Just got a big jug of BL-C2 and I have a bunch of 150 gr bullets , So I appreciate this info
Great topic. I've had great success with IMR-8208 XBR and it's not temperature sensitive like some of the others. I was surprised that CFE223 didn't lose more velocity since it was your slowest powder.
Cfe223 has been surprising me a lot lately. Honestly all the cfe powders I have ever tried are excellent.
Hmmm, cool. Got me thinking...
Im looking for powder for Hammer's Absolute Hunter 150 grain bullet. These powders may be the ticket.
The Absolute Hunter has less material that engraves the lands, thus needing faster powder and having less pressure.
Thank you.
Thank you!!!
That’s cooking for that barrel length. I believe there is pistol data on the 308 so it might be worth looking at if you’re looking for more types of powder. Just a thought. 👍👍
I haven’t seen pistol data, I’ll look around and see if I can find that. Thanks

Every time you shoot that Tavor I get intrigued by how handy it is......
The videos don’t do it justice. You should get your hands on one for sure.
@@thegundungeon you're not helping
Excellent test and results. Appreciate you doing it. I have a 16" Ruger SFAR & a 26" Mod. 700. I haven't run any of my loads over the chronograph with the SFAR yet to compare with the 26". That will be interesting. BL(C)-2 has been good for me with accuracy and velocity over the years. But it has typically shown high ES/SD. Have you seen lower ES/SD in your experience with it or CFE223?
It seems like the SD does better for me just under max loads, opens up at max with BLC2, I haven’t got to mess with the cfe223 much yet but fully intend to soon. I have lots of irons in the fire at the moment with the BCA Grendel upper finally getting back to me and two videos I started with the old upper I can finish now as well as restarting the accuracy testing all over again lol.
@@thegundungeon My limited experience with CFE223 has mixed results in 223/5.56 & 308. It does tend to provide higher than most velocities but the accuracy struggles in some bullet weights. 3 different 50 gr. Bullets were quite poor when other powders were good to excellent. 69 SMK were very similar results. 55gr. Hornady SP are as good as most on accuracy and smoking on velocity. 308 hasn't been exciting in accuracy in anything but velocity is very good if memory serves me. Look forward to more vids. Thank you.
How consistent are these speeds? If you take the same bullet type, shoot it 10 times, what range you get on speeds? Just curious, as a single shot test seems like it could lead to inaccurate conclusions.. assuming there is a decent amount of variability within each bullet type...
I have quite a bit of experience with all but the cfe223 powder in this and you can expect anywhere between 20-25 fps spread pretty typical. These speeds are numbers I would consider a fair representation, had I had anything that caught my attention as off I would have done more shots and averaged.

@@thegundungeon sorry to hear that. I have a similar tattoo for the same reason. We will see them one day again when our time here is done. 🙂
