The Greatest to ever do it. He'll never be matched. Also.. Waylon, Willie, Johnny & Kris, the Highwaymen, we'll never see another group that had the heart and talent, they are so Wonderful & the best Ever
My husband of 40 years just passed May 20, 22. He loved Waylon. He use to play this all the time. Also by Jerry Lee. These were his idols. We are(were) 11 years apart. He always said I got a couple more years on you baby. Never be another Waylon and never be another Billy.
Waylon was one of the heroes for us young boys growing up in the 70s. What do these kids have now ? Kanye west ? Harry styles ? They just don’t measure up. And I love all kinds of music. Waylon was one of the greatest singers this country produced.
Waylon, Merle Haggard and George Jones were the best Country Music Singers that God ever gave us the pleasure of listening to ,never will there be anyone remotely close-RIP GUYS
I have gotta say, I ain't one bit afraid to say that I have listened to every singer that's ever been even remotely associated with country music. In my opinion they ain't ever been nor there ever be another one who can hold a candle to that ole boy right there. The Highwaymen will ever be duplicated, it can't be done boys.
I agree. I've been listening to a lot of his live albums in early ish 70's and hes just spot on. He would play 40+ songs in a set and just smash it. Plus, when he's placed into a foursome with three other top performers it quickly becomes apparent hes one of the best.
Amen to that. Sadly, one of his grandchildren, a teenage boy, was killed by a drunk driver, along with his girlfriend, here in my hometown of Grand Prairie, Texas well over 20 years ago. There was a cross immediately put up in the median where they died, but was no sooner put up and it was taken down and I can only guess it was due to his grandfather and the sightseers that would be congesting that particular road. What a damn shame. Either way, anybody that lived and grew up in Grand Prairie at that time will always remember that tragic event and the loss of life of two teenagers that we're just starting their lives. You could only turn left or right coming off of Robinson road onto Pioneer Pkwy, that apparently the illegal immigrant did not know that you could not go straight because there was no road and he just sped right through the light, hitting their car and killing them instantly. It's still saddens me today😅
