- Senior DMK leader and Rajya Sabha MP TKS Elangovan said on Monday: "Hindi is the native language in underdeveloped states - what will Hindi do? Hindi will make us all 'shudras'." The BJP has strongly reacted to these remarks, hitting out at the DMK for being 'castiest' and 'divisive'. On tonight's episode of Left, Right and Centre, we ask - was this language necessary, and does this further deepen India's language divide?

When Brahmins moved to South from Gangetic plains, they divided our society into Shudras and Avarnas (present day SC/STs). Not many know that the ruling castes (Land owning castes) of South viz Reddy, Kamma (Nayakas), Velamas, Nairs, Thevar, Gounder, Mudaliars (Tamil-Tulu Vellalars), Gowdas (Vokkaligas) are all Shudras as per Brahmins of South.
Even Rajus of Andhra and Varmas of Kerala are self-proclaimed Kshatriyas. Brahmins never considered them as Kshatriyas!
Komati caste (Traders) is also not considered Dvija caste (Vyashya in this case) by Brahmins of South.
Coming to Mr Elangovan's point, it is pretty clear that after the first Aryan migration (Brahmins) into South, they made us all Shudras. By the same logic, the masses of North with their Hindi chauvinism & mighty numbers will make us "Modern Shudras" aka Second class citizens of a vassal state.

People of Tamil nadu are already being treated as second class citizens, a lot of time thier commitment to this country is being questioned. If we start speaking Hindi we would just cement the above thought, as Hindi will be our foreign tounge and will obviously be ridiculed for it.
Also as per legend, the south has only 2 varnas, bharamins ans sudras. So allowing Hindi with any official status will be like agreeing to this statement. For Hindi and Sanskrit has no distinction when it comes to this point. Hindi is just a step towards Sanskrit imposition.

I am from bihar a north indian state and and partially agreed with dmk mp. now a age the required language which will provide me superiority in every aspect like groth, development and high rank in every position. As he said I shall study hindi only then I shall provide lower grade job only hence we should know the all language which provide me better understanding of how to develop my levels.

Whether you believe it or not, it is the design of brahmins in this country. By insisting and spreading hindi, which is a temporary standby language in the place of sanskrit, they will make sanskrit, the God's language as the primary language of akhand bharat. Then, it will be the vedic period culture, where everybody except brahmins will be defined as sudras. The others may realise these designs later. But periyar had predicted their clandestine moves a century ago. Mark these observations. if the present trend is allowed, this is going to happen in the near future. The present RSS plan is to replace hindi with sanskrit. Beware of this all of you.
Unfortunately that anchor did not understand the context of Mr. Elangovan's statement!!! Before choosing a topic in Tamilnadu politics(which is different from North Indian states politics) the anchor has to understand how the politics works here or at least ask Mr. Rahul Gandhi!!! There is absolutely no reason to make people in Tamil Nadu or other Southern States study Hindi just to satisfy the linguistic arrogance of some leaders from Gujarat and other Hindi-friendly States. Hindi as a language is neither rich nor has a cultural history nor contributes to education, self-development and enhancement of knowledge. Learning English makes sense because it opens out a window to the rest of the world whereas the only window that Hindi opens us out to is the Prime Minister's "Mann Ki Baat" monologues and the inane speeches of the BJP Central Leadership; we can manage without those. Down with Hindi in Tamil Nadu!

Shudra are the most needed as they are the workers, engineers, army personnel and nation builders, vaisyas are essential to do international business to bring wealth to India, politicians are the modern age kshatriya - the most not needed in India are brahmins - they are just 3%. Be happy.

In 1940s there were 700 Vedapatasalas in Tamilnadu. Now only 10 are remaining. Tamil Brahmins are not selected in Tamilnadu Govt Jobs. Sundar Pichai himself did not get a seat in Tamilnadu Engineering College. Where are Brahmins then?. Earlier Dravidians ensured Tamil Brahmins are removed as Trustees from Temples. Classical languages of India with rich heritage are Sanskrit, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Odissi. Other languages including hindi have to develop. Hindi and tamil people have played fraud on all others by sabotaging three language formula after independence.
