- Insaf has his test coming up in 2 weeks time in Dundee... and this is his first mock test. He has mainly been learning to drive with family and has also had a few lessons with an instructor.
So today Insaf is in a new car that he's not familiar with, but he does know the area very well.
His driving test is in a completely new area... as he was unable to find anything locally

Bless Insaf, I think he's realised that lessons with an actual Instructor make a world of difference.
I always think learning with a proper instructor is the best. Sometimes when learning with family or friends you can pick up some bad habits.
But that driving with a friend or family makes even more of a difference

@@meredith2803 to be fair i drove with just my dad for 2 months and passed. i think it just depends on who’s teaching if they’re a good teacher they wont GIVE u any bad habits to pick up, well thats my opinion anyways.

It is! I passed October last year and regularly watch Aman (DGN and DSTV as well), its good to get to see little pointers here and there yknow

Watched a lot of your videos and passed my exam yesterday!! Thank you so much Aman. I found your video lessons with students particularly helpful especially the ones on hazards and busy roads. My instructor never talked through how to handle them and shouts at me when asked what to do breaking my motivation and confidence each lesson but I learned A LOT from your channel and i managed to pass. How sad that we have to resort to booking miles away from home _just_ to get a test, I nearly booked one in Manchester before eventually finding a test date in London. Anyway, good luck Insaf hope the journey is worth it and you pass!

@Luckk4 Two ways to book. First which I did is booked it with my driving school, they booked it for me within minutes and then I also paid for them to look for cancellations. Second is to book it yourself and try to do this on Monday at 6AM which is when the test slots are refreshed. Then get an app to look for cancellations once you booked a test
I passed last week and actually just watch these videos in order to remind myself that I’ll never have to do this sh*t again

Failed my 1st test for being in the left lane on a one way street turning right almost identical to Insaf at 15:50 - passed 2nd time as I was constantly looking out for them! Easy to miss when you're concentrating on everything else.

I booked a test on the Isle of Wight with 3 days notice. I was super lucky and ended up getting a test for my local test centre the next day for the week after (although I did lose my IOW test fee). It's so wrong that people are having to resort to booking tests 400 miles away or a ferry away.
He can drive. He just needs to practice more.

I surprised myself learning to drive tbh hadn’t had lessons with an instructor for over 3 months had been driving with family members, I agree with some of the comments here about picking up bad habits I had a load but the day of my driving test they all disappeared and I passed first time.. if your learning with family I recommend watching a TON of videos on here and you should pass. Just remember mirrors signal manoeuvre!!. Good luck to everyone with there tests and learning!
A lot of that was good, but a bit of tidying up and you'll be a great driver Insaf. It was funny that you like Vauxhall Corsas, you almost bashed 2 of them on the drive! I had a Corsa my green machine I miss it. My Son got me a Fiesta it's lovely but it's like a tank compared to the Corsa! Good Luck in Dundee, that's going to be some drive up there, give me a wave as you go past (Peebles) So Aman with explaining the gear changes, was Pam sitting in the back?🙃😇
Good luck insaf just be confident and try get Into the conversation how far away from home you are 😅. I passed with 0 minors 3 weeks ago 100 miles away from home and I even went the wrong way on the test but kept my cool the examiner was impressed as I didn't know the area which I imagined helped with me getting 0 minors

They closed the test centre in my town so I had to book around 40km away. Also had to wait nearly 4 months to get a date so I’ll cry if I fail.

been watching loads of these video to prepare. recently renewed my provisional and got a hankering for a pink card lol. im curious how long i would need as 10 years ago i worked at a car dealership and spent 2 years moving cars about tight spots and parking precisely to display them on the court so ive got the muscle memory down already ive just not really got much time driving on an actual road. maybe 2 minutes total on 2 occasions on a B road in my sisters motor. hopefuly not more than 10 hours.

The speed limit on that road at 9:40 is 30 because there is no speed indicator saying 20 and there is no traffic calming measure (road bumps) or 20 on the actual road
Failed my third driving test today, had to move into the right lane and overtake a camper van on a dual carriageway but was told I should have moved back to the left after when it was clear so failed me - so disappointed because can’t get another test ☹️

How did you fail the others?
I failed three times too. It seems like a lot but when you’re new you’re also really nervous which can easily fail you.
@@ryanathwal8819 first one, went to go on the roundabout and a car was coming so got stopped as soon as I moved off- second test- was a car did a paralell park in front of me no signal and so failed for my reaction (should have beeped, reversed back)
I'm surprised you didn't mark down 3 instances of mounting kerb that I noted!
With the 1st and 2nd instance he was slow and the pavement was low. He lightly went on the kerb but not mount the pavement
With the last attempt I actually braked and stopped and that’s where he got s serious fault

Amaan asked candidate to go straight on third exit. If examiner says straight on probably best to regard that as the layout.

Insaf needs more lessons with a professional instructor. He has the basics though.

15:49 In that situation would an examiner still say turn right when the car is stopped on a left turn lane ? On roundabouts if you are in the wrong lane for a turn and ask for directions they say something around the lines of "do what's safe" and that could be a clue for the learner.
No, do whatever is legal. Wrong directions aren't minors. Changing lanes like he did are.

Not a bad drive, observations to the left at T junctions was a bit suspect, concerned he wasn't looking for pedestrians. I would have asked if he has a physical disability on his left side, he gave a lazy appearance, maybe trying to look cool.
Hitting neutral every time you change gears...😅 this is why prioritising learning from family over an instructor is a bad idea!
I got my driving test in July, I am scared. I think I will fail due to a lot of things and my driver always tells me if I’m doing something I shouldn’t and normally keeps quiet so hopefully I can do good then

Apologies, Aman but you mentioned straight ahead 3rd exit. I thought straight ahead would be 2nd exit, rather than 3rd exit?
I was told that every roundabout has its own character...
Every roundabout is different you can have a right 2nd exit. It’s never fixed depends on the shape and direction of the roundabout. But mostly 2nd exit is straight and 3rd is right

I have a question to all learner drivers. If you drive off you check all your blindspots. Also the one at the pavement. Why do you check that side, as you are not driving that way? 2:47
