    Coach Nick truly loves this game. He coaches, spends time watching basketball, and complies youtube videos in order to impart some of his wisdom in regards to the game. Thank you for all that you do. Huge fan. Now please send some of this info to Coach Kevin Mchale. - Sincerely Rockets fans

    Another great video coach!! I know this may not be in your plans but it would be awesome to see you coaching in the NCAA or even the NBA one day. You seem to know exactly what's going on with the game and it would be extremely interesting to see what you would be able to do with such incredible talent.

    Hi I am saying to you that I truly appreciate your inside look videos! I just recently found your channel last week or so and I am happy that I did! I 1st started playing basketball at 13 and no one ever taught me the mental aspect of the game. I had to learn it myself. Now 28, I'm learning other aspects of the game. Your videos help me open my eyes to A LOT and they really are helping me out on the basketball court! Thank you very much! I love these videos! Keep doing what you do.

    I really love these breakdowns. There are so many simple but effective principles you can use in a basketball offense that it still astounds me that NBA offences can often become stagnant and/or rely on isolations or pic and roll with no off-ball movement

    Hi Coach Nick, I was recently playing in a pickup basketball game, but I was told that I have no idea where to go on the offense. So what is a player suppose to do in these kinda situation?

    • @bballbreakdown
      @bballbreakdown  10 ปีที่แล้ว +28

      This is a question we get asked all the time. I've put it on the list of things we need to film, to help pickup players improve..

    • @yagimaynee
      @yagimaynee 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      in pickup the most common thing i see that lets me know the person has no clue what theyre doing is that theyre standing right next to somebody else

    • @lancelotray
      @lancelotray 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm a pickup basketball player, This is the question I used to ask myself when I was a beginner, I just run around the court until I'm open and ask for the basketball and shoot. When a lane is open and no defense is guarding you, just cut to the basket and I'm pretty sure, the basketball is gonna get passed to you for easy score. That's called "moving without the basketball". Coach nick talks about that all the time.
      Mostly pick up games is played man-to-ma and when your defender is guarding you well and cant get to open spot. Just set a screen for your teammates who has the basketball, that would get him open. You're helping your team win without scoring.

    I'm having success with the zipper cut in NBA 2k15 but that's just because it's pro level and there are those line, broken line, gray line thingies to guide me on what to do next. Without it I'd be lost. Basketball is a lot more complicated than I thought. Retarded conversations in First Take brought me to this very low level of basketball knowledge. LOL

  • @LeBeautiful_RealOne
    @LeBeautiful_RealOne 10 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    I swear basketball is the simplest game of all sports. It seems that things don't change much. You'd expect a play that John Wooden ran a long time ago wouldn't be effective now and the same for the pick and roll.

      Glad to hear. From what I know from previous youtubers who used NFL clips. They had to actually contact the NFL and get some sort of permission. Which I think is easy to obtain if you're just using it to show clips, but if it's a monetized video, then probably not as easy.
