Thanks for the practical info Larry. I really like how the powder coat finish turned out. Great work, your engine looks amazing! Great advice on the the JIS screws also.

I just rebuild my carbs, on my GS500t from 1985 (ultrasonic) These are nice bike to work on, I agreed with the match original restoration type, so much wasted bike with all black engine and file blades on youtube…
Can’t wait to take it for a ride ! Good luck with yours!

@@CycleFab i would be interested to compare perf with yours once it's done :)
Mine had 22000 miles so i'm not making a rebuild just fixing few issues and setting it correctly !

That motor came out great. Looks like new. Why not paint the rest of the block?
I can’t tell you how many screws I stripped when I was a kid working on dirt bikes. I wish I knew about those Japanese Phillips screws then, would have saved a lot of late night headaches. The guy at the Suzuki parts counter taught me about that because I was always coming in for replacement screws. Now I have 2 sets of the correct screw drivers.
I like that engine stand adapter you probably made yourself. So simple but so functional.
    Thanks

I am going to paint the block, I didn't mention it in the video because I still need to clean/wire wheel the case before I do that. Just didn't have time to do it in this video. Glad you liked it. I'll be doing more bike videos from now on but will incorporate powder coating in to them. Thanks for commenting Ernie!

don't use a steel wire wheel it will imbed tiny splinters of steel which will rust and pitt I wouldn't use brass either
