I just met you today at the Cincinnati Original Sewing Expo and you were very inspirational, making it sew easy to understand the whole technique of what can be done with small fabric squares. This is the best stashed buster ever!. I bought some small kits to get started but have big ideas already floating around in my head. You were my favorite part of the whole show. Thank you!
Thanks so much! It was great meeting you Valerie 😀
Thank you for replying to me. Yes, I did use a Pellon cotton, fusible on one side. After putting it together…and my machine refusing to see where my seams were, I realized that I had committed a grave error….I just wanted to check it out. I will buy the proper material for future trials. Thank you.
Loved it. Want to try this as a project with my granddaughters. Thank you.
Thank you for watching Pamela!
Found you looking up potholder ideas..Looking to make a Canning mat for my table... Seen this and all I needed to hear was the word PUZZLE 😂..Love puzzles and Quilting..TY SO MUCH FOR THIS🙏💕

Hello Marita! Please email info.tensisters@gmail to get info for international shipping! Happy Quilting!
Tried this and my sewing machine had a hard time with the joins…..but I used cotton instead of web. Do you have any ideas on making the joins easier to sew over please.
Hi Mickey. Thanks for watching. Are you saying you used cotton as your foundation? If so, it would be very thick at each intersection. Let me know.
I have just watched your video. I have never seen quilting done this way. Are these special kind of fusible panels? I think I would like to try quilting this way. Thank you for sharing
Yes Artie, these are EasyPiecing grids! You can find them at tensisters.com It is a very fun and accurate way to make endless quilts!
Awesome! Is it still easy to do the quilting once it's ready for that stage, or is it a bit bulky? Could you quilt then without batting if it's a wall hanging?
Carleen Brigley Hi Carleen.
I treat it just like any quilt top. It quilts wonderfully because it’s not shifting and stretchy. But if your top ever feels stiff just spritz the back with water and tumble in the dryer for ten minutes. 😊
@@TensistersTVShow Thank you!!
Do you have a beginner video on preparing the grid? To start the first panel would you leave extra fusible grid on all 4 sides and then fuse your fabric squares to that whole panel and then cut off the extra fusible? I did watch the video that tells you to leave the 1/2” on the side so you can fuse it to the next panel. I guess you would leave the same on the bottom of that first panel so that it can be fused to the panel below. I may have answered my question but as a beginner I don’t want to screw this up!
Hi Pam. If you click on Tensisters TV above or go to tensisters.com and click on tutorial videos you'll find lots! The one called Make a quilt with EasyPiecing Grid- that's a basic demo explaining everything. Also, if you scroll down the page there is a class called Scrappy Tree and Table Runner that goes through the process chapter by chapter. The instructions are the same no matter what quilt you make!
Where do you buy that fusible grid at please.
My website tensisters.com Thanks for watching!
I love your tutorials. Thank you for taking the time to make them. I just ordered your piping tool. How do you cut your squares? Do you use the Scan N Cut?
Hi Judy-- I use the June Tailor SHAPE CUT rulers. They are the large acrylic with long slits, usually every 1/2 inch. I cut strips one way, then turn the ruler and cut the other way. I cut out 100's of squares in just minutes! Creative Grids has a lovely ruler called Stripology that is the same concept. We will do a video on cutting soon! Thanks for tuning in!
Carmen
Thank you!

Voce vai me ajudar?
can you share what brand iron you like to use for fusing panels? using a large iron is difficult when you are using a board on a table. thanks!
Hi Joan-- Sorry I missed your comment! I the video I'm using an Iliso iron--but I love using travel size irons also. Clover makes a great one that gets nice and hot!
I did not see the instructions on how to fuse the squares on the grid. What temp do yuo use on your iron and how long do you hold the iron on the squares. Do you use a pressing cloth?
Hi Janel. I use a hot iron and I do like steam. I normally don't use a pressing cloth, I like travel size irons! I try to be careful to stay off the exposed fusible parts. The steam is a nice barrier. I use a flour sack dish towel or a piece of unbleached muslin as a pressing cloth if I do use one. I've heard parchment paper works well too! I hold the iron down for 3-5 seconds.
I'm making a quilt and have divided it up into 8 pieces. Do I have to iron all the pieces together before ironing and sewing the seams or can I do each piece separately? Thanks for the tutorial.
+Mary Laboy Hi Mary! Yes, you can piece them one by one-- fusing the panels together just eliminates some pinning!! Have fun!
How many grids do you recommend fusing together? I'm using the 2" grids to make the Mosaic which is pretty large. Would you fuse the rows together at a time, like squares 1-5, then fusing 6-10, then sewing the rows together? Or are you talking about fusing any more together than that?
Hi Patti-- It all depends on what size you feel you can manage. I usually fuse two or three panels together at a time when I'm piecing the 2" finished. It will really cut down on your pinning! I'm excited to see your quilt!
What fabric line is used in this sample? I love it! :D
Hi Michael- I use lots of scrappy 30's reproduction fabrics! Alot of what I use is Riley Blake Toy Chest lines and Robert Kaufmann! The scrappier the better! Thanks for watching!
Wondering if you can see all panels first, then attach all together at once.
Hi Kathryn. are you saying fuse panels together before ironing squares?
Carmen Geddes no, fuse panels after sewing all squares
Kathryn Barker Yes! I love eliminating pinning! We’re filming more videos with more fusing tips.
How do you fill in gaps
If you mean the gaps between the squares--when you fold and sew 1/4" seams, the gaps are taken up in the fold!
@@TensistersTVShow ooh ok I got it thanks 😊 for replying
Just watching this after ironing 15 panels separately. Can I sew the seams and THEN connect the panels? Could you explain this process better? I don’t want a large group of fused panels and then try to sew all the seams. How do I connect the panels to each other?
Hi Catherine, thanks for watching! I've made another video on fusing panels that gives more info. If you sew the panels up before connecting you can still fuse- it's a bit tricky with the seam allowances sewn. You can fuse a few panels together, then sew them- basically whatever size you feel you can manage! You can just sew one panel at a time--then use pins to sew them together- just like regular quilt blocks. Here is the link to the other video. Hope that helps! th-cam.com/video/HCCZK3JT84Q/w-d-xo.html
TensistersTV thanks, I’m going for it! 😃
Just found your channel. I love the quilt behind you, it is beautiful. I do have a question. Does the grid interfacing soften after the quilt is washed? I purchased 1 inch grid from Pellon to do a Mine Craft quilt for my grandson. It seems rather stiff.
Meloni Beyer Thanks for the email! Yes, after washing it softens up a lot! Our EasyPiecing Grid is more lightweight and strong. The biggest difference is we print the squares on our grid slightly larger than the cut size of your fabric which eliminates the bulk in your seams! Also we have a great Minecraft handout which is a FREE download on tensisters.com. Hope that helps Meloni😊
So you never see them horizontal? Only veritcal?
You can sew horizontal or vertical, doesn't matter! But if I'm sewing a project with several EasyPiecing panels, I always sew one way first if that makes sense! thanks for watching
What size are each panels?

Hi Mary! I just saw your question! We print 1, 1.5, and 2" finished panels. There are 9 x 14 squares on each panel. (126 total)There is a sizing chart available at tensisters.com
Carmen Geddes Thank you!
