I remember when my mom was diagnosed with a glioblastoma and she kept asking her doctors if her mental health and over thinking could have caused this. She asked every doctor she encountered and they all said no. Mind body connection is so important! I dodged breast cancer by lots of self work, therapy and past life healing.

I love this man!! I have only read "When the Body says No" but have watched multiple interviews. I can't wait to read "The Myth of Normal." I've literally been expecting to get cancer for a few years, since 8 people in my family have had it. But I love what he says: "We don't have to get sick before we become whole."
I was so screwed up by my parents, it's taken them, bad jobs, bad relationships including d.v, and extreme medical trauma leaving me with several chronic illnesses and then my parents reactions, to wake up! 2 years of anger and grief and learning, reawakened trauma memories and how bad they are with me being ill to finally see why I am where I am. Of course I wish id known before but to search for the truth when you're a far down the rabbit hole and brainwashed, it takes a massive event like hitting a brick wall at 100 kph to stop us in our tracks. Very affirming and uplifting video as in learn affirming and grow, thank you ✌

And voila! I just got a new understanding of authenticity and it makes so much sense! So thank you for this episode.
Brilliant! Although I am not that young to heal myself completely, I have been able to realize that my traumas since I was a child were the product of a life of many mistakes that affected my emotional state as well. That realization made me walk away from those who hurt me for so long, even though I loved them. The best thing to do is to run from them if you want to survive. That action is a pain in itself, but one must do it. I haven't healed completely at 75 but I am on the road to have peace to the end of my days. My faith also has helped me a lot. Thank you so much for your help, because although it is a video not a psycho analysis, you guys are helping people. I have been following Dr. Matte through other videos and will purchase his books. God bless you all.
Thank you Maria, Gabor Mate , I have followed him for along time, hoping you would have him on your podcast. He is such a brilliant, caring human being. You had great questions and showed lots of emotions. 🙏🙏

I share the sentiment; the sense of community and connection is absent. Throughout my life, depending on my residence, I've experienced both the presence and absence of this connection. At present, I live in a place where people are reserved and too busy to interact with one another.

This is my 10th full hour of listening to this Dr. It all makes so much sense. He really listens!!!! and of course , the info and wisdom he shares.....Love it all! Thanks...
I was desperate to feel better while waiting for results of my biopsies and intuitively knew I needed to eliminate dairy and gluten and began to feel better but my doctor told me it had nothing to do with the food I was eating and took me off the NSAIDs I was taking for arthritis and put me on steroids for 3 months, which I am currently taking. I am so frustrated. I just knew it had something to do with the food I was consuming. Thank you for your research and your confirmation that my disease can be treated by changing my diet ❤❤❤
Gabor Mat’e, you amaze me with your genus. God bless you and the work you do to help others. Thank you, and I thank God, for you, you are a gift from God to all of us.

Crazy but true, before hearing this discussion I had written a poem on my life We need your priceless help Dr. Gabor. May God bless you for all you do🙏💗🙏 God bless you too dear Maria💗 And thank you for this podcast 💕
Thank you so much for this video. This man Gabor is amazing he has figured this stuff out. I have been suffering my entire life. My body and mind has finally decided that I can’t function like this anymore. The inability to say no has cost me to much. I was so close to having a severe nervous breakdown. So, I am temporally off from work seeking therapy and on anti-depressant medication.
Owesome book which needs to be digested thoroughly, I so agree. I love hearing Gabor speak, so much wisdom., Speaking truth, no nonsense here. Bless you Gabor Thank you for sharing this gem interview 🌬️✨💖
Profound and true, when you're dead people forget and you're just dust. We shouldn't care what people think of us as much as we do. For me, chasing my mother's love and support has been nearly 6 decades of futility. I can finally admit that I do not like her. A vulnerable narcissist who had a bad childhood, then set out to make me dependent on her for crumbs of transactional love.
Several times as an adult my mother told me “the first time your father hit me I was holding you”. I at the time was resentful because I knew she wanted my sympathy. Today while listening I can phrase it in a different way. As an infant my mom cried louder than me.
Going through a lot of pain and not being able to express those feelings causes all kinds of ill health its not easy to not care less and let it go you get hurt 10:31
I don't know if a person really has to physically move to another place to feel a sense of community. Some people have neighbors two steps away and still don't talk. If you don't have a sense of community, I think we can create it where we are. Create a monthly game night where someone different in the group hosts it each month or have a Sunday dinner every week and invite someone different each time. I think lots of people lack community and they'd appreciate it.
Dear Dr Mate, my emotions Have made me sick, I have been diagnosed with psychogenic tremor caused by chronic stress, anger and anxiety. I was badly conned by a dental Narcissist, every organisation including the police, let me down, this happened to me 7 years ago, I was traumatised and fought all the organisations who were meant to help me, only to find they're corrupt, I was constantly shocked. A year after I put this man in court I found that the dentist in the next room had lied too. Both men are still in the court, to go into detail would take too long but I am now needing an operation, I have list all the bone in my jaw. How do I deal with this horrible tremor, I shake every single day. Thank you.
I really enjoy listening to Gabor, so much of what he talks about resonates with me, I have learned so much already, but I'll never stop! I am healing from depression, brought on by many stressful situations especially the suppression of anger and frustration, so much pain and tension but I know I'll will get better, I owe it to myself!
This was a really great interview. I've listened to Dr. Mate' before, but I really enjoyed this interview more than all of the others. I really enjoyed the conversation you had after the interview with Kelsey. I think it's really great that you both took so much away. I can imagine all of us had at least one aha moment during the interview. One thing Kelsey said that struck me, was when she was talking about taking notes to bring to her therapist. While I love that she is proactive, it's a little depressing to me, that so many of the doctors and therapists don't seem to know half of the stuff they should know, and it almost seems counter productive to see them sometimes. When they aren't really much of a guide, but more of a listener, it just seems like it could be a never ending set of appointments. Like why aren't these therapists bringing it up to US and not the other way around.
I care! The purpose of caring is to built a society of trust! There are people who care! This is not for us, but for people that will come after, to feel safe!
I loved this talk, Gabor Matè, I have so much time for and his work is literally a life saver! When we find and be our authentic selves, the answers were asking and searching come to us. 🙏🌱🕊
Perfection Dr Gabor has shown me a path to self heal. Dr we are grateful for you. My family immideatley and friends. Again thank God you are who you are. Saved my life.
I know he has to cover himself by saying people should take medication...but most often..when people go down that route..they avoid the real healing and actually add further dis-ease and illness.
@@dianas1252 well, all medication is unecessary and toxic to the body...the only cause of disease and disorders is trauma..either from poor diet or unaddressed trauma/stress...medication may benefit short term..but never a long term solution.
@@Wildviking8agreed. I don’t address trauma which came to a head as panic attacks but I was still human and functional. Meds ruined my brain and life. Strange as I had childhood abandonment issues that were whispers. Meds turned them into screams and now I’m 100 💯 abandoned by all, which has created a mental illness that I never had. Angry
@@Wildviking8 I think Gabor would be horrified that you’ve taken that message. I don’t know how much trauma an infant can take on to get eye cancer at 2 weeks old.
Thank you. It is amazing that you are so beautiful inside as well as out. I found your channel because I am consuming every Gabor Mate video I can find. You have so much to add to the conversation, your questions and statements were amazing. I look forward to viewing more of your videos. Thank you again for being such a powerful voice that is a big part of helping with our individual and collective healing.
The problem is, it's a medical "system" Medicine was so much more natural (homeopathy for one) and the whole field was overtaken by big business (Rockefeller) and natural therapies were demonised. Gaborone Mate is a wonderful man and much appreciated
Thank you so much for this interview❤ I felt like my deceased mother led me to this video to hear what I needed to hear. Such a life saver. I'm also glad that Dr. Gabor and Dr. Lisa Rankin share the same beliefs. We need healers like them!
From the very start of this interview I am hearing nothing but a therapeutic session of the life of the interviewer to. Dr.Gabor Mate. In ten minutes I know nothing more than of this woman's whole life. So self obsessed not concerned with her own audience. Moving on .... Sorry to say I won't be back to her channel
Such an great opportunity for me to adhere to what I know to be useful to my holistic well being. Every toxic culture has to be re examined, starting with our food choices and stress levels. ❤❤❤ A million thanks is not enough. Blessings
I learned early not to express myself when I got angry and sad. Kept everything inside. Lived with my father who had mental illness. He fluctuated somewhat in his mood. One minute fantastic the next minute he became a monster and aggressive. Walked on eggshells. Because of his mood. Also became codependent and people pleaser. Became like an adult at the age of 7. But inside a child who taught me to never be able to express myself. So when I am involved in similar things, I become silent and freeze. Although I would have to bang my fist on the table and say stop. Never dared to open my mouth and be able to say stop and no. My mother is codependent and a people pleaser like me. Am a copy of my mother. My mother meets a new man when I am 9 years old. A covert controlling narc. My mother becomes a total robot. Who just gives and gives. Even I follow the same prediction. But I hit a rock bottom August 2021 .Became the turning point. But this is painfully hard work to break out of this pattern. Also to regain being able to say stop and no and get angry. Which is healthy. Gets angry inside but it doesn't show. Instead earlier I started please in the same second. But suffocated myself from inside. My mother has been doing that for 76 years. Me for 48 years. But never again. It's healthy to get angry. Unhealthy not to. It killed myself from the inside. Felt like living dead. Didn't get angry for nothing either. Except when it was totally crazy. Got my life back slowly .Get to know myself. Disappeared when I was 7 years old. Now it's my turn. Want to be involved in my own life.
Yeah!! I think we care what people are thinking about us because 1.our judgements usually don’t mix and match. And they have something to talk about and spread smearing campaigns behind our back 2. We afraid to say too much in order to avoid bad smearing campaigns and in many circumstances that might cause us a job. 3. Very often during our childhood we’ve been told “don’t say that””don’t tell her/him”and we keep carrying it over our adult life 4We afraid to be judged , because people who who stand out of the crowd usually don’t follow social savior vivre and being considered nuts, crazy, irrational, being on something etc. Retirement makes us judgement resistant and talking from the heart but not circumstances . I love it. I’m 71 and know how easy is to make some narcissistic money addicts CEO’s , very angry and powerless. I’m a avid listener of Dr. Gabor . He is truly authentic person , Speaks from a heart as well from his personal experience not from text books from medical school. Love all 3 of you. Hope some day our society turn around towards right direction and we get our humanity back on truck .
The main thing missing from this Is the truth about energetics and the earths healing ability. When the man with cancer moved to Greece and went out into the garden he was healed by Gaia. That’s the real healer.
I LOVE FINDING THIS INTERVIEW 🥰❣️🌟❣️I’ve been telling people since I discovered the emotional & health connection 30 years ago! I use Louise Hay’s book “ You Can Heal Your Life” I’ve had many experiences of being sick & being led to discover the emotional cause💜I feel So blessed to to be on this path & being awake💜🤠🎁💜
Many many thanks to DR.Gabor Mate, for inspiring these sorts of conversations between us as human beings in social connections and deep within ourselves in search of our own authenticity. I know for sure this is what I have really been looking for all my life, and now I have the language and the experiences to forge ahead with this journey because it is yielding results as nothing else has been able to! Many many Thanks,, Dr. Gabor Mate!!!. Your life, your work, your books, your courage, and your persistence are all truly amazing and enlightening--not only in the sense of knowledge, but literally lightening the burdens that have weighed us down for too long! . Heartfelt thanks...
Having listened to many of these conversations over time, I believe we need to be careful when generalizing: Yes, a flare up of an inflammatory condition maybe because of overextending ourselves to others. It may also be because we're trying to get along on our own in situations that are overwhelming. Not everyone is a good advocate for the self when stressed or injured just from being human. Also, consider reframing or reorienting to need to look after others as a way to fill up. Being of service can be a beautiful and healing experience when done in the right context; not to gain approval or even feel good, but to enable another to feel less alone and less pressure. This is how a sense of self worth and serenity ensues, by giving without expectation.
Maria this episode with Dr.Gabor Mate! I took notes too! Wow, so many parallels. Ibs, I'm a type 1 diabetic, I was the parent growing up. Maria, you are creating such a wonderful tribe here. I'm traveling with you to Greece. I am also Greek. Don't speak though. Evolution! Be your authentic self! 💖✨️🕉🙏💖✨️Love you Maria 💕 and Sending you blessings and love💖✨️🎉💃
My parents didn't accept me. I learned to be a codependant. I learned what I wanted didn't matter. I focused on everyone else. I was never validated as a child. I never developed my authetic self. I have trouble knowing what I want.
This was a FABULOUS interview Maria!! 👏 I love everything that you and your guests get to me! You guys are filled with so much knowledge and love ❤️ Absolutely amazing!
This is great! Thank you! So helpful to hear it expressed in a way that resonates with the truth inside of us - what he says makes sense. It's another God-given gift - thank You, Lord!
What does it really mean to experience your emotions and not suppress them when it comes to disappointment, sadness and longing over people who have died or left us? I get it with anger - don’t hold your anger in, but with grief, what can you do to let go of the sadness of missing someone? How do you not let that cause illness in your life?
It all makes sense. But what about when babies are sick and young children? They haven’t accumulated all the trauma to create the physical illness. Why do they get sick?
About caring about what other people think. I'm thinking we are programed in childhood to care for our survival, but as you speak about Community and connection. Isn't it also a factor in those connections? So, I understand that we have to connect with our authentic self. Listen to our body and acknowledge our feelings. Strengthen healthy boundaries. Pretty much a balance between all those factors. Trauma for doctors, absolutely! I'm a nurse and I'm telling you. It's crazy! From the start of education and later the schedules the lack of empathy from other colleges. Because it many times turns in to carnage. Not to mention the incredible expectations from everyone. It's not the only career that has such system, so I agree with Dr. Gabor.
Gabor presents this so clearly lovingly compassionately and intelligently. To go deeper than him and deeper than somatic work and deeper than most psychodrama and deeper than Richard Swartz requires inner child work. Which is best done both individually with a trained person perhaps w hypnotherapy and also with a group. 12 step model should provide this in group work but for the most part you have to find the right ppl yourself and they are a very small minority. And good luck trying to meet in person
I have intense anger sometimes and behind it is intense sadness and disappointment, frustration. My ex and I got too angry and gaslit each other, he drove me crazy only to say I was the crazy one. I wanted to text him a long time but there is no point I guess. I just want to let this anger go.
i had a horrible childhood... Father left, brother abused me - had a lot of responsibilities though not unusual in 80's for kids w divorce. .Me and my siblings now don't speak ;/
Wow! Thank you both for this interview. I v much wanna read this Dr Mate's book. The heads-up with how to effectively handle anger is so striking - immediate, when it arises, and boundary set, and let go: That makes so much sense, Sir! As a side note, that process so succintly expressed, as done in this interview, is a true sign of expertise! Thank you - 😊😊.
Unfortunately, we look to our medical professionals to guide us but I quit expecting that and I go to Naturopathic Doctor for my medical care and to my MD for tests and prescriptions. So I already pay out of pocket for my healthcare already. I rarely use the healthcare system yet my tax dollars are still paying for this broken system. Canada’s healthcare is good for trauma but not diseases. I healed my UC on my own with reading books and drug free for 30 years. I was told it was incurable by my MD. I told him, watch me.
Thank you for this interview it was very informative. I appreciate the publishing house that translated the book Lačni duhovi into Slovenian. An outstanding book. I hope to get that in the translation as well. Greetings from Slovenia .

Thank you.
So what is healthy anger? Going for a jog or swim or doing yoga? OR is it shouting & screaming, &/or telling someone to F off?
Saved my life.
how do you know its your true self when you find it ?
I know he has to cover himself by saying people should take medication...but most often..when people go down that route..they avoid the real healing and actually add further dis-ease and illness.
I think it the medication you decide to agree to try. So know the medication history before taking it
@@dianas1252 well, all medication is unecessary and toxic to the body...the only cause of disease and disorders is trauma..either from poor diet or unaddressed trauma/stress...medication may benefit short term..but never a long term solution.
Maria- can’t wait to read this book & re- watch this video!!
Congrats, so happy for you both❤
Dr. Gabor is awesome, I could listen to him all day
The problem is, it's a medical "system" Medicine was so much more natural (homeopathy for one) and the whole field was overtaken by big business (Rockefeller) and natural therapies were demonised. Gaborone Mate is a wonderful man and much appreciated
Thank you sooo much Maria for this extraordinary Interview 😊! I wish you all the best!❤
Thank you so much for this interview❤ I felt like my deceased mother led me to this video to hear what I needed to hear. Such a life saver. I'm also glad that Dr. Gabor and Dr. Lisa Rankin share the same beliefs. We need healers like them!
From the very start of this interview I am hearing nothing but a therapeutic session
of the life of the interviewer to.
A million thanks is not enough.
Want to be involved in my own life.
that was amazing!!!!THank you!!!
Yeah!! I think we care what people are thinking about us because
1.our judgements usually don’t mix and match. And they have something to talk about and spread smearing campaigns behind our back
2. We afraid to say too much in order to avoid bad smearing campaigns and in many circumstances that might cause us a job.
3. Very often during our childhood we’ve been told “don’t say that””don’t tell her/him”and we keep carrying it over our adult life
4We afraid to be judged , because people who who stand out of the crowd usually don’t follow social savior vivre and being considered nuts, crazy, irrational, being on something etc.
Thank you, I just got the connections. Every time I got stressed to the max, I got sick or pain
The main thing missing from this Is the truth about energetics and the earths healing ability. When the man with cancer moved to Greece and went out into the garden he was healed by Gaia. That’s the real healer.
Such a moving interview!!! Thank you!
Amazing interview!!!! WOW
Isn't he incredible?!
Omg I love that you have this platform. You are great. I love HIM. I learn so much and feel better
Such a great session! Thank you!
Thank you Maria Menounos and
Thanks to Gabor Mate for unique and meaningful talk
Gabor.
Dr Gabor Mate.... Yes 👏👏👏👏amazing interview. 💯🌹
Thank you for your show! ❤
Wow, what a great interview! Thank you!💕
Gabor presents this so clearly lovingly compassionately and intelligently.
How do I find/discover myself? I have no connection or trust in myself or what I really feel. Where do I start?
I have intense anger sometimes and behind it is intense sadness and disappointment, frustration. My ex and I got too angry and gaslit each other, he drove me crazy only to say I was the crazy one. I wanted to text him a long time but there is no point I guess. I just want to let this anger go.
I would give a like to this Video every day if I could! Thanks for sharing, it's changing lifes! Gods bless
i had a horrible childhood...
How to never process what can't be processed ❤
Unfortunately, we look to our medical professionals to guide us but I quit expecting that and I go to Naturopathic Doctor for my medical care and to my MD for tests and prescriptions. So I already pay out of pocket for my healthcare already. I rarely use the healthcare system yet my tax dollars are still paying for this broken system. Canada’s healthcare is good for trauma but not diseases.
I healed my UC on my own with reading books and drug free for 30 years. I was told it was incurable by my MD. I told him, watch me.
Thanks for your help.
Thank you for this interview it was very informative. I appreciate the publishing house that translated the book Lačni duhovi into Slovenian. An outstanding book. I hope to get that in the translation as well. Greetings from Slovenia .
I know these things others don't get it breaks my heart. Greece lifestyle sounds Great! ♡♡♡ Thank you❤
Tank you gabor for everything especially standing against genocide
Great talk!!
Kelsey come to Kentucky! 😉
Very interesting.I find he looks a little like Martin Short.
Yes indeed, an older version😏
