"Half naked" is an extreme exaggeration. Even though it might not be common or normalized for men to walk around shirtless, it is very normal. It is especially honorable when the intention is to display discipline and hard work to inspire others to do better, which I believe is his intention. There is nothing inherently sexual about a man's upper body, especially not in the context in which he is displaying it. And women are not remotely struggling with lust as much as men are. That is no surprise, as a main characteristic of someone with high testosterone is that he displays more sex-seeking behavior. Women have 20-30× less testosterone than men, which is why lust is not a serious threat to most women, but definitely to men. I bet you think this comment was really smart, but you really are not proving anything.

Looks as if I’m not the only one who was praying to overcome these urges and discover some answers. It’s 1:15 in the morning, can’t sleep, and got my last day of my freshman year of college tomorrow. Went through a bad breakup last year and I’m still thinking about it these days. Started church, reading scriptures, made so many new friends, and I’m fighting hard to keep that confidence that God gave me. I know this video is meant for men, but I want to thank you for this message as well! As a 30 year old woman who REALLY wants to find their forever person, this really resonates with me, and it’s refreshing to hear this perspective. I’ve put pressure on myself in the past to date and talk to lots of men and use all the dating apps, because that’s what everyone else was doing. I have friends that were having sex on every first date they went on, and would brag about it, as if it were a competition. And while I had NO interest in that, I almost felt like I was wrong for feeling that way because it seemed to be the norm. To those of you who tire of hearing people say that they found a spouse without looking, and yet you are earnestly seeking to have a family and cannot find one; there is oftentimes a reason for that. In the Proverbs, Solomon learns this lesson from his mother: "An excellent wife who can find? She is far more precious than jewels. The heart of her husband trusts in her, and he will have no lack of gain." (Proverbs 31:10-11) The question is a rhetorical one, "an excellent wife who can find?" It means that an individual in their own power will not find or attract the spouse that fears the LORD, the one that God has set aside for them. An amazing picture of this is found in Genesis 24, in the story of Isaac and Rebekah, if you follow the typology of the Bible, it is exactly what was done for us by our Lord Jesus. Follow the picture set aside for us in this surface-level observation: (Abraham: God the Father); (This "unnamed" servant: the Holy Spirit); (Isaac: Jesus Christ); (Rebekah: the Church) [Abraham calls his eldest servant, the one in charge of his household, who we find out in (Gen 15:2) is named Eliezer of Damascus: (HIS NAME IS VERY IMPORTANT, it means "Comforter/Helper". In (John 16:7-15) Jesus states referring to the holy spirit that the Comforter will come and guide us into all truth, he will not speak of himself, but testify of Christ. Which is exactly what Eliezer does in this story, which is why for the purpose of this story, the servant remains unnamed.) This sevant is called to prepare a bride for the son by testing her. First pray for yourselves, that God would prepare you for the many trials of having a spouse, that He would equip you to be ready. For women, pray that God would mold your future husband into a spiritual leader who loves and fears the Lord. For men, that your future wife would be a wonderful Helper who fears and loves the Lord. Though I speak mainly to the boys, that they would grow and become Men of God and pray for themselves and their future spouse (as women oftentime do not need someone to tell them to pray). Then Jesus told his disciples, "If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul? (Matthew 16:24-26) The truth of the matter is, that no matter the circumstances that you may find yourself in, you will find your life when you lay it down.

When I was younger, around 17-20 y.o., I used to be a womanizer and I wondered why I have always found so shallow, money hungry women, that only wanted to party, it was because I was also a shallow man, always texting and hanging out with more than one girl, trying to find love in the clubs. When I went to university, I realised who I was and that I didn't want to be the same person anymore (it was around 2011). I stopped going to clubs, I have found different friends, I started to read more, I started to go to the gym and doing sports and when some girl appeared, I was investing my time only into the one girl, no more "playing with more cards" I started to have longer, more meaningful relationships and 7 years back from now, when I finished uni and started working, I have found my wife. So my advice to younger man is to focus only on one girl at a time, invest your time and energy into a one person and even if it won't work, you learn something new, at least responsibility and commitment which is crucial to a marriage. Even if you end up with broken heart, but as a Victor Frankl (psychiatrist who survived nazi death camps) said - in suffering we grow and learn the most. Wish you all the best. :)

Thank you for posting this. I completely agree with you on this being demonic. I have been struggling for years and have done a good job of controlling myself physically and not engaging in sexual activity. Although I have suffered with lust and temptation to sin despite my faith, my morals and values. It’s made me feel weak that I have these thoughts and urges that I don’t want to act on and still find myself struggling for a little under 2 decades. I’ve prayed, exercised, removed myself from social media and stopped looking at pornography, listening to provocative music, and cut out movies that have sex scenes. I’ve managed to make drastic improvements with these changes. I’m not perfect or a saint, but I’ve been able to improve my quality of life. I just want to be with someone who is willing to make those adjustments in their life as well. I want to focus on God and serving others and enrich my life with my family and friends. Hello Stephanie. One thing that has helped me was fasting from sweets and soda for a few months. By learning how to abstain from sugar, even when the urge was strong, it has become easier for be to resist other temptations as well. I recommend you try it out for a few months if you haven't already. In fact, I will be fasting again now in August-September myself :)

so true, change my entire feel for daily life. had a first love that really gave a taste to higher sexual experience but it was brief. broke up. Since then hasn't been the same. Finally quit porn / keep fantasy to a min. Been self investing with calisthenics, yoga, sunshine, and healthy diet. "Half naked" is an extreme exaggeration.
Even though it might not be common or normalized for men to walk around shirtless, it is very normal. It is especially honorable when the intention is to display discipline and hard work to inspire others to do better, which I believe is his intention.

In the Proverbs, Solomon learns this lesson from his mother: "An excellent wife who can find? She is far more precious than jewels. The question is a rhetorical one, "an excellent wife who can find?" It means that an individual in their own power will not find or attract the spouse that fears the LORD, the one that God has set aside for them.

You see folks, when a man or a woman of God desires a spouse, they pray for these things, and leave it in the hands of the Father, just as Jesus did in the Garden "nevertheless, thy will be done." If there be such a one the Father has laid aside for you, pray that the Holy Spirit would be poured out on them in great measure. First pray for yourselves, that God would prepare you for the many trials of having a spouse, that He would equip you to be ready. For women, pray that God would mold your future husband into a spiritual leader who loves and fears the Lord. For men, that your future wife would be a wonderful Helper who fears and loves the Lord. Though I speak mainly to the boys, that they would grow and become Men of God and pray for themselves and their future spouse (as women oftentime do not need someone to tell them to pray).
Then Jesus told his disciples, "If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul? (Matthew 16:24-26)
The truth of the matter is, that no matter the circumstances that you may find yourself in, you will find your life when you lay it down.

When I was younger, around 17-20 y.o., I used to be a womanizer and I wondered why I have always found so shallow, money hungry women, that only wanted to party, it was because I was also a shallow man, always texting and hanging out with more than one girl, trying to find love in the clubs. When I went to university, I realised who I was and that I didn't want to be the same person anymore (it was around 2011). I stopped going to clubs, I have found different friends, I started to read more, I started to go to the gym and doing sports and when some girl appeared, I was investing my time only into the one girl, no more "playing with more cards" I started to have longer, more meaningful relationships and 7 years back from now, when I finished uni and started working, I have found my wife. So my advice to younger man is to focus only on one girl at a time, invest your time and energy into a one person and even if it won't work, you learn something new, at least responsibility and commitment which is crucial to a marriage. Even if you end up with broken heart, but as a Victor Frankl (psychiatrist who survived nazi death camps) said - in suffering we grow and learn the most. Wish you all the best. :)

I have been struggling for years and have done a good job of controlling myself physically and not engaging in sexual activity. Although I have suffered with lust and temptation to sin despite my faith, my morals and values. It’s made me feel weak that I have these thoughts and urges that I don’t want to act on and still find myself struggling for a little under 2 decades. I’ve prayed, exercised, removed myself from social media and stopped looking at pornography, listening to provocative music, and cut out movies that have sex scenes. I’ve managed to make drastic improvements with these changes. I’m not perfect or a saint, but I’ve been able to improve my quality of life.
I just want to be with someone who is willing to make those adjustments in their life as well.
I want to focus on God and serving others and enrich my life with my family and friends.

Hello Stephanie. One thing that has helped me was fasting from sweets and soda for a few months. By learning how to abstain from sugar, even when the urge was strong, it has become easier for be to resist other temptations as well. I recommend you try it out for a few months if you haven't already. In fact, I will be fasting again now in August-September myself :)
