't know, never asked. I'm sure they'll have a deal on
540 baht a night, you can’t fault that
No complaints. The location is great.
think those places are nice to find the type of woman that is actually atracted to you , not youre wallet
probably helps if you know a little of thev thai language and customs and not realy hunting but just let it come youre way , dress nice , look friendly and be courtious
the 150 should do ok as long as you dont have to go over mountains ( brakes dont like those either ) for that you better get a shifting bike that way you can downshift and brake on the motor
rented both when i was there , one downside from the sportier shifting bike is that you dont have a place to put shoppingbags , you allways need to take a backpack with you to put stuff in , allso allways need both hands so no phone / navigation in one hand and trottle with the other
You can go nearly everywhere on a 125. I done all my trips on a 125 click , easy. It is always better to have a bigger bike though, I agree.
Not bad for $15. Of course you don't get something half that good in America for 10X the price.
Yeah not bad mate, especially for the location.
Stupid comparison. That's because your privileged arse is from US economy and earns USD. That's why it's "cheap" for you. Facts are facts. Not sorry if I hurt your fragile feelings.
Thailand markets same same
Everything is convenient in Thailand you have your standardised food in the markets and clothes, 7 eleven
Is all fine the main thing is the people you meet
True. I'm interested in the streets they walk on aswell. I think you can get a good feel by the locals streets. 👍👍
@@WalkAboutWayne yes you get the pulse of the place yet somehow, for me hard to connect to the Thai people maybe it's their poor English but yes it is what it is
I stick to the foreigners and I select fx a place where there are interesting characters like fx Koh Phangan, yet now more and more crazy people here
Used to be a bit more chilled
I think the Thai education system is also not so good people seem a tad too shallow in their knowledge also
But then again you have the buddhist monks some might have deep knowledge yet I didn't visit any retreats where they organise Vipassana nor did I speak to any monks
The lift is a downer? Is that a joke? 😂
I'm here all week 🤣
@@WalkAboutWayne I thought you meant it's a downer because it goes down, was gonna say it also goes up 🤣
Looks very overcast there!
It was when I arrived , even slight rain. Super hot though.
Why not put the Headline in Thai Baht, that's the currency here, not dollars
It's just a TH-cam standard mate, we all use the world's currency. Not many Thai people are watching bud.
I've been saying that for years to many vloggers in Thailand but they're all obsessed with the US dollar because most of their viewers are from America and as we know, most Yanks have no idea there is even a world outside their own borders. 🤨
I'm from the UK living in Thailand and Vietnam and I'd much rather see everything in the local currency! 👍
@@asiatravels007 well said mate, me as well!!!!
@@WalkAboutWayne well I don't bloody use it!!!😁😁😁
You got Google?
