How much velocity and energy difference you think might come from gas vs bolt gun ?? Maybe a little, maybe a lot, I don’t know, not enough experience on my end, but curious..

I use 310’s and 311’s, both with no issues. The SST’s shoot really well, as do the Speer Hollow Points. The 150 grain Speer Spitzers hit hard. I’ve got the 20 inch Mini Action model in HOWA, and I love it. Great little rifle, but it’s a HOWA, so you’d expect nothing less. I’ve got many HOWA’s, and they’re all good. The synthetic stocks are more than adequate for hunting; just have to torque everything down to spec, and make sure the barrel is completely floating, and you’re in business. The only drama with the 7.62 X 39 is the bottom “metal”; it’s actually plastic, and flimsy plastic at that. It cracked when I was torquing down (55 inch pounds), so I had to purchase an aftermarket MAMBA Mag and bottom metal (actually METAL), and that sorted it out. I’ve got 3 powders that it will shoot, so options abound. It shoots well, and it’s a breeze to carry around. Good vid Mate. I’ve subbed. Cheers from Down Under.

Dont like the inconsistency but remember that sometimes lowering the velocity gets you deeper penetration which is wanted while hunting. Maybe just maybe federal knows what ther doing...a big maybe 😅

You already said it, but I was thinking it right along with you. Case not made for self defense or advertised velocity. Probably do fine on the deer, but only the ones not wearing overalls 😂

Yep. This mirrors my experience with shooting LCP max pistols. My LCP 2 doesn’t have this shooting low problem.

Hmm. I have shot 2 different LCP Max pistols right next to my LCP 2. And I was far more accurate with the LCP 2. The owner of one of the LCP Max pistols and I both had low shots. He sent it back to ruger and they repaired it.

Federal loads 10mm for Federal wrists. FBI load, perhaps? Better off w/ a hot .40 or .45 Gold Dot

Great test as always! It’s hard to find 10mm that’s not loaded at .40 velocities or slightly higher. This would probably be phenomenal at the 1200 or juiced up a bit more. Long barrel deer round 👍. 🇺🇸🇺🇸

I would think the 45acp would be a step up over 9mm because of bullet weight and interia and surrounding tissue damage. But, 9mm pistols have usually more rounds. I would prefer 45acp for home defense and 9mm carry. Don't think you can go wrong with either. GREAT VIDEO!

Compared to a 40 cal it is really hot. 900-950 is typical out of a 200gr. 40. So 1100+ is a good bit better. That would be decent for close in deer with proper shot placement. Thank you. Have a great Independence weekend.

I think the 3.8” barrel is a more realistic test of what this hunting bullet will do in the field. Assuming you’re 10-15’ from gel block? How often are you going to shoot a deer at that distance? Typical pistol hunting distances are 20-50 yards; that bullet is going to slow down the whole way there. Should tear itself apart at 10’ to be acceptable at 20-50 yards. This will make a 40 caliber hole and no more. Aim properly and it will work, but there are way better choices.

Problem is that it's not consistent performance and if it's a hunting round it should drive a straight path. This is trying to do two jobs and can't do one properly

10mm Yes sirrr! Hard to find 10mm properly loaded though but when it's there it's THERE.

Disappointing & inconsistent performance which I've seen before with this loading. As a hunting round I'd like to see 1250 fps and 24+'' of penetration from a 4.5'' barrel. This is easily done when handloading

Considering that most self defense encounters require 1.8 t0 2.1 rounds to stop threat, according to FBI information. 8 rounds should be plenty. But you need to practice hitting your target with 2 to 4 shots.

As for the debate... watched first twenty minutes and changed the channel as the lack of mental acuity of one of the participants was on full display. Policy, I care about policy.
