Very interesting. However you can't control the looper. Neither 'Looper', 'Looper Stop' or 'Looper clear' are possible via MIDI directly. BOSS seem to have failed to implement this. Neither can you attach to the GT1000's MIDI interface via USB using an android device running in host mode. The GT1000-CORE does not correctly report its MIDI interface over USB. Woops!!! To control the looper via MIDI, BOSS suggests a workaround by using the AMP CTRL outputs and making these trigger SW4&5, (which can be controlled via MIDI), and then hardwire looping these back into the GT1000-CORE into SW2&3. This just about works, but each time you fire a MIDI CC command this way the GT1000-CORE toggles an internal physical relay ....."CLICK". Arrgghh nasty. I contacted BOSS to suggest a firmware update,..... no real response. A bit of a mess if you ask me.
Your video is very frustrating. Your directions for setting up presets works fine but the portion for setting up control blocks within the preset is not working for me. When I select toggle mode on it changes nothing, it still remains in the preset settings for the patch. I also notice you are in bank 2 when setting up controls for blocks. Why is that? My editor also looks slightly different than yours. Does the newer editor I am using work differently then your demo? You need to better explain how to transition from setting up presets to setting up control blocks within the preset. It does not work the way you demo it. Is a step missing?
Hi. If you don't understand what toggle mode is yet, please watch this video: th-cam.com/video/VEr0TB58EgA/w-d-xo.html It does not do anything on its own. You still need to program what you want the switch to do. There's no reason we were in bank 2. We just chose to. Which bank you are in does not matter. All banks are the same. @James Scott I still can't get it to work as described in the video. Once you setup switch C to recall U005, how can you then use switch C again to engage or bypass effect blocks? There is something missing in the video. I ended up assigning each bank on the Morningstar (I'm using an MC6 MKII) to a preset on my GT Core. I move between presets on the GT Core by using the Bank up or down on the Morningstar. Then within that bank, I setup the switches to engage and bypass blocks within the preset. I will also switch back to Kemper as the GT core doesn't work well with external pedals (over compresses)
As we have already mentioned to you multiple times, please email us at help@ morningstarfx.com if you require further assistance. We provide technical support from there. A service ticket will be created for you and we will be able to follow up easily. Cheers!
@@MorningstarEngineering after trial and error I’ve gotten it to operate in a way that serves my needs. I don’t think it’s the same way as your demo but that’s a mute point now.
That's the only way I could figure out how to make it work. The only problem doing it my way is there are only 30 banks on the MC6.
My way limits me to 30 presets, not good
