I owned codependency until I broke free from labeling. Separation is key, and was very helpful in my healing. Your teachings have been life giving. TYSM for continuing to hit these tough subjects.!

For me was lack of responsibility, that was what made me codependent.

Dr.Leaf I have been both ministered and inspired and becoming addicted to your teachings, your guest speakers, your mission to teach our children and doctors how mental health is a symptom of circumstances rather than a defective Empath. I LOOK FORWARD TO PRESENTING MY CASE TO YOU.😇✍🙏🥰🙋‍♀️

Thank you for sharing all your great work. I’m currently working on dealing with my issues and the motivation is realizing I’m in a codependent marriage. My husband has been in the caretaker role and it has become toxic and has been for several years. I’m hoping you can answer a question for me, I understand that in order to rebuild our relationship we need some space, but it’s not financially feasible to live separately. So do you have any advice on how to still live together but still get the space we need?

We turned our basement family room into a sleeping and living area for my husband with the agreement to stay away from each other when we separated.

Thanks Dr. Leaf for explaining those concepts.
I had a toxic relationship with my parents the whole time. You will not believe it but it took me until I was 40 years old to finally conclude that the only way to resolve it is to cut them off from my life. I believe that I gave them all the help to reconnect with me but they even refused to visit me in my flat to talk about our relationships “as adults”.
Now looking back after 2 years, I do not regret my decision.

How does doubt change the chemistry of the brain? The bible says if a may doubts let him not think he will receive anything.
So does doubting destroy our progress?

Check out these verses in the Bible regarding too much “togetherness” with each other: Proverbs 25:17, 1 Timothy 5:13, 2 Thessalonians 3:11, 1 Peter 4:15.

Well Caroline to me this codependency is something tht has taken away all the human Rights aback as these r selfish people who no matter wht will keep u in check as an authority over u yr life yr spouse life behaviour with u yr financial , emotional everything .
Keep u as servants yet treat u like son and daughter in law if and as they pleas in front of world or as some rack picker .
It has gone great lengths now we dont want to have a family as no source of income . Then the property will go to the sibbling child ultimately . They r the golden child .
My ? Is y should one marry and waste someone's life if the selfishness doesn't allow progress to take place one ends up being the caretaker .
Have lost my mother to covid .
I find I am being delibrately forced into enabling rather than being empowering .
Any way to come out of this neuroclic way ?
