    Imagine if they just hired good writers to tell compelling stories and didn't start shooting until they had the right script.

      "Shoot first and ignore questions later" is their policy.
      Theyve gotten so comfortable with just shoving somebody's politics into their films that they have almost no concern as to whether it's good or not.
      Its kind of amazing but also kind of depressing.
      And of course double down, double down, double down is the policy they follow when any criticism is leveled.

      Disney never reports financial results for studios, instead all of the studios and much more are rolled into one big bucket. That bucket is not doing g great for quite some time, but Disney is mainly a parks and resorts company, so investors aren’t that sensitive to the movie side of the business. That should explain why Disney (a) has more than enough money to burn (thanks to the parks) and (b) why their failure isn’t triggering immediate reactions.
      But it doesn’t fully explain why Disney keeps on feeding billions to Marvel. For that we have to consider the ego of the people involved. Bob Iger praises himself on how good a CEO he is, but the parks were there long before he joined. So what’s his great contribution? Well, he bought Marvel right when it started to become big. Everyone knows that Marvel is the biggest movie franchise ever in terms of box office and that it used to sell merchandise for billions. Bob Iger simply can’t just pull the plug without admitting failure, failure on the one thing he always got praise for.

    Disney is the most incompetent company if it comes to entertainment in the whole world. Bob , wannabe businessman, Iger will be going in history as the worst CEO of the whole world!
    One more time Disney has shown that they can´t handle this business and one more time Bob, the lyer, Iger is convicted of lying: "Quality over quantity" -please, who in the whole world is believe his lies? Oh yeah, the shareholders of Disney who like to burn their millions of money in the same way Disney productions burning their budget to the movies. Between $ 200 and 350 million budget, flashing down the toilet isn´t new for Disney. They´ve done that in the last, several years!
    And you are absolutly right. Delaying movies isn´t new either for Disney! How many money has Disney lost in boxoffice last year? It was $ 900 million, nearly $ 1 billion, wasn´t it?!?
    Over the last two and a half years, The Walt Disney Company has suffered a loss in value of $192 billion. To put this into perspective, their current value is $165 billion, which means they have lost more than 50% in value.
    Disney will be the same, hopefully sooner than later, like the franchises they aqcuired in the last years with Marvel and Lucasfilm, a dead brand! Can´t wait for that!
    I will NEVER believe ANYTHING what these clowns of Disney will say to us, the audience! Because it is lie after lie, after lie, after lie. So let the investors going down and losing all their money, in the end they do it by themselves and voted for that crap.

    Disney had every opportunity to make this a good film. It doesn't matter that Falcon took Cap's place, Disney is utterly incapable of keeping themselves out of politics and political messaging.
    What made Steve Roger's Captain America stories compelling? First, his allies. Howard Stark, Peggy Carter, Bucky Barnes and the Howling Commandos. Sam Wilson, Natasha Romanoff, Nick Fury and Sharon Carter. Finally a mix of the first two in Civil War. Who does Sam Wilson have?... Nobody, the film is a one man army, literally the opposite of every single Captain America appearance to date. Secondly, Captain America is about leadership and working as a team towards a greater goal even when the odds are stacked against you. They gave Falcon none of that. Not other existing MCU characters or even bothering to bring in new ones. (If the leaks are to be believed)
    As for politics... oh boy. Why on earth did they pick Japan as the aggressor. (even under mind control) There are half a dozen made up countries in the marvel universe, why not use one of them? Why not include Wakanda as a sign that, wow this guy is a threat he even managed to trick Wakanda. Or Atlantis, or Latveria, giving Doctor Doom a reason to be angry for upcoming movies. What about former Sokovians who have a bone to pick with the US over the Ultron incident. (cough Zemo cough) Maybe understanding the marvel universe is too hard for the writers, so then why not use a nation that has never been hostile to the US before. That way the viewer understands, oh this would never happen, this mind control must be powerful. No, they decided to invoke WWII imagery. I don't even need to comment on the White House stuff, I'm sure anyone even remotely aware of politics could tell you why that's a bad idea.
    The entire movie seems like a front to introduce yet another Young Avenger. Which basically all of Phase 4 & 5 have been, either a Young Avenger or Thunderbolt. Speaking of which, they also use it to introduce Red Hulk and come up with a reason to get him in jail so he can join the rogues of the Thunderbolts. (Which frankly looks a lot more entertaining, if for no other reason than it actually has characters who can interact off each other.) Sam like so many other recent protagonists is becoming a side character in his own film. A plot device to get those other pieces to appear.
    The worst part is we already know the same song and dance is coming. Oh the movie failed? "Those bigots sure hate that Sam got the shield." No, they put Sam alone in a movie with nothing significant to do while deliberately making blatant political statements. Bucky or even Steve would be just as disliked in the same scenario. (Tell me Steve thanking Ross for turning himself in would be better from his mouth.) Further, the executives are so incompetent that they have had reshoots more than once because they had a poor plan from the start and lack the willingness or ability to fix it. Personally, I think Sam *should* have the shield because ever since they gave it to him that is all he has been. A shield for Disney to make a grossly over budget, poorly written, unnecessarily political movie. (Following the over budget, slightly better written, unnecessarily political show.)

    • @orlock20
      @orlock20 4 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      The bad writing goes beyond that. The Ant Man series was a flop without the messaging. People like the core characters and nobody in this movie is one.

    • @ThemeParkZilver
      @ThemeParkZilver 4 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@orlock20 As far as I know neither of the first two Ant-Man films lost money. Granted they weren't runaway successes like other MCU films but they weren't losses. Ant-Man 3 on the other hand did have messaging, but not only that, like the rest of Phase 4 & 5 had an absurdly high budget.
      There is nothing wrong with a story about other characters so long as the budget matches. Regardless of if it is a film or TV show, and frankly with how much Disney+ is costing Disney, at least with film they have a chance of getting a profit. Granted, if they feel the need to do stories for minor characters, they probably should include more minor characters at once like Thunderbolts. At least then you have fans of multiple minor characters watching and not just Sam Wilson fans. They split up Captain America's team, Fury was put in Secret Wars/The Marvels, Yelena was put in Hawkeye/Thunderbolts, Bucky was put in Thunderbolts, Sharon Carter is doing who knows what. Could they have done a Rhodes/Wilson team up? Sure, but they have Rhodey in Armor Wars with Riri.
      If nothing else Marvel seems to have forgotten that these movies are plot with future set ups not future set ups with plot. Rather than finding out what is happening with several of the many moving pieces of the MCU, we get another Young Avenger, a set up for Thunderbolts and New Avengers. It's almost funny, Marvel is now doing the very thing that people hated Batman v. Superman for. DC has spent all this time trying to copy Marvel, but now Marvel is copying DC.

Sam Wilson has no connection with the latter two, while Bruce Banner has, especially where Betty is concerned (though it could be awkward trying to explain if there was a falling out with her and Bruce, as he was with Black Widow). Sam Wilson has no superpowers at all and would be killed instantly going up against many of Cap's classic enemies.
    Let's not play dumb here, Anthony Mackie's Falcon was promoted to the role of Captain America as a diversity hire, period. He didn't earn it and it makes no sense otherwise.

      Don't let Disney and their shills distract you. The movie won't fail because Sam has the shield. The movie is going to fail because it's cost is approaching record levels, even without any other obstacles it will need to clear a billion just to break even. Something it will struggle to do because the plot is so awful no one will recommend it or see it twice. (Steve Rogers couldn't save it.) Disney *wants* people to blame Sam and the media will repeat this, that way the incompetent executives that let this happen get to get away consequence free. Bucky & Steve were best friends pre-war and ended up fighting alongside Cap with the Howling Commandoes until Bucky was presumed to have been killed in combat, but was captured by the enemy and successfully experimented on in their attempt to re-create the super soldier formula. After Wakanda deprogrammed and rehabilitated "The White Wolf", Bucky would be the only legit choice to carry the Shield.

    No matter how good the story is, no one can truly replace Steve Rogers as Captain America-he embodies the spirit of the WWII “Greatest Generation” of Americans. That should have been the core message of the story. A narrative that contrasts those values with today’s society-where a corrupt government influences people to undermine the morals, ethics, and beliefs of that era-would resonate deeply.
    As the story concludes, there’s uncertainty about whether America can endure. Then, from behind, we see a figure that resembles Cap. He approaches his shield lying on the ground after a battle, does the signature move to kick it up into his arm, and as the camera zooms out, a red-haired woman stands next to a tall blonde man. It appears to be Steve Rogers and Black Widow from an alternate Earth, choosing to stay on ours, arriving just when they are needed the most.
    This twist would make Captain America 4 a blockbuster, and Captain America 5 a guaranteed hit.

    I've also heard that it's become standard for MCU movies to plan for at least 3 months of reshoots following the 'end' of initial principal photography... I guess they had to start accounting for potentially extensive reshoots in the actor's contracts, to ensure they'd have to be available when things inevitably need to be changed following early test screenings.
    Will it be more difficult for Marvel to secure 'A-List' talent when the actors need to agree to remain available for like TWO YEARS whenever signing onto an MCU project?
    Or I guess some actors don't care, as long as Marvel PAYS them whatever they could expect to earn by booking other jobs over the extended production schedule? I know they're all 'serious artists, but I imagine someone like Anthony Mackie is probably happy not having to worry about landing another job since the whole Captain America 4 debacle started! lol
