Chorus:
Now I taught the weeping willow how to cry cry cry
And I showed the clouds how to cover up a clear blue sky
And the tears that I cried for that woman are going to flood you Big River
Then I'm going to sit right here until I die

I'm French, 18years old but I LOVE those guys and thier music !!
And the harmonica player should be given several awards!
Mikey Raphael, with Willie's band for many years ( or so I've read).
He is awesome with the train whistle sound ❤
He killed that
Probably the greatest concerts I've watched this plenty of times
I'm the first Aboriginal to say this song is good 👍👍
Kris has got to be one of the most simultaneously charismatic and humble men ever
People who dislike this don't have a clue what good music is.
Don't mind them enjoy!
The sound of the whole band is Just fenomenole. grtz from the netherlands
10 year-old daughter: "Dad, if you had a time machine where would you go?"
Me: 1990 to see the Highwaymen for the American Outlaws show at the Nassau Coliseum.
Don’t forget to hit Alice In Chains live at the Moore on the way!!
Same here
Hey man !!!! I second that motion !!!
Good question, Daughter. Excellent reply Dad.
So basically..before you were born dear.
I love how Kris can’t stop smiling. They all knew how legendary they were.
I think it's also being up on stage with them. If you read some of his interviews it kind of comes across like he just considered himself an ascended fan who got to play with his heroes.
marajawana might of had something to do with it 👀 especially in Willie's and Johnny's expressions lmao all legends on stage no way they're sober 😂
Not really I think it's more just because he's enjoying playing music with his friends and making so many people happy at the same time
He cannot believe he made it into a band....
@@alexanderbrown8921 True he definitely considered himself a fan and it shows even though he is a great artist in his own right.
Don't forget Reggie Young! the great guitarist in the back, is one of the stars in this concert.
Reggie was an absolute legend!! 🤟
His skills can never be appreciated enough
He never has missed a note.
I was hoping I wasn't the only one familiar with Reggie. Got his start with Buddy Holly. So did Waylon really.
Reggie probably played on more great recordings than any man alive.
This is a Mt. Rushmore of country talent. I can't get enough of this!
add Merle and thats it :D
I think Mt. Everest!
You just got the Mt. Rushmore seal of approval!
@@davidbatterson4634 ciao David! 🙋♀️😍😘💘🍀
Just love how they each take a turn singing along
It shows the true friendship that these guys all have with each other
Thanks for the HARMONICA 👏❤️
They are just having SO MUCH FUN ...!
and true talent
The scary thing is there will never be musics like this again..
Don’t worry there will I’m a singer songwriter and I’m bringing this kind of music back
@@JR-re3ok Good to hear it. Though I am not a native english my music is kind of it too. Maybe we can collab someday.
J R 1 who are you and when?
Wanda P88 I am a singer songwriter
@@wandap8866 I’m gonna try and bring this music back. Buy singing and playing it. Song writing hasn’t come to me yet
Just brilliant
Harmonica player amazing too
that harmonica solo man 🔥
Mickey Raphael
crazygood
Yes!!! The backup band is very amazing, great musician that made this show great!!!
There will be never be another concert legends like this ever again. Chris and Willer are sadly the only ones left.
If I could pick one concert of all concerts ever played, this would be my choice. The four Kings together. We will never have four giants like these guys anymore.. I love them all and I could listen to there music every second of the day.. Thank God we still have Kris and Willie. RIP Waylon and Johnny..
Just my words!
i agree we will never see legends all together like this ever again. it’s on the line of muhammad ali greatness! rip jrc and waylon
I don’t think these guys realized they made some of the best music of all time. So many legends playing together at one time. Wish I could have seen it!
I’m pretty sure they were very aware. Hence why they made a band together
@@deezytalk2600 I don't think they could fully understand. No one could, it ages as wine.
Literally the four most known outlaw country singers and they dont know how good they are???
Could listen to it from morn till night
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
This has to be one of the best concert of all time, Totally one of the most important. Love this whole show
PartyPatTV Absolutely, I’m sorry I missed them .
Agreed. All 4 are so talented, sounds like a studio album.
Best concert I never went to. Still regret missing it.
YES
You
One of my favorite lines ever: "I met her accidentally in St Paul, Minnesota!" I found that the best people you'll ever meet is always accidentally!
...and probably meant to be!
OMG you just nailed it for me. My fiance and I met by accident close to 2 years ago and not a day passes one of us will say where were you 20 years ago?
Mount Rushmore of country music for sure !!
That just about sums it up, had the privilege of seeing them live in Wembley London 1992, 🇮🇪🍀🇺🇸💚☘️
Without Hank?
Yes!!! Got my attention in the beginning. Absolutely amazing!!! All the musicians in this concert are amazing❤
I'm 22. So sad that I'd never have the chance to see these legends on the stage together.
Love this!
I feel your pain. I'm 26.
its worse because i'm 13 and i would die to see and get to know johnny in the 50's
I saw Waylon six times, Cash once. Never got to see Willie or Kris. Waylon put on one helluva show.
I would gladly draw my Southern drawl to any of these heroes.
I own this on DVD. Play it at least once a week, to remind myself, what country music, really is!!!
Hi Jack, I fully agree with you. Best music I´ve ever heard !
Best ever!
I play this TH-cam playlist at least once a week, often more often. Sigh.
Waw, those backing musicians were something else as well.👏👏👏🎶
The best ever country band in history.
Big River a classic ,made for the Highwaymen .
No, it was written in 50ties by John R CASH. In those times nobody thought at all of the HIGHWAYMEN. / CD
Waylon's such a bad ass. Gotta love him. And all of them.
One of the greatest songs ever
My favorite version of big river
Epic. Big River is probably Johnny Cash's best song and this is possibly the Highwaymen's finest performance. Charisma and star quality, these outlaws had everything, r.i.p. JR and Waylon
Agree. In the closing of this concert DVD (its a must watch btw), Kris Kristofferson says this is one of the best country songs ever written - and i agree. The lyrics are sheer poetry and combined with the insisting travelling rythm, it makes up a legendary piece of work.
Yeah this is top shelf.
Hank Williams, Jr (Johnny's Godson does his Godfather proud with his version on Kindred Spirits.
I wish i would have made it to this concert it was once in a life time 4 greT Legends performing.
Awesome
Being 32 and finding Mr. Cash then following his lead to this group, I missed out on the best era of music. 1960’s - 1990’s.
It's sad we will never be able to see people like Johnny, Elvis, Waylon etc in person like our parents and their parents may have. But this will have to do.
The way they interact with their band shows
true professional respect.
Outstanding
Can you Just imagine being in the Front row of this Concert? Pure Bliss. Probably the Best Concert of all time in my Opinion.
im 50 today & a self proffessed metalhead my whole life. i truly shortchanged myself this is incredible
dale keilen There is so much GREAT music out there. I’m glad you found this. 😁👍
Absolutely amazing.
WOW
TH-cam should add a LOVE button
Micky Raphael- best harmonica player ever not forgetting the rest of the excellent musicians on the stage. Fabulous performance.
Steve Hardin - plays on 'muleskinner blues' with Glen Cambell and Jerry Reed
agree 100% about Mickey. What a true servant of country music. Understated Legend.
their voices ,sure give me goosebumps, the group has not had an equal 30 years later
AND THEY NEVER WILL
@@jayseaem Jay, you are totally right
That harmonica player, wow. Amazing performance
As if the pure talent in this group isn't enough, that harmonica player is the icing on the cake!
dude I was saying this one of the best harmonica solo I seen
The guy is Mickey Raphael
@@TheMattBuckner Yea, he's been with Willie Nelson what, 50 years?
Reggie young is fantastic on the guitar. The whole band is brilliant
Reggie captures the Country music spirit perfectly. Resonates beautifully on that geeetar
And don't forget the harmonica player 😮 to he finishing touch to a great performance
I love the haronica.
I love America! From Italy, 2021
In my opinion this is the best live performance ever, I just love it.
Micky Rafael is fantastic on the harmonica
Kris is just so happy, he never stops smiling and can’t help but singing along
You can tell the respect and love they had for each other. When they preformed Loving her was easier...Waylon claps for Willie guitar solo
@@madonnabrantley9749 They really were like brothers in a way.
Now these are true legends who knew what country music is. Never again will their like be seen
I’m so glad I came across this masterpiece an year ago!
I wish there could be a band like The Highwayman here in Portugal. They were absolutely brilliant.
American country music always 🙌🏻
I wish so much that'd I'd have been able to see these guys live in concert just once. Now it'll never happen, and it makes me so sad deep in my soul.
Same. It 's too bad.
**BEST** concert I and my wife have **EVER** been too!!!!
Hell yes
We got to see them on this tour, but it was in Niagara Falls. I wasn't sure whether they were going to do their individual songs, but as soon as Waylon and Willie broke into Mamas Don't Let Your Babies, I knew it was going to be a once in a lifetime concert. They didn't disappoint. Johnny's voice was cracking throughout the show but he did his best. My then GF wasn't a C and W fan, but she loved the show. You don't need to be a country fan to love them.
@@mlbMike You're a lucky man. Seems to me like it would be the concert of a lifetime, and nothing else could come close.
Best riff for an outro to reintro ✌️
Waylons voice blends with Willies like no other.
Waylon had a lovely voice...maybe it was all that whiskey! Gotta Love him, just a big ole teddy bear.
Did a show with his grandson Way, dudes pretty legit too
@@23Josilee Waylon wasn't a drinker at all. He loved cocaine.
Willie Nelson have probably been old forever
Definitely an old soul
like Patrick Stewart
He was born old 😂😂
Well, he did give up alcohol early and smoked weed instead
Willie will live forever the high life is a good life
The star of this performance is the call-response between the guitar and mouth organ at the end. Perfect!
Country Music at its best! Forever Legends!!
Forever my comfort song
Solid country gold
500th time listening to this
Reggie Young on the guitar and the harmonica player were just super 🎉
The guy on harmonica is Mickey Raphael
He is amazing. One of the best concerts ever.
He has also played with the likes of Elton John, Merle Haggard, Snoop dogg and more!!!
I love the comments on here these guys are amazing i must have watched these vids 1000 times absolutly love country music espesially these guys i love them all kris is like always smiling and singing along they are an amazing group
My heart is bursting from happiness hearing and seeing this for the first time.

The best music ever. How can one be in a bad mood or sad when they hear this? 😃
Railroad Chick , yep it definitely raises one’s spirits.
thanks for your music contry
Once in a lifetime legends playing each other's music. Two are dead and gone. But we get to enjoy until we are dead and gone!!
Legendary!
Kris was just a 'kid' back then!
Not that much of a kid, he's only 6 or 7 years younger than Willie
@@lassefagerli9213 3 younger than Willie.
@@number-77 And a year older than Waylon. 4 years younger than Cash.
What a song, what a performance!!
the best, greatest, always country
These 4 guys were so great together..
Yeah great
Kris is a song write'n KING. Give anything to meet and sit and listen to whatever he had to say.
I like how we get to hear it in a minor key
Best concert ever live of country music. And The band with Reggie Young so .......
Country music can not be better.
I have played it 100 times an more
True greats never see the like ever again.
the power is that everyone is different
Super country man🇨🇿
Wow too bad this era is gone real country ❤
Minune sunteți cei mai buni când ascult muzica asta nu îți mai trebuie nici mincare extraordinar
Beautiful ❤ God bless you all ❤
We are sure going to miss these guys
oh to have seen them in concert 4 greats will never be forgotten
i just can't get this guitar and harmonica duet out of my head
Why there aren’t more likes, I haven’t the slightest. This is golden!
Legendary. The highway man were awesome together and as Individuals. My god the talent on one stage and no egos. Just musicians united and giving their fans great performances. This can never be replicated again !!
I love country music 🎶😍
I was at this concert...these guys made you feel like chugging a beer...and then breaking the bottle on your head
these guys are legends. it’s a shame I was born to late to see them live
You guys are better when your not competing with each other, play for fun like Big River! :)
Legends. They, came back on stage to this same classic, for Sydney Aus.1992.
I love all music but I keep coming back to this, can't help myself.
WOW!!!!!.
