I honestly prefer my 1911’s over any polymer gun 10 times over on any regular ol’ day. The capacity of the plastic wonder guns may come in handy however, on that really bad day.
Good and entertaining test- the 1911 stacked a couple of doubles on top of each other.
@@pbeardy everyone has their preferences, mine is typically cz lol
I own both the Glock 19 and 1911 and da/sa. I think the real test is shooting offhand and not from a bench. For me any striker fire trigger is a downgrade compared to the lighter trigger of the hammer fired single action
@@BA-hk3ct yep, I mentioned that in the video, how well YOU shoot something is more important than off the bag. This video was just for informational purposes lol
Hi from a diehard colt 1911 45. I know glock is good too. But ill take my colt. I have owned a glock. And i sold it to help pay for another colt. 1911😊
BRILLIANT MOVE!!
Mechanical accuracy, most any pistol will be very good and better than most shooters. The reason people praise the 1911 for accuracy is the excellent trigger. If you reshot this free hand, you may see a tighter group due to less time and effort required to set off the shot.
@@greybeard277 yep, you are correct. If I added my cz 75 stainless I’d do even better as that’s what I have the most practice with.
When im saying Colt 1911. I mean colt. No some cheep remake. My colts have never failed unless bad ammo didnt go bang. My last colts are std gov issue with modern sights. 😊
Like you said its really what the individual can shot the best
Yep lol
I just picked up a SR1911 for my teen son who is going to train with it. He has shot my poly wonders ok. He loved my M9 A1 but money got tight in the winter last year and work was slow so I sold it. He wanted a 1911 and my thinking is that the outstanding trigger will help with fundamentals. He is paying for the gun and ammo so let him get what he wants. Any thoughts on my philosophy of the 1911 over a polymer mainsteam 9?
@@guardianminifarm8005 it’s whatever he decides he likes best. We will always be the weak link when it comes to shooting a handgun, not the gun lol
Probably about right. I detected no glock boy shenanigans...
lol I wouldn’t say I have a bias either way between Glock and 1911’s. Now my cz75… lol 😂
@@thegundungeon ... Cz 75's are sweet. No doubt.
That group won by the 1911. If I could pick where I measure my group I'd be famous. Next time you pit those 2 against each other the 19 might win but not that time.
@@darrelldickerson9696 the 1911 group was a tit bit tighter. Not enough for me to shy away from my philosophy that most off the shelf standard handguns will shoot close to the same lol
As far as accuracy goes, I've had similar experience with my Glock 19 Gen4 and my son's 1911. Irrelevant to the test, but I prefer the Glock simply because I don't like the way the 1911 breaks down.
Where do you get your "tactical rocks"? I see no affiliate link.😉
@@pinballrick6031 custom tactical rocks lol
So a Colt 1911 out of the box with standard sights versus a Glock19 out of the box ... well, you changed the sights... the most complained part of the glock... shot just as good... straight out of the box.
My one 1911 unsupported shoots better either hand or both than my g26, g19, g17, or g22.
Of course it only has 9 rounds and with one spare 8 round mag drags my belt down in equal force as my g17 and 2 spare mags so there's that...
@@Tonys_House sights are different on Glock but I wouldn’t say they improved performance on this kind of comparison. They are more for fast acquisition than target shooting
@thegundungeon in all fairness I hate em too 😆😆😆
@@Tonys_House dove tail protectors is all they are lol
Good results, I'm fine with both sides getting this good of an MOA
Great vid, thanks.
Wait you have one of the worst 1911 makers colts to represent 1911s how old is this colt ?
@@TheRealZJM377 it’s about 2-3 years old. It’s also one of the few outside of Turkish made guns, that is close to the cost of a Glock…
This might be more controversial than a comparisons video TDG... i love BOTH 😂😂😂
@@sparky_-mf2cs lol 😂 some people take it personal 😆
Safety Third!!! 😊
I'm a bit irked that you got a Gen 5 before I did. 😋
@@scubaguy007 lol 😂
What happened to your channel? One of my favorites from way back.
@@curly__3 what ya mean?
@@thegundungeon... Oh dang, i mistook him for ScubaOz. Great gun channel if you've never seen it.
On your video you shot a bulls eye with 1911 but not with glock. You should count points which matter the most. Your points from 1911 are 41 out of 50 and from Glock your scoring is 23 out of 50. At 15 yards 1911 shoot two times better than Glocks. At 25 yards and longer this difference would be even higher. I would guess about 3 folds at 25 yards and 5-6 folds at 50 yards. There are numbers on your targets. Why do you measure groups, instead of points? It’s very clear that 2 shoots from glock 19 you simply missed. I do not think that the conclusion from this video that the accuracy is “ about the same “ it is clearly different.
Group placement can easily be changed with a sight adjustment
@@thegundungeon it is usually done by laser sighter to avoid adjustment by shooters error. Were Glock sights off center? Cause they usually come with well-centered sights. I have been shooting Glocks for years until I tried a Ruger 1911 which clearly showed me that accurate shooting at 25 yards without flyers is possible. I switched from strikers to 1911s and 2011s. Honestly, I do not see that your test proved that accuracy of glock is the same as of 1911. If laser shows that sights are well-centered then your colt shoots better than your glock, any further sight “adjustments” will ruin your shooting skills.
@@6793student nah I installed these so I’m sure they are off a fuzz.
