The 6D Mk II puts full frame into the hands of many amateurs who otherwise are priced out of the market. Yes I would love to own an EOS R5 but given its price, I'm perfectly content with the 6D Mk II.
You forgot to mention how useful having the flip screen when filming in awkward situations. It’s a great integrated stills photographic camera with reasonable video/ sports features. There are other cameras with better video and sports features.
These af points crowded in the center are phase detection af and are specific to DSLR's. Touch to af works on the entire frame as it is not using phase detect af (dual pixel af), so its basically the same coverage as in modern mirrorless cameras;-)
Recently bought a canon 6d mk2 and couldn't be happier with it! Upgraded from a 2000d and was blown away by the image quality, AF speed, frames rate of 6.5/sec, high iso performance, fully articulating touch screen etc... the limitations that you mentioned are there but usually they won't be a bother to me. Was hesitating between this and the RP and would have actually preferred the RP to get a hold of RF glass, but in my country the RP is actually more expensive!
@@surajshrivas1150 Depending kn what you might need, the answer may vary. I'm mostly a photographer so really not much to complain about. For me, the autofocusing system in the view finder can get annoying at times since the focusing points are all stuck in the middle, but I tend to use live view mode more often so this rarely becomes a problem. Dynamic range is really good and will enough in 99% situations unless you start missing exposure by 3 stops, which I've done maybe once. Then the image gets damaged.
I use the 6dmk2 for airshows and bird photography all the time and have no issues with the auto focusing or where the focus points are. AF back button for focusing and AI Servo for tracking produces best results.
Simple solution to focus is back button focus. Dosnt have to be in the centre! I always use single point focus anyway. Point at where you want focus to be then can move around keeping focus to the side

I own this camera. It's very good as my first ever full frame camera. I'm thinking of upgrading to the EOS R; but I feel I'd be losing a lot of investment $$ if I do that trade-in. Maybe I should just keep the 6D for what it's good at doing, and save up for a second camera that is mirrorless and does 4K.
