Teacher's kindness to their students still exists here in the Philippines until now. If teacher knew that one of her student has no food during recess time, with her own money she will give the student so as to have something to eat during break time. They are just like a second parents to all students. A typical Filipino attitude.
we treat our teachers here as our parents. since we spend more time at school, we create special bonds with our class adviser. you wouldn't believe that I'm still in contact with my Grade 6 adviser. She's already 80+ years old and I'm already married with kids also but the bond we built remains the same. that's how Filipinos are.
We have a lot of Korean women living in the Philippines that were married to a pilipino men, not just Korean men married to a pilipina, they choose to live in the Philippines rather than in their country, as a pilipino myself I’ve had been to Korea it is a beautiful country very developed but Philippines is where you can be happy is where all the fun, very diverse country and people always smile 😃 😊
I'm Filipina and there is quite a number of Koreans who go to school here to learn English They get English tutors as well as go to formal school maybe for year or two. In some cases its longer than that
Also teachers treat their students as their second childrens. We don't just go to school to learn but to have good relationship with others.Teachers here are more aware of the students behavior than the parents. If the teacher notices something is wrong on one of his/her student they will call the attention of the parents to talk.
So true! We have teachers right now that are battling some health problems and some even passed away. Our batch have a group chat so even former students that are outside the country (like me) will have updates about them and we help them financially or any other help we can give. Like some of our batchmates/classmates are doctors, engineers etc and we help our teachers for free. Us who are abroad, sends money to them if we can. We love our teachers ❤️
so the video you just watch is her 2nd video about her staying in the Philippines. She has a first video which explains why they moved in the Philippines and her growing up in the Philippines titled, *“Growing up in the Philippines as a Korean”*
In my time growing up in the 70's.. The Cebuano/visayan people were used to be treated as second class citizens by the tagalogs. Primarily because of our hard tongue, especially when talking in tagalog, the tagalogs would always laugh and even looked down on us as provincials! But then tagalogs only know 2 languages Tagalog and English.. while provincials mostly 3, our mother tongue, Tagalog and English.
One thing about the Philippines is that they are super friendly with foreigners. They get excited to see and interact with them. It makes you feel like a friend or family that they haven't seen for a long time, that's how welcoming they are. And there too if it's your friends parents you call them aunt and uncle too not like here in America first name. And sometimes you can call them Mom or Dad too. So moving here kinda feels really different.
Welcome to the Philippines. Just enjoy what the country offers. Each Island/region/province is unique. It is easy to travel from one place to another, but don’t be too complacent take care of yourself and your stuff.
I recall my high school English teacher, who served as a mother figure to me as an orphan. She supported me during my valedictory speech and helped me secure a college scholarship, for which I am deeply grateful for my success.❤
Our elementary and HS teachers (batch ‘83 and ‘87) are actively in our class chat group. Every time we have events, they’re included in the planning and all. Our classmates will make necessary arrangements for their transportation - picking them up/dropping them off.. making sure they are comfortable and well taken care of. This is a norm in the Philippines. We have a special bond with our teachers because we look up to them as our second parents.
The Philippines is waiting for you guys. Stay more on country sides and enjoy our beaches and mountains, for nothing too much to see in Manila, except buildings and traffic😂 Manila is the capital of Central Philippines while Cebu is the capital city of South Philippines. and by the way, it's Morissette Amon's birth place. Thank you for appreciating our beautiful country.
If I were you, you can drop Manila first but stay in BGC(Bonifacio Global City) or Makati, it's a nice place for sure, then go to Cebu as you wish where there're places to look at and do some island hopping to: Boracay, El Nido and Coron in Palawan Is., etc. Please take my advice, you won't get lost...❤❤❤
Never forget Siargao and if they up for some spooky folklore Siquijor but still with lovely beaches 😊 Too bad I moved back to my home town last month. It would've been nice to show em around Cebu. Anyways nice suggestion and great reaction vid! ❤
I agree with this one. Take the city first to get things you need and to familiarize your self first then hit the tourist spots after like 2 days. Cebu (Whale shark and Moalboal for snorkeling, if your adventurous check Canyoneering) Palawan for island hopping, trekking, La Union and Siargao for Surfing. Chill on Boracay beach. Bohol to see the Tarsier, see the chocolate hills. There is more to see but this is the top spots.
Jessica learned her english in the Philippines, Bacolod to be exact, she was turned down in korea as an english speaker due to her accent, which is pilipino english. You will even detect accent difference in how the regions speak english.

Love your channel, I’m Filipino American living in California. I just heard you are visiting the Philippines in August or November… I would suggest Early November because August I believe is still typhoon season.. Early November airfare is still reasonable airfare goes up nearing Christmas… you should also experience Christmas and new year in the Philippines. Enjoy, I am planning to visit next year as well ❤
Typhoon season is actually from Ber months, strong ones are mostly on November-December, as someone from Bicol (typhoon prone province) the best month to visit the country would be on summer, like April-June if they'll be here for vacation sites, if its the people, culture, or food, anytime would be fine I guess 😊

My teacher in Physics I remember he was very strict but very caring. Every quarter he would personally go to each house of his students to report our progress or how we perform in school and we were 45 students under his class, this was back in 1985.. This teacher of mine I got him as one of the sponsors at my wedding.. and to this date we still communicate. He is still the same teacher that he was, he still check on us.. we love love him still.. One of the respected teachers in our school back then and still is..
Hi guys!!you made me watch from your first reaction because of SB19 and now WELCOME TO the land of the morning sun! Thank you for giving appreciating our country THE PHILIPPINES!
Just by watching Jessica's video you can really tell that Filipinos are one of the best people in the world. The Philippines may still be considered as a third world country but we have rich culture and traditions, we are one of the friendliest, the most hospitable and the most welcoming people even to strangers. This may not apply to every Filipino out there but I can tell you... you will really have a great stay here in the Philippines.
Not anymore, i think you more latest to read. You can see most expensive anywhere in the communities. In province each house has owned 2 to 5 vehicles .
so true here in the Philippines, like recently we just had professional organization reunion was teary eyed to see my 90+ year old professor with her nurse of course the aging and stuff is visible but her hair style, clothes and demeanor is still the same like back in college, she is the only one still alive among my major prof in collge... and my aunt who used to be an international school teacher would bring her foreign students to our family outing and gatherings bcoz its one of the way for them to learn the language and culture that is to have communication with the locals
thank you for reacting to jessica lee, one of my fave vloggers even before from the first few vlogs where in she just put engish subtitles and just spoke korean only. her vlogs improved so much.
My secondary school classmates still kept in touch and sometimes met informally after 40 plus years. All grey and wrinkled but remembring our escapades that closeness is not found anywhere else
I had a teacher in grade school who would give me extra journalism lessons every week in her house just because she believed in my potential as a writer. That went on for three years free of charge. Also, until now as a middle-aged mom, i still get in touch with my high school and college teachers. Anyways, Bacolod is just a 30-minute flight from Cebu. It has lots of historical houses that are worth checking out. Food is very delicious and affordable too. And yes, the people are very sweet and friendly. As for rats in hotels, there shouldn't be any, especially in the city. I guess she checked in at the old hotels. Also from Cebu, you can ride a 2-hour ferry to Bohol which has beautiful beaches and lots of interesting places to visit. Cebu City itself is a bit chaotic. Narrow roads and too much traffic. But the provinces are great and the people are nicer and accommodating. Do visit around November. June-October is typhoon season so expect lots of rain during those months.
I am a soon to be teacher (I will take the board examination for professional teachers next month) and the Teacher-Student bond here is very strong, there are limitations, but as a teacher, we have to stand as the second parent.
Yes, Cebu. It's called the Queen City of the South. Heard lots of beautiful places, resorts, beaches in Cebu. That would be a good start for first impressions.
I moved to the US in ‘94 and my first visit back was in 2019. One of the highlights was hanging out with my kindergarten teacher who lives in the neighborhood.
It's so nice to look at you guys enjoying in our beautiful country Philippines. It is in our culture to treat a foreign people like you. See how they treat her it's like she is a part of the family. We're raised by our parents to be always kind, honest, helpful, respect of course to everybody. It is in our blood, culture to be ...
Teachers here, treat their students like their own children, that's why we love our teachers like we love our parents, Foreigners are so welcome in the Philippines, Thanks and God bless
Mostly teachers in the Philippines is a second parents of the childrens, I remember when i was in Elementary,im 45 now but we still Bond until today, we're family friends, and when my teacher daughter wedding im the bestman there, soo amazing experience to treasure...thats our community is a passionate amongst other not be the greatest but simple to called community relationship.
Hey guys when I stayed in Manila, I stayed at the BGC, I was impressed because it's like I'm in San Francisco. the accommodations that I booked was amazing. If you stay in Manila try to go to the BGC area. You'll thank me for it. I watched some of her videos I think she has a video that explained everything why she's in the Philippines.
Welcome guys and we are looking forward to you coming here. I would suggest you stay in the provinces than the big cities. That way you would have a slower pace of life and be able to appreciate the natural beauty of our country.😊
This is the beauty and the gift of relationships here i the Philippines! This is normal community in the Philippines. My prayer for both of you is with the short time that you stay here, you'll be able to forge genuine and beautiful relationships here which will push you to keep coming back. Always be wise as you meet people but don't close yourselves to the love of the Filipinos. #sincerity #genuine
If you want to visit in November, you might as well book your flight 6 months earlier. The air fare is cheaper but if you book it a month before your flight its twice expensive.
My mother was a teacher and she's really really kind to her students and treat them like their own. She would tell me her student's problem and how she can help them.
She passed away 3 years ago and some of her students posted in social medias their picture and how kind and loving my mother was. Even during her medication, some gave us money for help😭
Education/schools in the Philippines is like same as in other countries. We go to school at 7am, have recess at around like 9am for 30minutes. Then go back to class again, then have lunch at 12 in the afternoon. Then go back to class an hour later. Class ends usually at around 4pm. (Not all, but majority of schools here). We also have strict rules and regulations in our school here, with uniform, length of hairs for males, there is also a NO HAIR COLORING policies in public school, sometimes rules with jewelry too. I studied in a private school when I was in high school and they have these extreme rules in the school where jewelry is not allowed (only watches), phones are not allowed as well, the length of the skirt is very strict, it should not go above the knee, and also not colored bra (undergarments) allowed (because our blouse is white. Very very strict.
We love and respect our teacher like our 2nd parents.. I just want to share that i still keep in touch my teacher in daycare that was 23 to 25yrs ago even my teachers in elementary and high school. And yes if u have plan to come here in the Philippines you are much Welcome..we Filipinos will treat you both like a family.. thank you for appreciating Filipinos humility and attitude.. God Bless
i stumble with you guys while searching for Jessica's video because i am an avid sub of hers and its nice to watch your reaction to her vlog going to bacolod my place and my city, bacolod is a nearby island next to cebu its mostly provincial but most expats resides in this island if they want peace and quiet, there was a video uploaded a couple of weeks ago where she visits her teachers in the US, here in ph we treat our teachers as second parents even if the age gap is almost the same and most teachers bond with their students to create a core memory that will last long. seen your video guys reacting to some filipino artist etc hope so can visit ph and enjoy the stay, GOD bless
Aug, Nov is monsoon season. U may experience rainy days and flood. Just do not put high expectation. U can hv sunny days during this time, it will be hit and miss. Summer months is the best time to explore if u can take the hot weather. Just hv an open mind, best wishes to ur visit to the Philippines and Asia.
I’m a Filipino-American citizen living in California, yes I’m very proud of my Filipino heritage. We are very loving, caring, kind etc. Philippines is a very hospitable country. Wherever you go, you will not get lost because every corner of this country can speak different languages. If you want to go some other places and you don’t how to get there, just ask and they will give you directions or if you don’t mind they will accompany you to that place. There’s a lot of foreigners living in the Philippines. First, it’s cheaper to buy or built a house of your own. Second, the place to live in the Philippines if you want some peace of mind is the province. Recommend the place like Cebu, Leyte, Bohol, Tagaytay every place that is far from the crowded city which is Manila, the capital of the Philippines. Third, if you want to live like the same weather as San Francisco, go to Baguio the summer capital of the Philippines. If you planning to visit just for vacation, November/December is the best time to go there. Spend your Christmas and New Year and experience how beautiful and welcoming environment is waiting for you. A lot of foreigners spent their Christmas and New Year in the Philippines. You will experience the best Christmas and New Year because of the hospitality of the people around you, best food and the New Year in the Philippines is so amazing. Fireworks everywhere, great street foods and everything. Christmas season start in the month of September, October, November and December. We have the longest Christmas celebration of all the country. And you will feel the spirit of Christmas everywhere in my country. My country is not rich when it comes to material things, but we are rich in our love to people around us whether it’s a family, friends, relatives and other people etc. Filipinos are very sweet, loving, caring, generous, kind, humble and most of all very religious people. So, please don’t wait, visit the Philippines and feel the warmth and very welcoming country in the world. ❤️❤️❤️👍👏🫶
Iloilo, guimaras and boracay it’s not too far in Bacolod and cebu hopefully you guys can visit in my province in Iloilo very beautiful and very kind people there. Thanks😊
June to November is rainy season in the phillippines most of the time it's rainy.and around Sept or October most of the typhone is in the southern phillippines
She guested in one of SB19’s Showbreak. They played classmates and they went to some historical places in Manila. This Showbreak was hilariously funny.
Have watched few of her videos doing crazy thungs in the Philippines and how she adopted to the culture her upbringing apparently from Bacolod duringn her younger years orobably developed there. Once in awhile I stumble on her blogs . T,hank guys for doing reaction video about her wouldnt kn low she has Philippine roots. Ive been to Bacolod twice a nice city with over 600000 people. They have great food the inasal is their best and Sipalay is where youll find great beach resorts if you happen to visit but the Philippines with over 7600 each experience is unique..
It's very common here to be friends with your teachers. Especiay when u grow up in 1 school. And sometimes u celebrate with them, they go to your parties or you go to their parties. It's sometimes inappropriate but there's really a thin line between being friends/families w/them & these teachers r grown up adult taking advantage of minors. But the latter is so rare that it's d norm to have a tight bond with teachers, tchrs here r generally passionate & rlly cares 4 their stydents.
awww. it's sad when i heard how school is there in the US. Here in the Philippines its the most fun and enjoyable memory for every child.cant wait for you to experience the love here in the Philippines
You will definitely leave your hearts there in the Philippines. One thing though, those months that you will go there, it is the wet months. So expect it to be rainy then sunny then humid. But the people will warm you up though. I was from Las Piñas City, it is in the Metro Manila area almost south of the NCR. Pick your itinerary that are near to each other because remember, there are 7000 + islands to choose from!
So glad that you reacted to this.. I am from the City of Smiles, Bacolod.😊 I heard that your first stop here in the Philippines is Cebu. Negros province is just next to from Cebu and Bacolod is the Capital city of Negros Occidental. From Negros island itself there are so many tourist spots that you can visit. So, if you want to visit Bacolod and more beautiful tourist destinations here, you may take a bus (but take many hours of ride 😳) or plane going to Bacolod and taste our delicacies and famous chicken inasal. 😊 next, take a super ferry going to Iloilo and go to Guimaras island where very sweet mangos are. You may also take a bus from Iloilo city going to the beautiful island of Boracay Island. Hmmm, there are lots of astonishing places here in the Phils. I only wish you can visit them all. 🥰 stay safe and God bless the whole family. 🥰🥰
If you have time to visit a public school in the Philippines, you will surely notice the big difference between here in the US and the students there in the Phils. when it comes to discipline, respect and courtesy.
This is normal in the philippines. Our teachers are our 2nd parents. Sometimes children find love and care at school than at home, especially children of working parents. This is how we differ from other countries.
There are many Korean kids who study in the Philippines for the following reasons: 1. It's cheaper. An exclusive school in the Philippines will cost about 1000USD per year. Although there are public schools in Korea, they don't teach English so if they want to learn, they need to enroll in academies. In the Philippines, English is included in our curriculum from Kindergarten to college. 2. If they enroll in Chinese schools, English and Chinese languages are also taught there. 3. The cost of living is way cheaper. Jessica went to school in Bacolod. It's a progressive city but Manila is the most expensive. I know of Korean kids that are enrolled in Batangas and many other places. 3. Korean kids are enrolled in Philippine schools but they all live in one house (like a dorm) where there's a Korean mom and a Filipino Mom to take care of them. 4. Filipino teachers for the most part are very warm. They will demand respect but they'll also be there when you need them. They're our 2nd mothers.
Bob's is famous in bacolod of there food ang pastries....if you want to go in bacolod month of October they celebrate Masskara festival that's why bacolod called city of smiles...
The Filipino culture is tight knit because most homes are multigenerational --- its not only your parents and siblings living with you but sometimes your aunts, uncles, cousins, grandchildren and or extended family are living under the same roof at any given time period. Also elementary schools are not quite rigid like high school... By that time it's quite structured, preparing you for college which is highly expected.
Teacher's kindness to their students still exists here in the Philippines until now. If teacher knew that one of her student has no food during recess time, with her own money she will give the student so as to have something to eat during break time. They are just like a second parents to all students. A typical Filipino attitude.

Thanks for the info and tips
I am a soon to be teacher (I will take the board examination for professional teachers next month) and the Teacher-Student bond here is very strong, there are limitations, but as a teacher, we have to stand as the second parent.
Yes, Cebu. It's called the Queen City of the South. Heard lots of beautiful places, resorts, beaches in Cebu. That would be a good start for first impressions.
Okay great!
I moved to the US in ‘94 and my first visit back was in 2019. One of the highlights was hanging out with my kindergarten teacher who lives in the neighborhood.
That’s so nice you can hangout with her when you visit
It's so nice to look at you guys enjoying in our beautiful country Philippines. It is in our culture to treat a foreign people like you. See how they treat her it's like she is a part of the family.
We agree!
If you want to visit in November, you might as well book your flight 6 months earlier. The air fare is cheaper but if you book it a month before your flight its twice expensive.
Good idea 👍
Best vibe to start is at Siargao, El Nido, Coron,
Perfect thanks for the advice!😊
I am a Filipino living in Northern Luzon... El Nido and Coron are in my bucket list if given the chance to travel
My mother was a teacher and she's really really kind to her students and treat them like their own. She would tell me her student's problem and how she can help them.
She passed away 3 years ago and some of her students posted in social medias their picture and how kind and loving my mother was. Even during her medication, some gave us money for help😭
That’s so nice
Aww I’m so sorry. I bet you were really happy to see all the people that took the time to show their love towards your mom though.
Wow sounds very strict.
God Bless
We’re so excited to visit soon 😊

i stumble with you guys while searching for Jessica's video because i am an avid sub of hers and its nice to watch your reaction to her vlog going to bacolod my place and my city, bacolod is a nearby island next to cebu its mostly provincial but most expats resides in this island if they want peace and quiet, there was a video uploaded a couple of weeks ago where she visits her teachers in the US, here in ph we treat our teachers as second parents even if the age gap is almost the same and most teachers bond with their students to create a core memory that will last long. seen your video guys reacting to some filipino artist etc hope so can visit ph and enjoy the stay, GOD bless

Cebu and Bacolod are both in Visayas.
Awesome 🤩
❤️❤️❤️👍👏🫶
I’ve been watching home builds in the ph and I’m excited to buy and build a home or two out there
Here in the Philippines our parents thought us to be respectful to everyone and teachers is definitely our 2nd parent
That’s how it should be

She guested in one of SB19’s Showbreak. They played classmates and they went to some historical places in Manila. This Showbreak was hilariously funny.
I'm a silent fan and I'm from Bacolod! The city of smiles!
Can’t wait to visit 😊
Have watched few of her videos doing crazy thungs in the Philippines and how she adopted to the culture her upbringing apparently from Bacolod duringn her younger years orobably developed there. Once in awhile I stumble on her blogs . T,hank guys for doing reaction video about her wouldnt kn low she has Philippine roots. Ive been to Bacolod twice a nice city with over 600000 people. They have great food the inasal is their best and Sipalay is where youll find great beach resorts if you happen to visit but the Philippines with over 7600 each experience is unique..
That’s amazing there’s that man islands
It's very common here to be friends with your teachers. Especiay when u grow up in 1 school. And sometimes u celebrate with them, they go to your parties or you go to their parties. It's sometimes inappropriate but there's really a thin line between being friends/families w/them & these teachers r grown up adult taking advantage of minors. But the latter is so rare that it's d norm to have a tight bond with teachers, tchrs here r generally passionate & rlly cares 4 their stydents.
I love Jessica Lee❤❤❤..she embrace Filipino Culture❤❤❤
She’s so sweet 😊❤️
awww. it's sad when i heard how school is there in the US. Here in the Philippines its the most fun and enjoyable memory for every child.cant wait for you to experience the love here in the Philippines

We will wait for you guys here in cebu
Thanks 😊
Can’t wait to meet everyone 😊🙏
I'm American and never going back to America after what I experienced in the Philippines.. freedom joy
Sounds so relaxing. I’m excited for a change
Teachers treat their students/pupils like their own child. And we treat our teachers like our own parents. They are our second parents in school❤
Some detergent used to laundry may cause allergies, its not that the hotel is not clean.
Good advice 😊
Ok I'll subscribe and wait your videos here in ph
See you soon 🙏😊
That’s Bobs Restaurant infront of Riverside Hospital Bacolod City. This is where i lived and born.Proud Ilonggo here.U can visit my hometown.
Her teachers are based in the US n Pennsylvania.
Nice! 😊
The travel here is going to be hard for sure, but everything will be worth it. Enjoy your trip.
Thanks 😊
Wow thank you for this great info 😊🙏❤️
If you have time to visit a public school in the Philippines, you will surely notice the big difference between here in the US and the students there in the Phils. when it comes to discipline, respect and courtesy.
This is normal in the philippines. Our teachers are our 2nd parents. Sometimes children find love and care at school than at home, especially children of working parents. This is how we differ from other countries.
👍👍
We're going to Cebu this November too! I hope you'll have a great time here. I feel very excited for you! Also henloooo Skittles (or Butters?) 😂
Have fun 🤩
There are many Korean kids who study in the Philippines for the following reasons:
Thanks for sharing this with us
For your Cebu trip, I suggest you guys watch the whale sharks in Oslob, and explore Moalboal for the diving spots. Most foreign nationals go there.
Okay 😊
Back here, we are taught good morals and right conduct...
I wish Americans were taught the same way.
Wow, If your going to Phils.try to visit also Coron. Welcome 🇵🇭
Ok thanks 😊

Watch WAKE UP IN PHILLIPINES YOU LIVE IT

The Filipino culture is tight knit because most homes are multigenerational --- its not only your parents and siblings living with you but sometimes your aunts, uncles, cousins, grandchildren and or extended family are living under the same roof at any given time period. Also elementary schools are not quite rigid like high school... By that time it's quite structured, preparing you for college which is highly expected.
Very cool. It takes a village to raise kids
I'm near at airport Lapu-Lapu City Cebu
