    I recently purchased a 2023 Nightster RH 975. LOVE this bike. Fully adjustable rear suspension, plenty of torque and head turning style.

    Love the way my new Nightster runs and handles. Miss the throaty rumble of my 48 special. I think Harley will regret losing the notorious sound.

    Wow, Tripp, nice production and editing. A little more work to produce a video. And I liked the ride and checking out a new smaller Harley. A great video to watch . Thanks for a great test drive, fun to watch your shows on our channel. Keep it up. An announcement of any any fun runs or adventures with you would be a fun get away and take a break. I'm sorry to say I am struggling with the death of my beloved Doberman. He's not in pain but going downhill for a good week. So hard this one. I've had three other dogs on my life but why is this dog causing me more heartbreak than anything else in my past. My real parents died when I was nine. My other parents have passed away with my best friend my mom. This only dog has affected me more than any other death I have had to deal with. So hard as we grow older and our family and friends are dieing all around us. As we complicate our our mortality. Life can have so many joyful things with love at it core. But it seems like all we see is heartache an pain. Please those of you who have faith any prayers for me would be a Godsend to my comfort. I have no friends or family close to me, moved to help my step mom ( dads sister) thru surgeries fixed up her house that sold one week after open heat and helped her find a assistance living and move to get her to her next phase. Loved her so much. And This Doberman has me mentally unfrenged at his àgeing. Less than a month I predict. So for the last few weeks of noticing his failing. Prayers mean alot to me. God listens and I believe animals have little soals b that our God has given us unconditional love. Having a hard time Trip. I'm crying like a brainwashed by woke professors t offended at everything. Nice work put into the video. Sorry to ramble on but I'm alone in this world and it helps to let it out.

    Great video, Tripp! I went to my local dealer yesterday and test rode the Nightster! The immediate best part of this bike is the motor and the unbelievable 9,500 redline! The bike pulls like a freight train all the way redline. My dealer’s test ride route is horrible and only includes the feeder road and side streets, but with the proper technique, I was still able to have some fun. The handlebars and mid mount controls are horrible for anyone over 5’ 10”. The price is too high for a bike that would require at least $1,500 in accessories between the 2-up seat, sissy bar, and handlebars and windshield. No matter what type of bike I ride, I have to outfit it for 2 people because that is what motorcycling and enjoying the road is all about. My .02! Ride safe!

      @Steve Malzone The way I was taught and the lessons passed down to me was that all motorcycles were meant for 2-up riding. All these solo seat bikes that are coming out are silly. Everyone has their own opinion. Not knocking the bike, just knocking the industry for making us pay for things that should be included from the factory.

    I was looking for a bike to ride to work a couple of days a week that was lighter then my bagger. Didn't know anything about the Nightster but my local dealer received their first delivery of the bike when I happened to be in the dealership. Great looking bike. It was light and definitely sportier. Totally different experience from ridding a bagger. On the bagger I'm just cruising around town and definitely the bike for longer trips. The black Nightster I bought is more about around town riding with some speed and looking for some curves to carve. Great looking bike that could be priced more competitively but the shortage of supply is going to keep you at MSRP when buying one.

    Just rode one during the Demo Day at a local HD dealer. Totally new to the HD 'market' (I'm a new rider; my first and only bike I have ridden is a Kawasaki Vulcan S). Wanted to like both the Nighster and the Sporster S. Sadly, neither appealed to me after a short (15 min) ride. I'm a taller guy and the mid-controls did not work at all for me on this bike, plus the fake air cover was hitting my leg. And for the record, after trying some 'old school' Harley models (Street Bob, Fat Bob, and Fat Boy) I did come away impressed, especially when compared to the Vulcan S. Great video and review!

    It looks like a great bike and a lot of fun to ride. I think it is a big win for Harley. However I can't help but to feel bummed that this is the beginning of the end for the air cooled V-twin. Nothing will ever replaced the sound and feel of a V-twin. Us old school Harley guys get it, but I also understand you can't stop progress. Kind of bitter sweet I guess. Great review Tripp!

      The M8 Softails have oil coolers and the M8 touring bikes have hidden twin radiators already, the sound and feel of a Harley comes from the 45° Vtwins with a strangely unbalanced firing order. They always have.. The way the bike is cooled does not have an effect on the sound of the motor 👀 The Nightster sounds different because its a 60° vtwin with an even firing order 👀

    • @geraldscott4302
      @geraldscott4302 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Unless you have several already, I strongly suggest looking for decent used ones. I suspect the price is about to double on REAL Sportsters and pre M8 full size bikes. The Japanese have been accused of copying Harley for decades, they tried to copy the look, but they never copied the sound and feel. Now H-D has built a virtual clone of a Japanese bike. If you don't want the sound and feel of a Harley, then I suggest buying Japanese. The H-D name no longer means anything. They don't build Harleys anymore. BTW, "progress" can go both ways, and H-D definitely went the WRONG way with this POS.

    Lovely looking bike but in the UK we are looking at £12K, I would like a rear seat and footpegs, so near £13K, there are cheaper options out there, I wish HD well but I cannot see the value compared to a Triumph Speedmaster or Honda Rebel 1100. Great review thank you.

  • @LARGO125
    @LARGO125 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    I've mentioned this on other reviews, the problem HD is gonna have with this bike is the price tag. HD is going to have to try and Market this bike to the cross shopping crowd. And unfortunately it's 3-4k more expensive than the Rebel 1100. And the Rebel offers same power, same weight, plus cruise control, optional dct for limited mobility riders, and a proven Honda reliable engine. And for those still wanting a little "Americana" the Scout is still cheaper, and is more of a traditional cruiser. HD will have to hope the Harley faithful embrace this machine, or its going to fail.

    • @altortugas5979
      @altortugas5979 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Honestly, though, this is what the Sportster should be about. Unless you are talking mid-engine super cars, it’s go more stock power than pretty much any sports car. It’s light, nimble, fast and fun, sounds like a Sportster to me!
      Let the old farts keep their farty old baggers. It’s ok if the Sportster line is not gif them. Hell, they always referred to them as “girl bikes” anyway. I don’t know why anyone pays attention to the legacy crowd. They hated the Sportster before, they hate it now, the only difference is that now the Sportster is actually a good bike that more people will want to buy.

    Im a Softail diehard. Always will be. But this is a serious good move for Harley. The bikes it competes against. Higher end metric cruisers and the scout. Honestly the scouts the only one that truly competes with it. Comes down to the individual there. The nighter has those sweet classic Harley lines still. That sportster front wheel looks so nice. The scout has those goofy geezer lines going for it. If that's ur thing. Good liking bike though. Only decent looking Indian bike to me.

They better be looking to younger buyers and I think the technology it offers is one step in that direction My issue with the bike is the price. There are other bikes that offer more for less money. If H-D wants to live, they need lower cost bikes. This one should be $3000-$4000 cheaper. Am I going to buy one? Well, I still like my 2007 Sportster 1200 and plan to hang onto it.

    I think Harley has found themselves in an interesting predicament... There's a lot of comments stating "it's progress"... But is that really what Harley's core customer cares about? They are literally walking away from the 1 thing they've become desirable for. There are other brands still making air cooled bikes and there are other brands making water-cooled bikes with a bit more subtlety, i.e. free of large nasty radiators that kill the bikes lines and simplicity... coughTRIUMPHcough... I like the stock bars but would add some pull back risers. Like the exhaust design but in no way is that stock muffler gonna cut it either a heavy modification on the stock or complete replacement. Horn, no. Mamma needs accommodations and I would prefer stainless spoked wheels with black hubs and rims. I’m sure the aftermarket for this will be fat in no time. If they don’t appeal to a different generation AND keep enough of traditional bikes around your sales stagnate. That’s bad news for everyone who likes Harley’s. Forcing the companies hand by stagnating development to appease traditionalists is just bad business all around for anyone. Simple solution if you don’t like it don’t buy it and get an air cooled cruiser they still have plenty of. It’s the same noise everyone made when Ducati changed the monster to have the engine be part of the whole making it a stressed member and eliminating the traditional trellis frame. Despite protest’s they continue to sell the hell out of them and having ridden one the handling was greatly improved. This I can’t wait to test ride and there’s a strong possibility I’ll get one.
