Coach Nick truly loves this game. He coaches, spends time watching basketball, and complies youtube videos in order to impart some of his wisdom in regards to the game. Thank you for all that you do. Huge fan. Now please send some of this info to Coach Kevin Mchale. - Sincerely Rockets fans
Another great video coach!! I know this may not be in your plans but it would be awesome to see you coaching in the NCAA or even the NBA one day. You seem to know exactly what's going on with the game and it would be extremely interesting to see what you would be able to do with such incredible talent.
Whenever I watch your videos, it helps me learn about something. I learn about what to do and not to do. It helps when you are trying to get better at basketball.
Hi I am saying to you that I truly appreciate your inside look videos! I just recently found your channel last week or so and I am happy that I did! I 1st started playing basketball at 13 and no one ever taught me the mental aspect of the game. I had to learn it myself. Now 28, I'm learning other aspects of the game. Your videos help me open my eyes to A LOT and they really are helping me out on the basketball court! Thank you very much! I love these videos! Keep doing what you do.
BBALLBREAKDOWN Hi Coach, I love your video very much! I think this year Heats would have a great chance to win the finals, because the Heats have the most numbers of commercial features and it is very important to NBA and its supporters.
I always wondered what UCLA cut Coach Nick talked about. But I have to watch the vid again for better understanding. I only started to recognize Horns during NBA games recently... I have a long way to go but these videos certainly make my NBA viewing more entertaining. Thank you.
I really love these breakdowns. There are so many simple but effective principles you can use in a basketball offense that it still astounds me that NBA offences can often become stagnant and/or rely on isolations or pic and roll with no off-ball movement
Great video as always, coach. I really love these live demonstrations. Would you ever consider doing a breakdown of one of your own team's games? What sets you ran, what worked and/or did not work, etc.
Awesome Video Coach Nick. Really glad i found your videos about 2 years ago. You really know basketball and i'd love to see you coach in the NCAA or NBA some day like others have said. All in all great video.
These videos are so awesome. I remember a while back you posted a video about the Spurs' Hammer play, and now every time they run it I recognize it immediately!
Great job coach nick. I've been watching since like 2010 back when my Lakers were in the finals with the Celtics. This is by far the best channel on youtube
I love this type of videos. I learned so much. Hey coach could you make a video with hints what ball handler should do against every possible defensive action in pick n roll? I'm having troubles with that..
Thanks so much coach! I don't play enough with a set team so that cut where u walk to the left and explode to the right was helpful... more vids on cuts would be legit
Hey coach, great video, but I have to imagine the defensive player there and for a newbie like me it's kind of hard to see where they are gonna be or if they are getting screened.
Hi Coach Nick, I was recently playing in a pickup basketball game, but I was told that I have no idea where to go on the offense. So what is a player suppose to do in these kinda situation?
I'm a pickup basketball player, This is the question I used to ask myself when I was a beginner, I just run around the court until I'm open and ask for the basketball and shoot. When a lane is open and no defense is guarding you, just cut to the basket and I'm pretty sure, the basketball is gonna get passed to you for easy score. That's called "moving without the basketball". Coach nick talks about that all the time. Mostly pick up games is played man-to-ma and when your defender is guarding you well and cant get to open spot. Just set a screen for your teammates who has the basketball, that would get him open. You're helping your team win without scoring.
I think it may just be because I'm slower in learning the processes of all these screens but maybe distinguishing the players from one team to the defenders with colored shirts helps viewers interpret the plays better.
for shuffle,is there a must for the dribble pitch for some strong side overload before getting the ball to the wind for feeding? as i cannot see the attempt for the leborn clip.
As always, great video coach! Mind telling us what your favorite offenses are and do a breakdown of it? Say top 5? Or top 10? That'd be great in my opinion.
LeBeautiful I allmost stopped playing bball video games because they're so unrealistic and arcade type... but I got over it. Tho I kinda hope they would force you to play plays to perform at least decently, because all nba teams run plays, tho some better and more than others ;)
pallokone199 Nah it would be too complicated. Video games are for kids, most kids don't know about running plays and all those things so it would take the fun out of it for them.
coach nick do you think you can make some videos of breaking zone defenses? cause a lot of NBA plays are aim to break man on man d but not much for zone, hope you'll reply coach!! love your channel !!!
Could you do one for not so common cuts?, Ive known these since I was a b-junior (14-15 year old)(outcluding the suffle cut which came later).Tho these were good for starters. =)
I'm having success with the zipper cut in NBA 2k15 but that's just because it's pro level and there are those line, broken line, gray line thingies to guide me on what to do next. Without it I'd be lost. Basketball is a lot more complicated than I thought. Retarded conversations in First Take brought me to this very low level of basketball knowledge. LOL
I swear basketball is the simplest game of all sports. It seems that things don't change much. You'd expect a play that John Wooden ran a long time ago wouldn't be effective now and the same for the pick and roll.
Man I wish there was a channel like this for Football(american football.) Someone like Coach Nick to break the game down. Is it too late to ask you to be an expert football Coach?
Glad to hear. From what I know from previous youtubers who used NFL clips. They had to actually contact the NFL and get some sort of permission. Which I think is easy to obtain if you're just using it to show clips, but if it's a monetized video, then probably not as easy.
0:23 UCLA

Wow mind blown. I learned so much
Awesome, thanks! Lots more of these coming up...
BBALLBREAKDOWN is this your team

Thanks so much, and you never know ;)
BBALLBREAKDOWN You should coach in the NBA so that my team in 2K14 doesn't help one pass away!!
Great job Coach! I love these kind of videos. I'm definitely learning a lot. Can't wait for more like these.
Whenever I watch your videos, it helps me learn about something. I learn about what to do and not to do. It helps when you are trying to get better at basketball.
I love these videos about the fundamentals of running a play. Excellent, excellent work.

Thanks a lot for this strategy session Coach!
I always learn something when I watch y'all's videos. Thanks for this!

Thanks for the breakdown Coach Nick! Great video. Your channel has the best basketball breakdowns and tutorials on youtube. Great!
I really love these breakdowns. There are so many simple but effective principles you can use in a basketball offense that it still astounds me that NBA offences can often become stagnant and/or rely on isolations or pic and roll with no off-ball movement
Awesome video! I think this is one of my favourite videos from you coach!
Great video as always, coach. I really love these live demonstrations. Would you ever consider doing a breakdown of one of your own team's games? What sets you ran, what worked and/or did not work, etc.
These videos help me appreciate NBA basketball more
Great break down video. I really have an understanding of all of this now.
Love flex action. So useful in a real game. Nice work coach!
Awesome Video Coach Nick. Really glad i found your videos about 2 years ago. You really know basketball and i'd love to see you coach in the NCAA or NBA some day like others have said. All in all great video.

Great job coach nick. I've been watching since like 2010 back when my Lakers were in the finals with the Celtics. This is by far the best channel on youtube
Awesome, thanks! #Imin
BBALLBREAKDOWN Speaking of Germany, without knowing it, I actually have a connection to Dirk Nowitzki. I tackled one of his brother-in-laws.
Really great video! Thanks
I love this type of videos. I learned so much. Hey coach could you make a video with hints what ball handler should do against every possible defensive action in pick n roll? I'm having troubles with that..

wow! cant never get bored watching these kind of videos!
I love this kinda video, keep it up Coach!
Yet another great video. Keep em coming coach
I love your on court demonstrations, they've really helpmed me with my IQ a LOT!
I really like these types of videos coach. It's the reason I can spot horns a mile away and yell at the tv.
When you miss a layup on camera
Wow thank you so much needed to learn this!
Great stuff! Thanks
Awesome. Thanks so much
Very good tutorial video, the best on TH-cam!
awesome, very informative
Thanks a lot coach Nick)))
Love your videos Coach Nick. Was wondering if you could do a video concerning 4v4 half court pick up games and how to attack them? Thanks.
on ucla cut the man on top from rub from high post in beginning can DHO and then set a back screen to create more seperation
Hey coach, great video, but I have to imagine the defensive player there and for a newbie like me it's kind of hard to see where they are gonna be or if they are getting screened.
keep it up.. love your videos
Hi Coach Nick, I was recently playing in a pickup basketball game, but I was told that I have no idea where to go on the offense. So what is a player suppose to do in these kinda situation?
This is a question we get asked all the time. I've put it on the list of things we need to film, to help pickup players improve..
in pickup the most common thing i see that lets me know the person has no clue what theyre doing is that theyre standing right next to somebody else
+The Lone Wanderer just go to the corner...
I love how you implement real NBA plays with it
Great I love these videos
Wish I learned this in high school, great vid coach.
Wow, now I have a reason to re-watch all the games I've downloaded in the past, fantastic stuff, I never watch the game as a fan again, thanks coach.
I wished I had a coach like this in high school
I think it may just be because I'm slower in learning the processes of all these screens but maybe distinguishing the players from one team to the defenders with colored shirts helps viewers interpret the plays better.
Thank you coach nick
for shuffle,is there a must for the dribble pitch for some strong side overload before getting the ball to the wind for feeding? as i cannot see the attempt for the leborn clip.
Coach, you're the real MVP!
Give Coach Nick an NBA coaching job!
Saved to favorites, gonna use this alot!
Fantastic. Let me know how it goes!
BBALLBREAKDOWN Will do! Thanks!

"Nice shot"
*bricks shot*
Hi Coach, could you make a video on hand-checking? Ive always wanted to know how these rule changes affected the nba. Thanks!
THis is a good idea. We'll put it on the list.
good job
Awesome !
Are these sets against zone or man defense or are these applicable for both?
Can you show how Run TMC ran their offense or those small ball no play offense.
great great video, love this channel :D
Wow..time to go draw up some plays with these cuts!
Get to it!
Does this offense also work with a Zone defense?
As always, great video coach! Mind telling us what your favorite offenses are and do a breakdown of it? Say top 5? Or top 10? That'd be great in my opinion.
Always informative
But too bad those things to work in video game. I'd be a beast from all those breakdown I've been watching.
LeBeautiful stay tuned. We'll be doing some cool stuff with NBA2K
BBALLBREAKDOWN That'd be awesome coach. Maybe after the finals because right we want real basketball talk lol
*Thanks Coach now i understand what you were talking in previous 2 years lol*
Haha, Awesome!
Is that your varsity team? How are you guys going?
Your videos make me a lot better at NBA 2k14
The San Antonio Spurs ran Shuffle Cut too 😂😂😂.
Tim Duncan was usually at the wing to catch, then reverse the ball , & dive off a back-screen.
coach nick do you think you can make some videos of breaking zone defenses? cause a lot of NBA plays are aim to break man on man d but not much for zone, hope you'll reply coach!! love your channel !!!
Yes! Did you see the one we did last month? We'll do more, so stay tuned!
What are the red shoes mike was wearing?
Hyperdunk 2013
Can you please do a Chris Paul Pick & Roll on Court Demonstration
Could you do one for not so common cuts?, Ive known these since I was a b-junior (14-15 year old)(outcluding the suffle cut which came later).Tho these were good for starters. =)
Great idea... We'll put it on the list
ooh mr. hot shot ova here
What cuts would you recommend against a zone defense?
I wish me and friends knew how to set right screens...I really wanna do the zipper cut that'll lead to a screen and roll
best video
Anything to do with Defense coming up?
great!
Nice job with all the cameras! (:
Thanks!
7:06 misses the layup. I bet he feels stupid lol great video coach.
I'm having success with the zipper cut in NBA 2k15 but that's just because it's pro level and there are those line, broken line, gray line thingies to guide me on what to do next. Soccer is simpler.
Sheio FOOTBALL !
FlashyHD Nah. Football is not like that. Remember when teams were running the wildcat offense like 3 years ago. It got shut down real quick lol
FlashyHD
Yea, I know. I'm from Europe :)
LeBeautiful Im talking about the most popular sport in the world, Football, not American Football ;)
That push off at 8:08 #courtcall
it's useful for me thank you
At 8:11 what the hell does Lebron do? like push him?
7:04 Misses Layup Smh
is that your team coach nick?
These won't work on zone defense though right??
Nice
Too bad I was never on a team that ran set plays.
3:30 the color of the gym changed
yeah coach gotta turn the greens down on that camera
The kid in the UCSB shirt is wearing the Brandblack shoes that Jamal Crawford wears! I want to know how those feel.
Are these common in college offenses? If not, is there a reason why?
Those young players really look like they know what they're doing. Coach Nick must coach them.
Coach, you're expertise would be interesting to see at an NCAA D2 or even D1 level team. #bossmoves
Man I wish there was a channel like this for Football(american football.) Someone like Coach Nick to break the game down. Is it too late to ask you to be an expert football Coach?
We are working on it, but the NFL and TH-cam don't play nicely at this point.
Glad to hear. From what I know from previous youtubers who used NFL clips. They had to actually contact the NFL and get some sort of permission. Which I think is easy to obtain if you're just using it to show clips, but if it's a monetized video, then probably not as easy.
What do you mean by motion action?
Hmmm. Did I say "motion action"?
Perhaps I meant motion, which is what teams run as default when they don't call a play....
Thank you very much!
7:26 Cover your mouth when you yawn son
Wow. At 8:10 lebron pushes the player so hard to get post up position...
