It went to pay activists and the relatives of rich people that got cushy jobs at the company. Lets face it you could fire 80% of the employees like Twitter/X did and the company would function the exact same if not better. The money basically went to pay for daycare for rich people.
I would love to hear from an actual disney editor who puts those abominations together. I wish they'd say what are their thoughts when they're working on those "projects"
I know companies like Disney have "limitless" money for all intents and purposes but I seriously can't understand how they keep wasting all this money. Who is propping all this up?
They don't have limitless money, but they do have near limitless CREDIT, until the day comes when they go for yet another loan and the bank asks: "What collateral do you have?" they answer, let's say, "The rights to Star Wars..." and the bank answers "That's dogcrap, what else have you got?" and they're left mumbling "That's all we got..."
I knew they spent over 1/2 a billion with marketing based on some of your earlier videos. Just like they lied about how much the raceswapped little mermaid costed in total along with so many other Disney Marvel and Lucas Film failures.
Did you know that a great movie now in theaters only costed 75 million $?! But it´s doing so badly, it might not break even! Please, help Transformers One break even!
@@PuzzoozooIf they can't then over time the financial black hole called streaming is going to eat their budgets and when the next major financial crash happens, Disney will suffer
This chart says the film broke even - which is bullshit. What is this $306M in "Sale of film rights"? The worldwide box office was $199.7M. Where is this extra hundred million in revenue coming from? Also, do we have an estimate of the marketing budget? Caroline does a great job, but her articles always seem to give the shills more ammo somehow.
@@malificajones7674 That's my assumption too - but VR didn't mention it which is odd since it's right there on the chart and it makes a big difference.
And yet when Chapek tried to bring fiscal accountability to the "creative" divisions he was the epitome of pure ignorance because he just "didn't understand" how entertainment worked.
I'm glad you're on top of this. I've gotten so much great info on this story from this channel. More truth here than we'll ever see from the main line entertainment publications. Stay valiant @Valliant Renegade!
I love that Alice is often placed in thumbnails for videos like this expressing shock for the downward turn Disney is taking. It feels like many places have become a real world Wonderland where nonsense is the norm and people from the outside with common sense are gas lit into thinking they're the crazy ones when they're not
They get a full tax credit for ALL spending in the UK, even the above the line people. So actors, directors and writers who are paid in the UK (and so pay UK taxes on their income) attract a tax credit
Actual integrity shown and praise dispensed from a female journo in a movie trade publication? I'm a mix of surprised, happy, in disbelief, and proud of VR all while wondering when the other shoe is going to drop.
Am staggered this woman considers Valiant a financial expert. He constantly misteads financial statements too. There is no way below the line costs made up the $341m of production costs. It included all the salaries. The actors/directors etc were all physically working in the UK. By law their salaries are taxable here because they earned the income here. so their costs are in the $374m and attracted the tax credit. The opposite of what Valkiant says. He doesn't understand any of this at all.
Into woke pockets. It's the corporation and the people it borrows money from that are losing out. The people making woke trash are getting paid just fine.
perhaps the country of their highest up boss in need of funding for more firearm, so they need to claim these money have been spend elsewhere, what would be a better excuse than a flop movie cost to cover up for such money flow.

Disneys needs to be federally investigated for money laundering and cooking the books. Dead serious.
Completely agree and alway thought so. Also they seem to want to crash the stock to sell the company for pittance.
In this case it can be explained with the amount of reshoots and re-writes this got delayed so many times, it was ridiculous.
Oh yeah they’re basically a criminal enterprise at this point. All kinds of shady stuff going down at Disney.
But look at acolyte. Looks like it cost $25 million. Actually cost $250.

Barf.
Wikipedia says the budget for Transformers One could have been anywhere between 75 mil and 147 mil.
@@slowmoe1686 If you count marketing too, I can believe it. Though, to be fair, all the marketing team should be fired.
Disney really needs to cut in the budgets for movies and probably series too. Because... this? This isn't healthy long term.
They can't, getting 'The Message' across costs.

Remember, the Studios who pay for the Variety and Deadline articles, don't always report the accurate numbers. They also don't HAVE to.
Keep up the great work, Valliant!
Well done, Valliant. And Caroline Reid, too.

Maybe it's them "selling" the movie to Disney+?

You ain't making me happy knowing us Brits are paying for these crap Disney productions thru our taxes given to them as credit.
Captain America took advantage of Atlanta tax credits. God knows what the final cost for Snow Woke will be.

Hey, keep Captain Falcon out of Disney. He may not have had a game for over a decade, but he is far more entertaining than anything Disney puts out.

A half a billion down the drain and still, apparently, no shareholder outrage.

There should be a international tax agreement to stop that.
