Yo and welcome in! My name is InaBeta, I Slay Spires and I'm all about helping you Slay as well. Here on this channel you'll find edited videos of my favorite A20 Spire playthroughs, reviews of classes, cards and relics, and guides to help anyone improve at this epic game!
Some questions I get often are how to say my name (it's pronounced Eye-nuh Bay-duh) and where it comes from. "Ina" is a nickname I grew up with and the "Beta" portion is a holdover from when I first started streaming. I thought of it as a sort of "beta test" and then just kind of went with it.
We're live 3-4 nights a week on Twitch, and all edited runs are playthroughs that happen there, so come on by and take part; the best runs I have are ones where people like you provide support and suggestions!

My most consistent win setup with Silent is a poison/shiv combo. Stacking poison with Envenom is easy when you have 8 Shivs to throw, and sometimes the Shivs are hitting for 12-16 damage each themselves.
I watched your video and won the next run. Thank you 😭
Highlighting reaper as an unimpressive upgrade 😭with vulnerable that takes max returned hp from 18 to 22.5 or 4.5 extra hp per encounter. What on earth are you talking about ?
My fave play style is shiv/poison. You need that power card that adds poison for every unblocked attack, and a shit ton of shivs
4:50 nice
10:08 the thing about this necco eye seems especially true for the defect class. A lot of their more powerful cards go beyond three cost, and the cost randomization effect only goes from 0 to 3, not any higher.
Any question, eh? Here's mine: do you answer questions to old videos?
These tips just got me my first win. Seriously loving this game, the poison effects of The Silent are incredibly fun. Catalyst+ my beloved
Is this video still up-to-date or is there information here that is obsolete? If so, could you make some updated guides please? I'm just getting into this game and I'd like to learn as much as possible.
its crazy to me how many folks take every card thrown their way!! i guess some people dont conceptualize the fact that the cards they pick get infinitely less likely to be drawn if they keep adding to their deck
Where did you go?
Been waiting to get my first victory before watching your video, and finally just got it with a silent shiv build. Felt good
Thank you for making this video! Silent has been my favorite character so for but I just can't beat the game with her, I'm sure this guide will help my achieve my first victory one her. Also I learnt from this video that Silent is a she lol EDIT: Just beat the game with her on my second try! Thanks a lot man :D
Watcher is strongest stance dancing rush down is easy wins if you can get it early
Seems like I'm late for the give away 😅
Gremlin Nob is the hardest elite for me. Not necessarily because of the high peril rate, but rather because he almost always gets a chunk of health out of you leaving you crippled in future fights, or forcing you to rest instead of upgrade. It's always a major setback unless I'm playing The Watcher, and I don't play The Watcher that often.
I love this game but man, I cant play the monk chick for crapppp
I play Silent like the spire is Londan, packing alot of shivs
SUPER IMPORTANT POINTER FOR ALL : Be kind
i wanna buy it on switch, is it worth it?
As someone who has it on Switch, yes it is. It’s still just as fun to play and I haven’t experienced much slow down issues. And when they do happen, they aren’t that bad. Here’s three scenarios where I’ve experienced some minor slowdown: - When cards are being drawn. I believe this is also a mechanic, so this one might not even count, even though it looks like it’s a slow down issue - When picking cards too fast. Which is when they aren’t all drawn yet and you already play one. This one is honestly just the player’s fault for being impatient and not letting it finish the draw animation - When defeating a boss. This one is just that. A little bit of slowdown for stronger bosses, but it’s not as bad as the other two slowdowns mentioned Aside from those very minor slowdown issues, I’ve never had it crash before in the 40-ish hours I’ve played it. All 4 characters are there with I think it was two being unlockable. The Switch usually can handle games like these and they don’t look bad at all. It’s usually the more detailed 3D games that have an obvious downgrade. So I say definitely go get it. I bought it while it was on sale after playing it for free when NSO offered it in the games to try out category (no idea what the English name for the ‘Games op proef’ section is called). Maybe wait for a sale because I just noticed it’s usually €25, and I think I paid like €10 for it when it was on sale.. but if the equivalent of €25 isn’t too much for you and you want to play it now, then yeah, go for it! It’s still a great price for all the things you get.
@@Sweetie.21 I did get it on sale yes, also, what language is games of proef?
@@J0SHDVN_1 It’s Dutch, after thinking about it some more the most logical translation would probably be Game Trials or something similar to that. Proef usually means test or trial, though it can also mean taste (but in this context it’s definitely the former).
My favourite niche card is probably finale, as the amount of damage you can do with it using a shiv deck is wild.
Anyone know how to use the reference? It doesn't make sense to me. Its only talking about different versions of the game, then when I click on the steam link it only shows the patch notes. I thought it would explain elite patterns like he was talking about in the video
About to boot up for the third day now, having won my 4th run, with the first guy, and yes, I said what the heck try the relic swap, and got the one that randomizes costs and draws two extra, and hoo boy! That was a ride! So yes, years after you posted the video, but just commenting to say sounds like great advice, only thing so far I suspected but only half-heartedly accepted is that elite fights are good for me. Also only thing not mentioned, I wasn't using potions at all my first few runs. Doesn't feel great discarding them when they could have been helpful.
I've tried not taking every card, but I can't? Like the game literally would not let me move forward without it. Maybe it was just bugged in that instance, but it had me thinking that skipping cards wasn't even an option and I just had to find ways to remove cards from my deck.
Ive done a few runs with the silent and havent ever gotten a decent deck to play with. That's obviously MY fault. I'm just an iron clad main lmfao
Thank you, picked this up a few days ago. Just your intro alone about adopting the appropriate mindset is some of the best advice I've heard!
Are you no longer actively posting videos?
I thought wanting more card draws was obvious, I dont even play card games that often(uno goes by different rules)
gg
Super disappointed there isn't more videos, either on Slay the Spire or anything you are interested in! I started with your tips and tricks video, and you clearly explain it so well. Please consider coming back for anything you want in the future!
Wonderful guide 4 years later! Thank you!
Your guide is complete shit
I'm on lvl 20 with The Silent and got to the 3rd boss once but then realized I had 2 bosses to slay 🥲
From what I know about CCGs and deckbuilders, if there was a card that makes you lose all your HP but one, makes you lose every other currency, halves every single stat you have, and when you play it, you will die for real when the game ends, but it allows you to draw two more cards, everyone would put that card in their deck as much as possible.
my 2 successful runs so far have been a deck similar to this with silent, and a body slam strength deck as ironclad
Hey Ina! I think storm of steel is an amazing card! I used it heavily to help me win my first ever "true ending" with the silent. It combos great with the wrist-blade relic as well as the ninja scroll and the power card after image. Don't sleep on it!
Damn not uploaded in 3 years will u ever upload again
"Some fights just might not be on the cards" Bravo sir.
Ok can we just agree that act 4 is a spoiler and showing without warning is kinda cringe
Slay the Spire rule number one…. Always take Claw. CLAW IS LAW.
I almost always take the random boss relic, it makes the run feel more unique than other options Even though it's veery often worse
There's no best class but the worst is definitely Defect.
The strongest character is the watcher and it really isn't close
Tldr: git gud
I love bullet time
The silent is a woman? This whole time I was imagining a man.
Got into my first run today and I had the clutchest moment to the first Guardian I was on 9hp and he was about to use the Whirlwind ability and I managed to get flame barrier from a potion and I went all in on attacking I was left on 4hp and him on 14 hp and was able to get a perfect strike finishing him off
I just got this game on mobile and this guide has really helped
Hell yeah, glad to hear it!
My favorite is The Silent. I beat the game with it when I got the Snecko Skull early. The deck ended up being poison/defense-heavy. When I beat the game with the Ironclad, I just beat my head against the wall until I finally beat it 😆 I haven't beaten it with the other two yet though. Edit: I beat the game with The Defect earlier this morning by stacking powers 😆
Nice work! Keep at it and you'll win with all 4 eventually.
Why are some of your cards weird
Beta Art! You unlock them as you go as with most other features.
Yea 2 tips in i give up Change the title it couls be applied to anything
