ScanSnap iX500 not opening or connecting to scanner - super easy fix - how to

  • Right click on start Menu: Click run and type: services.msc
    Locate: Windows Image Acquisition (WIA)
    Under Logon tab select: Use system account and check to allow access.
    Restart computer.
    Fujitsu scanner: Unable to connect with ScanSnap due to an error in the program’s operation environment
    Fujitsu scanner: Unable to connect with ScanSnap
    ScanSnap software not working after a Windows update fix. If your app suddenly stopped working check this setting and reboot. There is a good chance it will fix the issue.

    Thankyou for posting this video. Yay! Scanner now works. 🙂Should have searched for this video first rather than wasting half an hour of my time trying to stubbornly fix it myself.

    I literally bought a whole new scanner because I kept having this problem. Now I have 2 working scanners. YOU FIXED IT!! Thank you!!!! This has been driving me crazy!

    I am not tech savvy so started to panic when my scanner stopped responding. This fixed it and I am so grateful! Interestingly all my windows are opening up so much faster after this fix not sure if it is connected. I am a new subscriber! Thanks

    Thank you so much for this fix!! Been pulling my hair out with my company IT department for the past 2 weeks trying to get my ScanSnap ix1600 to connect every morning on startup and the only way was to reboot the PC every morning, so thanks to you I told them this is what you have to do and it worked!! Thank you so much!!!

    OH MAN THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! MY BOSS TRIED TO FIX IT THE WHOLE DAY YESTERDAY AND I WAS ABLE TO DO IT IN LESS THAN 10 MINS TODAY. OH GOD THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! NOW I GOT TONS OF PAPERWORK TO GO BACK TO. THANKS A LOT!!!!

    This fix worked! Thank you very much for posting this video. I spent an hour troubleshooting (changing USB cables, restarting desktop/scanner, reinstalling software, going through the wireless setup, etc). I was concerned it may be a hardware issue, so I am glad this seems to have fixed it!

    You are my new hero. I had been wrangling with the ScanSnap for months, but it finally got to the point where no amount of turning off/on, reconnecting the USB cable, restarting Windows, using the Recovery Tool, etc., would make it work. Even when the scanner did connect, it was scanning documents but hanging ScanSnap Manager, so the scans never appeared. Although your screen shots (even full-screen) are so fuzzy that I had to listen multiple times to make sure I was getting the instructions right, I did manage to fix it in the end and have successfully scanned two years' worth of bank statements!

    I have been given a case number by tech support. I didn’t even know they were discontinuing support. I was so excited when I saw your short video but it didn’t fix my “Scan Snap is not connected” issue.
