I cannot tell you how much diatomaceous earth has helped me. I saw one of your previous videos when you discussed it but this video was more in depth and informative. Your 30 year old horse looks FANTASTIC! My husband and I sold our "city" house and are moving to the country in November. We will be debt free for the 1st time in our lives, own the house we are buying debt free, have a little in the bank and I think I will get a part time job. I lost my job and medical benefits of 34 years, just like alot of the world due to this "health crisis" and it brought things into perspective. Not all at once but it has been gradual. Next spring, since we are now allowed to have chickens, will be getting 2, to start maybe 3. Thanks to all your chicken videos I am more confident I will be able to do good husbandry. I am excited to start this new endeavor at this time in my life and eventually help my neighbors with some eggs which are very expensive right now.

I use DE to control flies in my coop. When it rains frequently the poop is slow to dry . So I put in a sieve and sprinkle around coop. Presto flies disappear in a couple of days.

Becky, I love ur videos. I found u this summer by accident and have been watching ever since. 😁 I started using Diatomaceous Earth after I watched one of ur videos. I have dogs, cats, rabbits, chickens, and now ducks. I give it to ALL of my animals. We have an old dog he is 12 years old and he was not walking, had stopped moving pretty much lost interest n everything lost so much weight and was giving up. I told my husband that I had just watched a video and I was getting some of the earth from Amazon. I told him let's put it on his food and c if he will eat it and if it will help. By the grace of God he is still with us and is running around like he was 4 years ago. He is still skinny for him but put back on some weight that he had lost. I'm convinced that it was the diatomaceous earth that saved his life. I just recently got baby ducks. They will b a week old on Monday October 11th. Can I mix their food with the diatomaceous earth rite now or should I wait a few weeks? I started my chicks rite off with it but I don't recall u talking about ducklings. Thank u so much for all ur helpful info.

I can not tell you... how much your videos have helped me on my first journey of starting an egg laying flock💗 soo much Great info, I'm always eagerly waiting a next video drop😁
I have- had 21 bb chicks, they are brooding and about one month old. This morning when I came out I found one bb chick had passed, I'm completely at a loss here. I spend an hour with them morning-noon-an evening, with visual checknins during the day. In the morning and evening I pick about half of them up and spend some time loving and checking them over ( mostly petting and talking to them ) last night I did handle this chick and she seemed just fine-no signs of stress, to find her passed this morning.
All other chicks seem to be normal and just fine. I'm just south of Houston, TX. And the temp hadn't dropped, they do have a heat lamp still on them each night. She was about two feet from the heat lamp next to the waterer when I found her. When I did do a quick peek out the window door last night I did notice about 1/3 of the chicks were resting in that same spot. Do you have any idea what I may be doing wrong or suggestions ?

I am a first time owner, I have tried the apple cider in water but he wont drink his water with it in it, I've tried putting it in his feed to. I have tried oregano oil in his feed to. When using DE to deworm your chickens, can you still eat the eggs?
Do you have videos about chickens that are open mouth breathing? I have a small flock of 8. They primarily live in a 10'x10' run and I let them out to forage around my yard every other day or so. I added apple cider vinegar to their water and started DE two days ago. My chickens are 20 weeks old. 2 hens have their mouth open frequently. I can't really tell if they maybe are hot or are showing signs of gapeworm. Do you have a video on gapeworm?

Some videos i have watched says not to use the de some say it works so iam going to do my experment on a older horse who looks terriable. Shes been wormed with the paste wormers not helping the vet came out said shes old put a blanket on her and feed beet pulp 2xs a day. A flake of alfalfa its getting costly so i will take before and after pitcures so cure her or else. Starting today iam going to try the de.wish me luck. So well see if the de will help.starting today.
Diatoms after they died in lakes are 100 percent silica.
I take it every and feed to my dog.
It helps skin . Nails bones.

Hey becky love this channel i have 18 hens and onley get 6 eggs a day please help. I keep my chickens feed i feed the crumble layer feed and cracked corn and keep them plenty of water let them out at 4 a clock every evening
What feed are you feeding them? If you are using producers pride, dumor or any Purina feeds get them off of that. My chickens were not laying eggs on Purina feed and as soon as I switched them to kalmbach feed they started laying. You can also make your own and give them scraps from your table and some meat here and there. God bless.

Hi Becky, does Diatomaceous Earth help with tapeworms? I’ve been noticing tapeworm segments in my chicken’s poop, so I have been giving them Diatomaceous Earth (the same one that you use) in their food. I sprinkle a lot of it in their feed and have been doing that several times a week for about 3 weeks now, but I keep seeing tapeworms in their poop. Any suggestions?
Did you find out if it helps treat tapeworms? I was going to use this but my cats get tapeworms not sure if this would even help them?

What dog foods have you used and liked?
I used DE , was successful. Then I decided to do another cleanse a few years later.
Instead of teaspoons I took a large spon, may be up to twice a day, after a week or so, I had a man period. I used bentonite clay to heal my intestines and after 2 years, there was no sign of any damage
Like my father always said "you do it to yourself" no need to take a tablespoon twice a day. Less is more☀️❤️☀️

Again I think a video comparing and contrasting DE, Sweet PDZ and First Saturday Lime is really needed. FSL claims to do everything the other two do, but does it? I have used all three and I have used the DE you use in this video for 2 years. No problems. People claim that chickens may develop respiratory problems with DE. You should address that, as well.
I don't waste my time bouncing around trying products. DE has worked great for 20 years on my Homestead. Keep it simple ☀️❤️☀️

Yes it does kill fleas. One thing to keep in mine though is that it will dry out their fur, which does not hurt them, but I don't use it on my dogs or cat more than once a month.☀️❤️☀️

I've seen some brands mixed with calcium. I don't like it & think 💯 % food grade diatomaceous earth works best. Beware of products with other stuff mixed in. IMO Love Becky's videos! ❤️

@@BeckysHomestead I happen to know from experience that it doesn't kill tapeworm. Also many sources and people who use it say it doesn't.
Re: tapeworm in dogs , I sprinkled ( used small openings on empty spice Jar on both ..... salt shaker would probably do) ) DE plus powered turmeric on food twice a day and after several weeks the whole tape worm was expelled. Plus I used shredded carrots for treats. It worked and thats what counts

Yes, I used it for my itchy pug the other day and he's better now (rubbed into his coat for mites). Vet wanted to put him on daily meds for the rest of his life! She shouldn't be allowed to practice and Becky should get to call herself a vet, but this is America.
Yes, also for external parasites rubbed in pet's fur, but not too often, maybe once a week because it will dry their skin
I do, mix it in his food. If you sprinkle it on his fur, be sure to only do that once a month, because it will dry his fur out. ☀️❤️☀️
@@BeckysHomestead I have a 4lb Pomeranian/Chihuahua mix, how often do you give it to your dogs? Do you mix DE everytime you buy a new bag of dog food? I've heard it has killed cats and dogs because it hurt their lungs. Just a little nervous to try it.
We live in a southern state and he gets fleas just from being out on our property. I don't like using the flea treatments tubes on him but hate for him to itch and don't want any fleas in my house. Will this help to sprinkle in the yard? Will it hurt Buster if he happens to step in it and pick his paws? Love your channel! Thank you!
It would be nice if you either edited, updated or just deleted older videos that contain bad information. I just added D.E. to all my nesting boxes today, after watching one of your previous videos. You also advised not to use crushed Oyster shells because they made the eggs taste bad. Love your videos, just frustrated.

Always be extra careful when treating any baby. I will start to deworm my chickie babies when they are a month old. I always start out super light. Just a tiny bit in their food. Never a need to go heavy on the DE when deworming. ☀️❤️☀️
