Can you do an ironclad a20 card review? I know it all depends, but an overview of most possibilities and synergies for every card could be a very nice and popular video.
If I understood you right, you said it's good to draw cards even if you don't have the energy to play them. I don't see how that helps - doesn't it just mean you won't have the option to play that card if it makes sense the next round? Thanks!
@@Travoid Like everything in this game, it depends. Ideally, you're using draw cards in the beginning of your turn to get to other things you want to play that turn (when you still have the energy to) Generally, drawing at the end of your turn is pretty fail, but if you look at your draw pile and see a bunch of garbage you just want to get past to get to your shuffle, then yeah you might want to even if you don't have energy left. My main point is that draw is an extremely powerful (maybe the most powerful) mechanic in this game and it's importance should not be understated. It has a variety of uses and when to utilize it will always depend run to run and turn to turn.
My favourite character is The silent. Despite the fact that I have the least wins on her (The watcher aside), I love to see the enemy health bar green and ending my turn early as an "omae wa mou shindeiru".
I don’t ever go for poison with her I prefer to focus on discard energy buffs (sneaky strike helps a lot for me) and getting as much attacks in in one turn as possible
Installed this last night and played about 5 minutes and was baffled by the hype this game has received. Two hours later I discovered exactly why it was so highly rated. Awesome game and beautiful on my Steam Deck.
It's funny that my first experience was the exact opposite. I knew nothing about this game except that it had deck building, then i sat down to play for a little, and next thing I knew, two hours had passed.
This might be the best tips guide I have ever seen for a new game I have tried out. Coming from a 25 year MTG background I am pretty confident this guide was a "who is the beatdown" caliber of content. VERY WELL DONE sir. You should be proud of this guide because you probably leveled up non card players trying this game out for their first time several times over.
Definitely helps having learned MTG. Once I realised how hard it was to remove cards from your deck I did it at every opportunity. Just like in Magic a smaller deck is higher power.
So glad I found this channel. I've played this game for a total of over 100 hours. 92 runs, with only 1 "victory". The victory came from a custom run where I basically gave myself as much advantage as possible. On average, I typically only make it to about halfway through the 2nd act, or die early on in Act 3. Only a few weeks ago I realized that you shouldn't take every single card reward. My decks would end up so bloated and the really good cards were rarely drawn during fights. The main thing I learned from this video is to not avoid the elite fights, and to be better at balancing regular fights with mystery rooms. Up until now, I basically avoided elites as much as possible, and if I were given a choice between a fight or a mystery room, I'd always hit that question mark hoping for a relic.
After playing for an hour today I decided to watch a video for beginners, right after finishing it I got a sick win with a very thought out block build. It was a blast to blaze through the Spire without a scratch. Very informative video.
I just finished my first ever run last night, got all the way to mid act 3. This morning I looked up some tips to see how I did and am looking forward to trying again later today, hopefully I win to.
As a Slay the Spire player who already spent more than 300 hours on different platforms on the game I can say that your guide was still very helpfull for me. On the one hand it is nice to know that most of my decissions in the game are somehow in line with your tips on the other hand the "practice things which you dont like" tip is something which I have to apply more in my playthroughs. After a period of time you just stick with the same 2-3 stratetgies. Which is dangerous and hinders you to climb up on ascension ranks. Well done!
My favorite character is probably Ironclad. When I first started, the idea of "Exhaust" was scary on card like Corruption or True Grit. I changed my mind once I realized how insane exhaust synergies are. Currently working my way up ascension, and am at ascension 6 on Ironclad.
These are some good tips. You say in the pinned comment to give tips that we think you missed. I think that there are some higher level ideas that can earn small advantages that can turn a loss into a win. The first is that there are some relics such as nunchaku, ink bottle, and happy flower which will keep a counter between fights. It is generally good practice to set these up at the end of the fight when you can be a little more flexible with your card choices so that you can get their effects on the first turn (arguably the most important turn) of the next fight. Additionally, another concept that helped me was paying attention to when I used my draw cards. If you have 1 card in your draw pile, and you play a draw 2 card, this means that everything in your discard pile will go back into your draw pile. This means that all the cards in your hand are not getting shuffled into your deck meaning you will have to go all the way through your deck again in order to see it. For this reason, if you are in this situation and have a strong card that you want to play as often as possible, you should probably play it before the draw card.
"Practice Things You Don't Like". So true. Even perfect builds in our comfort zone can end in tears, lol, but if we had just experimented with a few different tricks instead of passing up on them, they would have made all the difference. I love doing learning runs where I practice using different things and I'm usually stunned what I've been missing out on. Great video!
Fantastically insightful guide, presented engagingly and concisely, + the edited footage to provide illustrations of the concepts as well as visual stimulation - thank you so much for taking the time to make this for us to consume for free!
Yet another person who got this for ps+ and I swear your videos are the only things that actually make the game make since. I know you haven't posted recently but still you gained a sub and than you for being great lol. Going to watch this now and hope that one day I get good at using the orb homie.
Gotta say great video! I’ve been struggling to win with The Defect for a while, but once I watched this and changed my mindset about elites and boss prep, I won first try, and I had the most relics in any run I’ve done so far! So thanks for the help!
Wow, I’m extremely surprised that you only have 339 subs. Such a well made video with good advice definitely deserves more! I just started playing the game and you have certainly supplied a great resource to players like me. Keep it up!
As I clicked on this video I was dubious that it would approach StS in any meaningful way. I was pleasantly surprised! More than teach me anything it reaffirmed what I already knew, but it's a great video for a lot of people who don't play A20. Good job, dude.
Okay I know this is an old video but as much as I love this game since I bought it, I could NOT get to the 3rd boss! I would always get my ass kicked halfway through Act 3. I really really want to open the watcher and after playing like (I think at almost 100 omg) runs and FINALLY getting to the 3rd Act Boss...The Ancient One destroyed me. So I finally said screw it and went online for help because I was obviously doing something wrong. My deck is definitely bloated (I'm so bad about picking up ALL the extra cards), I avoid Elites like the plague and I definitely never thought to get rid of strikes and block cards! You're video was super easy to watch, and I appreciate all the tips! I'm gonna try another run now and see how I can make my synergy better! Thanks a bunch =^^=
Picked this game up for free on PS Plus and I didn’t think I’d like it but ended up really enjoying it and fully completing a run my first try! Made it to the final boss of the second run but got promptly shut down due to my lack of protection. Definitely pumped for more and finding this guide is only helping me get more pumped!
Watched this video earlier today, and then played the game in the evening and beat the heart for the first time using a snecko eye build, so thanks for teaching me that it’s a good relic
I watched this earlier, then literally won the next attempt for the first time. Starting with a boss item instead of the normal one + not picking a card every time were the key to success
Nice video man! It’s free on ps plus now and I enjoy it but needed some help lol! Btw nice beard but you distracted me with touching it every time there was a facecam 😂 also, you have the perfect voice to make videos, relaxing
Yeah, i didn't realize how much beard stuff was going on until everything was cut together lol; just helps me think through things. Thanks for the compliments and I'm glad the videos helped! Good luck in the Spire, and congrats on the future Heart kill!
I feel like all these "is x card good?" questions (which I asked my fair share too) are like asking "is Qe4 a good move?" in chess. It all depends on the position (however, it's such a central square that _in general_ it's likely not a good early game move)
Not really a card gamer at all but I decided to try this game as it was recommended by a few friends. Tried it on my own and enjoy it quite a bit, but could only get past the second boss. This video just taught me a lot and I'm excited to jump back in, experiment, and get better! VERY well done video my good sir. Thank you.
Glad to hear you've been improving! It's super nice to see your work in anything pay off and it's no different here in this game. Hope you're well also :)
I've played it a few times. The characters get more complex as they keep making them. Ironclad is real simple. Build up attack power and/or block, and just fight until you win. After that it gets a little trickier, and a little trickier, until you get to the Watcher, and people are still trying to figure her out.
Amazing video! Super helpful tips. I was kinda avoiding elites but it makes so much sense not to do that. I'm new to the game, 20 hours in. My favourite class right now is defect, it just clicked in my brain right away; I got through a run on my second try! Also, I like the idea of him having malfunctions that actually make him better, that's how I feel a lot of the time too.
DEFINITELY start taking those elites in the future and watch you gain power as you go! Grats on that Defect run! I really want to dig into the recent changes to Defect on the Beta branch more myself.
Definitely NOT self-explanatory! The basic mechanics are easy enough to understand, but all the intricacies of them take a lot of experience to foresee and account for over the course of any battle.
In my first 2 runs playing the game, I died to the Act 1 boss. After watching this video, I beat Act 3 twice in a row in my next two runs. (Skipping cards and pathing through elites helped the most.) Thank you so much!
I love how you organized this video and the way you layed out your thoughts. I will definitely take those tips with me into the spire! My favorite character is The Defect because I like the flexibility and elemental themes with the orbs. I'm no where near your hours of play into the game but I've been enjoying myself since I bought it :)
Bruh... Watched this video for 10 mins, then started a Spire run and had my BEST RUN EVER. First time ever beating the third city, had hecka health and hecka hecka relics. I'm so happy right now.
Just started playing this game and loving it! Great videos you got amazing information and helpful tips. Hope you are still playing and plan to make videos for the second game. :)
I’m very late to the party here I feel but just started playing yesterday. Really enjoying the game and looking forward to getting better at it. Guide has definitely opened my eyes on certain areas especially in regards to skipping card pickups. I always end up with crazy high decks and don’t get the synergy with the deck. Great video.
This was an awesome video… It’s funny how before I started watching the video, I was adding any cards I came across… After I finished watching this, I was like damn I was doing it ALL wrong lol.
It's not something everyone considers for sure. There are a lot of totally-not-obvious things that make this game a lot easier to succeed at in future runs. Good luck in the Spire!
Been scrounging around the internet for different tips on the game because I've been stuck at Ascension 9 Ironclad for months. It feels strange that the little difference from A8 to A9 has put such a damper on my progress, but it's my reality. Thanks for the tips, and I think the most helpful one for me is to stop trying to play the long game. I got through A0-A8 on synergy alone but thanks to this guide I understand the importance of focusing on the immediate problems.
It's true what he said about switching your starting relic. I tried to play this way, and I got considerably better results in my 3 latest runs, where my 3rd ended up to my first victory. Thanks for the tip!
Great video! I really enjoyed it and I will definitely be using a lot of your tips. I just had an amazing curse/status build with the ironclad so that's who I'm liking at the moment lol. That run was so fun because you wouldn't think a deck full of curses and wounds would be powerful but it was!
@@InaBeta thanks for the reply! I binged all of the videos on your channel last night and I will definitely be trying to tune into your streams. I've been feeling like I need a skilled player to get tips from because I'm still stuck in the lower ascension tiers and I really like the way you explain your runs so I think you're perfect!
I found I loved the silent with its fun poison plays and all the stabby stabby Shivs! This game took a little while to earn my love but now with my first encounter with the 4th act I hope to challenge myself more often!
@@InaBeta I actually just got it last night with this insane ironclad run. I don't remember what I had but I was constantly drawing and exhausting cards and I had the pyramid that makes my hand stay! I've never seen that many cards be in my deck at once!!! Winning that run reminded me why I love roguelikes so much! I felt so so accomplished
Thanks for making this. After watching this and your video on The Silent, I was able to finally get to the end for the first time. Before I struggled to even beat the Act 2 boss.
This video was great--always nice to see fellow spire addicts lol It's difficult to say who my favorite class is, but I would probably have to say ironclad--i feel like he has the most varied scaling packages at A20H (exhaust, strength, block). The other classes can often feel a bit more similar in terms of card evaluations later on in the game; I almost always want a catalyst/echo form/talk to the hand in act 3, but with ironclad i cant think of too many scaling cards i would almost always take in act 3
great video thank you, helped a lot. had to have some discipline and not walk away from the video and start a run, but i waited until the end! and now going to dive in.... thanks again
Thanks man, i watched this video and the next time i played i was able to finish the game for the first time lol. Elite enemies are such a game changer, i went from 10 relics per run to almost a row and a half by the end. Also the lore from the finale made me want to play more to see the rest thanks
Just wanted to say thank you for this vid! I had gotten so frustrated with all my previous runs but after watching this vid I won for the first time with the silent! Having a ton of poison, shield, and draw cards saved my ass!
I love the Silent's jack-of-all-trades playstyle! I feel like she is one of the more strategic classes with all the different ways you can tackle your enemies. And she also has the most fun cards, like the poison ones and, of course, Bullet Time!
Thank you for this guide. I’m new to StS, and only have a few runs under my belt. I am an old MtG player though, so I was already drawn towards deck synergy and card draw, and I’m pleased to say I beat my first climb. However, I’ve been actively avoiding elites and avoiding strategies I’m not comfortable with, so I’ll be trying these out next
Glad to hear about that first success! Getting in there and getting familiar with more strategies just opens up your pathways to success in future runs!
The Ironclad has always been my favorite; thematically I feel it really fits with my aesthetic and my "preferred" play style as much as that can apply. This video is super well put together and the transitions are just *chefs kiss* Super great job sir!
Dude, i swear, i followed your tips specially about getting a random boss relic at start. I got the one where 2 wounds are shuffled in my deck. Disappointed at first but i snowballed in getting a lot of relics. Now I got past ascension 1. All that happened on the first game i played after watching this video, after being a total noob unable to defeat ascension 1. Ironclad was just randomly dishing cards not even in my deck 😂 thank you, and subscribed.
@@fisheatsyourhead Yep, you've stumbled onto some of the best scaling in the game: energy and card draw! It works for every character and in every deck.
@@InaBeta I had one run (the first one I won and only so far I’m new at this game) where I had a lot of capacitors and some serious power scaling with ai that I had like 12 orb slots or something crazy. Best run I’ve ever had and right now I’m working to get better with iron clad
@@draketrench9089 You saw the power of scaling for sure! That is key to any deck as you get through the acta (all 4 of them eventually). Here's to all you future wins
I love your comments on runic dome. Runic dome plus spot weakness is super rewarding for players that know enemy actions, and offers the ability to trade energy for information for players that don't. Idk if it's an amazing strat but its extremely fun!
It's definitely a strat! Even higher level players can benefit from Spot while using Runic Dome as it's not always guaranteed that enemies are attacking. And if you find they are, you also get some bonus strength to use when you're done trying not to die that turn!
The silent is usually my go to. I like how all of it's archetypes work fairly well in conjunction so you can be a bit flexible to tying to figure out what your deck is going to be. Also lots of draw if you want it
This is the first video i've watched about STS after playing dozens of game and reaching the heart mostly with ironclad and never beating it. Might be needing more streamlined guide cause i think ironclad is much harder to beat the heart with, but extremely pleased to see that this generalized guide is still useful. Weird that i immediately recognize that slim deck are better than bloated deck in Inscryption but not here somehow. Gud vid!
10:08 the thing about this necco eye seems especially true for the defect class. A lot of their more powerful cards go beyond three cost, and the cost randomization effect only goes from 0 to 3, not any higher.
Beautiful video and wonderful guide. Love your approach to the game and all the advice. Even found a nugget or two that I'm going to try on my next play session. As for my preference, my favorite class is the Defect because orbs and powers are so much fun!!! Although i do much better with the good old Ironclad. Then again, a good poison deck... man... do I have to choose one???
Just started playing and got a win as my first time playing as the Rogue/Shaman class that gets extra cards. As a previous hearthstone long time player, this game is perfection. And so is this guide.
One of the things I've found extremely useful is keeping an eye out for "Aces." Since you know from the beginning of the Act which boss you'll be facing, if you run across a card that specifically counters that boss, it's often worth picking up. Cards like Fire Breathing for the Hexaghost, or Judgment+ vs the Collector.
Yep, this is a common strategy of more advanced players and dovetails with the advice of "add answers to your deck"; know what you could face in any act and add in things that will help you with those challenges.
About to boot up for the third day now, having won my 4th run, with the first guy, and yes, I said what the heck try the relic swap, and got the one that randomizes costs and draws two extra, and hoo boy! That was a ride! So yes, years after you posted the video, but just commenting to say sounds like great advice, only thing so far I suspected but only half-heartedly accepted is that elite fights are good for me. Also only thing not mentioned, I wasn't using potions at all my first few runs. Doesn't feel great discarding them when they could have been helpful.
Ironclad for me, love big swords. Always picking the fighter classes in TTRPG and I love medieval combat irl (So im one of those annoying people who complain about martial classes being too vanilla while still picking them). Not to mention, I feel IC has the most satisfying SFX.
Ina, obviously green gal best gal don't @ me j/s it's not up for debate kk thx glad we agree. lmao. Nice guide my friend. Especially love the nod toward boss swaps that I may or may not have peer pressured you to doing a little bit kind of. hahahaha
A really well made video and a good guide to boot. Even with all I've figured out for myself, there was still an important tip for me: experiment with what makes you uncomfortable. And for me that is definitely Runic Dome.
I struggled to beat my first run for many many tries. After watching this video I literally made it in my first try. I made choices I would normally never have made (such as the Snecko Eye, which randomizes any chance of winning in my eyes) and got cards that let me draw more cards. It seems I suck at strategy games. Anyway, thanks for this video, it helped me a lot
Hey, you stumbled across some powerful synergies! Also, more card draw (especially innate as with Snecko Eye) is powerful for just about any deck. Snecko definitely doesn't randomize your chance of winning, just the cost of cards. In return, you get innate card draw and the ability to grab all the impactful, high cost cards you want without worrying nearly as much about energy (you still want more energy, but you care a lot less about a deck full of 3 cost cards as they will often cost less than that when drawn). Anyways, I hope you saw the power of these mechanics in play and can apply them to future runs! Additionally, don't beat yourself up; this is a really complex, difficult game to begin with and everyone struggles with it at times (yes, even the best of the best players). Keep at it, and good luck in The Spire!
@@InaBeta You are definitely right. Man I wish there was a good guide out there for The Ironclad (wink wink). I finished with The Defect which was surprisingly easy after taking a closer look at the setup and I think that with The Silent it won't be too hard either once you get your poison set up right. I just can't make sense of Ironclad and I tried many things already
@@Twisterstorm1 I wish there would be too, but unfortunately I've moved on from making content. Try all the tools in his kit (e.g., exhaust, str gain, big block, life drain, etc.) and keep at him and you'll get that W with Chad.
@@InaBeta Dang shame cause I find the videos you made easily understandable. But hey, if you wanna do something else, I can't force you to make guides :P
@@Twisterstorm1Thanks for understanding! I wish I had gotten on making these sooner in my streaming stent, but ah well. I'm glad these have helped you and so many others.
Thanks for the video! I just bought the game the other day after looking into it and your video increased my game knowledge incredibly. I’m looking forward to watching your videos more often.
I completed my first, completely blind about this game, and I defeated the spire with 1 hp left! My firsy deck was centered on Rage spells, many low cost attacks, juggernaut, and body slams. Just spamming attacks and racking up shields. What a great game and I can't wait for my second run after watching those tips.
The difference is that Yu-Gi-Oh doesn't force you to discard your hand every turn. In this game, without the "retain" ability, you will actually draw more cards than you can use and end up discarding cards that you really needed on the next turn. Now, you have to wait several turns potentially to redraw it. There are exceptions, but the general rule in Spire is that too much draw= inactivity.
Coffee Dripper on Chad is fantastic with his variety of ways to heal besides rest sites. Good on you for tryin something new and grats on your first victory!

My favorite is Defect. The stacks you can build up are amazing, but trying to do the math before you execute can be tricky sometimes.
I absolutely love the Defect when it works out. Can't wait to try out the Reprogram rework!
This was a great guide, helped me realize how bloated I was letting my deck get. Liked the vid
Glad you enjoyed it and that it helped! Here's to many Heart kills in the future!

My favorite character is probably Ironclad. When I first started, the idea of "Exhaust" was scary on card like Corruption or True Grit. I changed my mind once I realized how insane exhaust synergies are. Currently working my way up ascension, and am at ascension 6 on Ironclad.
Exhaust synergy is REAL! My fave is block synergy, but that's harder to get together consistently.
He's a paladin, he's a dark knight, he's Ironclad!
I literally just beat the game like half an hour ago for the first time using an exhaust deck.
Even without synergy, an upgraded True Grit is good in every deck. Get rid of negative cards like Burn and slim your deck in long fights.
Fiend Fire my beloved
I knew about the first point you mentioned but the second one had never occurred to me. Thank you
"Practice Things You Don't Like". So true. Even perfect builds in our comfort zone can end in tears, lol, but if we had just experimented with a few different tricks instead of passing up on them, they would have made all the difference. I love doing learning runs where I practice using different things and I'm usually stunned what I've been missing out on. Great video!
Well said and thank you! Glad you're enjoying the game and good luck in The Spire!
Fantastically insightful guide, presented engagingly and concisely, + the edited footage to provide illustrations of the concepts as well as visual stimulation - thank you so much for taking the time to make this for us to consume for free!
Thanks for watching and enjoying! I definitely had fun making this and all the footage used in the video.
DO NOT take a shot every time Beta strokes his beard. *wizard thinking*
Looks like enemy intent is... alcohol poisoning? Weird....
Yet another person who got this for ps+ and I swear your videos are the only things that actually make the game make since. I know you haven't posted recently but still you gained a sub and than you for being great lol. Going to watch this now and hope that one day I get good at using the orb homie.
You and Defect will live happily ever after at the top of the Spire soon, my man!
@@InaBeta I legit just cleared my first run with the Chad bro using these tips. Now I'm determined to do it with the defect
@@scubasteve5326 Hell yeah you did! Here's to the next one and the Heart eventually!
My favorite is Ironclad. Great sustain and you can build an effective deck with him in so many different ways.
Tanking damage and going right back to full with a well-placed Reaper is just so satisfying...
Gotta say great video! I’ve been struggling to win with The Defect for a while, but once I watched this and changed my mindset about elites and boss prep, I won first try, and I had the most relics in any run I’ve done so far! So thanks for the help!
Glad it helped and thanks for watching. Good luck in the Spire!
Wow, I’m extremely surprised that you only have 339 subs. Such a well made video with good advice definitely deserves more! I just started playing the game and you have certainly supplied a great resource to players like me. Keep it up!
It's a pretty new channel, so yeah. We've grown a lot in the last couple months though!
As I clicked on this video I was dubious that it would approach StS in any meaningful way. I was pleasantly surprised! More than teach me anything it reaffirmed what I already knew, but it's a great video for a lot of people who don't play A20. Good job, dude.
Glad it was up to your standards :)
Hope ya got there; would love to hear back!
GET IT! Early congrats on your first Heart Kill!
Watched this video earlier today, and then played the game in the evening and beat the heart for the first time using a snecko eye build, so thanks for teaching me that it’s a good relic
I'm glad you tried it and had some success! Here's to your future Heart kills!
I watched this earlier, then literally won the next attempt for the first time. Starting with a boss item instead of the normal one + not picking a card every time were the key to success
I love that the card art for Rampage here is a ram and a page :D
Some of the beta arts are solid gold.
Exactly why I discourage that line of thinking; it simply isn't asking the right questions or promoting the right mindset to improve at this.
Thank you, picked this up a few days ago. Just your intro alone about adopting the appropriate mindset is some of the best advice I've heard!
Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed and I hope it helps! I hope both your paly and your enjoyment of this wonderful game improve. Good luck in The Spire!
Super helpful video. I've been improving and coming back to this a lot for refreshers. Hope you are well!
I always thought that this game was more self explanatory and just took some thinking but this video helped more than I thought even two years later.
Glad to have helped you and so many others! Good luck in The Spire!
I love how you organized this video and the way you layed out your thoughts. I will definitely take those tips with me into the spire! My favorite character is The Defect because I like the flexibility and elemental themes with the orbs. I'm no where near your hours of play into the game but I've been enjoying myself since I bought it :)
Heck yes! Glad you're enjoying it so much so far!
Been waiting to get my first victory before watching your video, and finally just got it with a silent shiv build. Felt good
Bruh... Watched this video for 10 mins, then started a Spire run and had my BEST RUN EVER. First time ever beating the third city, had hecka health and hecka hecka relics. I'm so happy right now.
Here's to many more, brosef! Congrats on that first win!
Just started playing this game and loving it! Great videos you got amazing information and helpful tips. Hope you are still playing and plan to make videos for the second game. :)
Glad you enjoyed it! I don't plan on making anymore videos at this time, unfortunately.
Thanks and I hope you keep enjoying the game! Good luck in the Spire!
This has been really helpful. Trying to get to stage 4. Loads of great stuff here. Lots of nuance. Great job buddy! Definitely subscribing.
Glad you enjoyed and good luck in The Spire!
Funny how I didn't manage to finish a single run before watching this and I just got 2 finished on Silent back to back. TY!
NICE! Congratulations and here's to many more!
@@InaBeta thanks man. I’m looking forward to playing again. I started playing yesterday & I have to say that it’s addicting lol 😂

Incredible guide! I appreciate the hard work you put into it. Hope to see more!
There will be eventually!
This was a splendid guide for a new player like me, and this game is so mutch fun i played 2 days straight after i got it :D
Thanks for watching and glad that it helped you! Any favorites in the game yet?
It's true what he said about switching your starting relic. I tried to play this way, and I got considerably better results in my 3 latest runs, where my 3rd ended up to my first victory. Thanks for the tip!
Glad to help; good luck in the Spire!
Great video! I really enjoyed it and I will definitely be using a lot of your tips.
I just had an amazing curse/status build with the ironclad so that's who I'm liking at the moment lol. That run was so fun because you wouldn't think a deck full of curses and wounds would be powerful but it was!
Love it when that kind of fringe build works out!
@@kristen6893 We can't wait to see you there, you're gonna love our community
I found I loved the silent with its fun poison plays and all the stabby stabby Shivs! This game took a little while to earn my love but now with my first encounter with the 4th act I hope to challenge myself more often!
Heck yes! The Spire challenges us all every run. Here's to your pending first Heart kill!
@@baileybb4 Yeah, draw and exhaust synergy stuff on Chad is super fun when it comes together! Here's to the next one then!
Thanks for making this. After watching this and your video on The Silent, I was able to finally get to the end for the first time. Before I struggled to even beat the Act 2 boss.
So glad you found that first success! Many more to come, I'm sure! Glad you enjoyed and benefitted.
I did not think this video would be as useful as it is! Excited to play my next run with these tips in mind
Get that gucci heart kill, yo!
This video was great--always nice to see fellow spire addicts lol
It's difficult to say who my favorite class is, but I would probably have to say ironclad--i feel like he has the most varied scaling packages at A20H (exhaust, strength, block). The other classes can often feel a bit more similar in terms of card evaluations later on in the game; I almost always want a catalyst/echo form/talk to the hand in act 3, but with ironclad i cant think of too many scaling cards i would almost always take in act 3
Spire addict indeed! Can't get enough of this wonderful game!
great video thank you, helped a lot. had to have some discipline and not walk away from the video and start a run, but i waited until the end! and now going to dive in.... thanks again
Hope it helps you get that next Spire win!
Amazing, just what I was looking for, great work! keep it up :)
Glad you enjoyed!
Thanks man, i watched this video and the next time i played i was able to finish the game for the first time lol. Elite enemies are such a game changer, i went from 10 relics per run to almost a row and a half by the end. Also the lore from the finale made me want to play more to see the rest thanks
Hell yeah! Congrats and good luck all the way up to A20 Heart!
I have always liked the defect as it gets super fun once you start playing alot of the power cards.
Power spam can be super fun, especially if you dodge the Awakened One!
Just wanted to say thank you for this vid! I had gotten so frustrated with all my previous runs but after watching this vid I won for the first time with the silent! Having a ton of poison, shield, and draw cards saved my ass!
Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed and congrats!
I love the Silent's jack-of-all-trades playstyle! I feel like she is one of the more strategic classes with all the different ways you can tackle your enemies. And she also has the most fun cards, like the poison ones and, of course, Bullet Time!
Bullet Time is one of my favorite cards to use with my favorite class!
Chad verified much fire giant, very SMOrc. Thanks for the compliments!
Just started playing this the other week. I was taking the boss relic swap from day one!
It usually works really well, yeah! The Tiny House moments though :/
Congrats on that first win; here's to many more! Glad the guide helped you and good luck in The Spire!
I'm just realizing my first ever run in this game was with runic dome and I beat act 3 first try and haven't won since lol
Congrats!
I just bought the game and managed to do it on first try by getting a fuckton of channel lighting sinergy
I have 4 wins and 3 of them have ice cream plus other energy runes lol
@@fisheatsyourhead Yep, you've stumbled onto some of the best scaling in the game: energy and card draw! It works for every character and in every deck.
I love the defect for lightning and electrodynamics! Also are those pins in a merch website or something?
Lightning scaling is indeed super fun if you can get it going. The pins were from FanGamer.
@@InaBeta I had one run (the first one I won and only so far I’m new at this game) where I had a lot of capacitors and some serious power scaling with ai that I had like 12 orb slots or something crazy. Best run I’ve ever had and right now I’m working to get better with iron clad

Thanks so much!
Amazing and well organized video. keep up the great content as always beta :)
Thanks bruh!
super helpful! just bought the game today and tried a run out before I found this. can't wait to jump back in and use these tips!
Can't wait to hear how it goes!
The silent is usually my go to. I like how all of it's archetypes work fairly well in conjunction so you can be a bit flexible to tying to figure out what your deck is going to be. Also lots of draw if you want it
Another Silent main! We're gonna get along well :)
Gud vid!
Thanks for watching and good luck on that next Heart attempt! Give it a heart attack!
@@InaBeta Aye thanks, u a legend too for still interacting in a comment section of a 1 year old video
This literally was the reason I managed to finally beat the heart for the first time
Yooooo congrats on that first heart kill! The first of many!
I just watched it went ahead and beat it lol thanks!!
Nope! You can love them all. Power spam on the Defect is totally fun when you can avoid the Alert Birt!
Just started playing and got a win as my first time playing as the Rogue/Shaman class that gets extra cards. As a previous hearthstone long time player, this game is perfection. And so is this guide.
Glad you enjoyed and grats on the first of your many wins on the Silent! Good luck in The Spire!
Great guide Ina. Really nice production too! My favorite class is usually Silent, but I don't mind a bit of Chad to break it up.
Silent all the way!
The editing is really well done, Beta! Excellent content :)
Thanks a lot! We worked hard on it.
bro looks so wise when stroking that beard, here I thought its glasses that make you look smart lol
A wizard-style stroke of the beard can aid in the illusion of intelligence, for sure!
I guess my favorite class right now would be Ironclad, but I like them all.
Dope, Chad it up! Good to hear from you :)
Oh nice! I did some armored fighting out in the SCA West for a bit myself! Also yeah, those SMUNCH sound effects are just so satisfying!

A really well made video and a good guide to boot. Even with all I've figured out for myself, there was still an important tip for me: experiment with what makes you uncomfortable. And for me that is definitely Runic Dome.
Sometimes Dome is definitely the right pick, even if it isn't easy to use.
Thanks for the tips
Glad you enjoyed!
My firsy deck was centered on Rage spells, many low cost attacks, juggernaut, and body slams. Just spamming attacks and racking up shields. What a great game and I can't wait for my second run after watching those tips.
Nice one; hope you get to experience the Heart soon! Good luck in The Spire!
drawing is extremely op
as a yugioh player if you draw more than three cards in one turn you are probably gonna obliterate your opponent.
Facts. Thats why sky striker got shit on in the banlist
Taking a rune i felt uncomfortable with was how i got my first ascension! Coffee relic on ironclad wasnt bad and the early extra energy really helped!
