@@rutgershouses I believe in the break-in change for sure. Had the 700 mile break in oil change for my ‘23 bronco tested at blackstone….turns out the factory put in a 5w20 instead of the spec 5w30…you never know unless you do it yourself!
Nice to see that the oil filter housing is still metal on your 2024. I am getting a new '24 IS350 AWD F-Sport 3 soon (Canadian spec with the same BBS wheels etc) and will be doing the first oil change at 1000 ~ 1200 miles. Did you notice any debris in the filter on your first oil change?
@@Ragnovald I just swapped my i350 last week for a is500. I like both cars but I wanted the v8 for the power. I ordered a non resonated mid pipe hopefully I get it by next week. It will have the proper v8 sound when I install it.
@@jromero925ify Yep, that's the move right there if you want more power, just throw in the extra 10-15k for a 470 hp NA v8. Congrats on the car, enjoy!
I'm running 5W-30 Motul 8100 Eco-Lite (full synthetic) on my '19 with the same engine, it works great. I looked up the owner manuals for this same car, in different markets (Australia, in this case) and you'll be surprised to know that it can even take 10W-30 if you're in a very hot area. If you're interested to look it up yourself, google for "Lexus Australia Owners Manual", then find the one for "IS-300-IS350-owners-manual-sep-20-current" and go to page 348 and read to page 349. It basically says you can use 0W-20, 5W-20, 5W-30 and 10W-30 in the 2GR-FKS V6 engine. 5W-30 is perfectly fine even down to -25 ~ -30 C, which is really fucking cold, so don't worry about it. So why 0W-20? Because of fuel economy - if hundreds of thousands of cars are filled with lighter weight oil, that's a lot of fuel that was saved and Toyota/Lexus can avoid penalties. Personally speaking, I'll take the little fuel economy hit and use that Motul oil to make sure my engine is running the best stuff all the time.
@@jackcolt6875 45k miles so far. I'm getting a new '24 soon, and will also be using the same Motul 5W-30 after the initial change. Toyota/Lexus changed the spec around 2013 - 2014, just as new EPA regulations were introduced. The 2013 IS350 had the 2GR-FSE, and the 2014 - 2017 IS350 retained the same engine, but the recommendation changed to 0W-20 from 5W-30 between the 2013 - 2014 model years.
@@jackcolt6875 Oh very interesting - when I started looking around in 2019, the M340i came up as a possible option but I was very turned off by the front end (the active grille shutters with all the + symbols on it) and the fact that it was a BMW. People kept hyping up the B58 as being reliable, but I was more concerned about a bunch of other crap like the two electric water pumps for the turbo, the VANOS, timing chain guides made out of BMW plastic, and more. When I ordered a new '24 IS350, I once again had a look at the M340i and still passed on it even though it was 'only' going to be another $7k ~ $8k CAD, I just could not bring myself to believe that it would be reliable for the next 8 - 10 years. Why did you ditch the M340i? Do you think the IS350 is that much slower compared to the BMW?

Du maaaaaa got nothing better to do?! Jk keep it up bro
I’m like you 500 then 1000 those are the most crucial oil change to get rid of the metal particles

You know that square on the cap is 3/8ths so you don't need to buy a oil filter tool, just use a 3/8ths extension and ratchet
Yeah just makes it easier

@@jromero925ify These cars aren't really worth turbo/supercharging price to power output, although there are people that have done that.

04152-YZZA1 or 04152-YZZA5??

why change soo soon? thanks tommy

Just a tip: open the oil cap before you drain it. It’ll drain a lot quicker
