I went from a iS 350 f sport to a RCF and it’s a big difference in my opinion. After adding a Meisterschaft full exhaust it’s just such a fun car . I realized I’ll never be the fastest no matter what car I own so I enjoy that Lexus is so reliable and can do anything from go to the trac to just be a daily .
Yeah a lot of people just focus on the speed of the car rather than the full experience. Lexus is for sure one of the best all around driving experiences especially as far as daily driving goes

I have the '23 IS500 and I really dig it. Quiet and composed when you want it to be, spectacular roar when you step on it, really comfy seats, awesome ride AND great handling at the same time. The Mark Levinson 1800W audio system is unbelievable. It is white with the all-red interior - I really like that two-tone interior, but this isn't a car you can special order and there isn't a whole lot of inventory to choose from. For me, it was either the IS500 or the ES350 Ultra Premium - wasn't really interested in a V6 version of the IS, TBH. It's a shame they stopped making the GSF - that was a superb sedan.
The IS I wound up buying was still on the boat (they make these in Japan, a good sign for quality) when I visited the dealership, so I tested an IS350 - the tester was not very well optioned; the base infotainment was a really big disappointment, and I'm not normally super concerned with those things, as I tend to buy cars and drive them for the long term.
ES 350 F sport is a much better highway car, but the IS 500 is too much fun
Ive been through a 2015 328, 2013 subaru sti, but currently my 2016 is300 f sport awd is the best car ive driven and owned up to date. truly is the best

people hate on the lexus interior but im a simple man with simple taste. I don't like having a thousand buttons everywhere and i like 1 screen. Only gripe I have will be with that garbage transmission that's literally in my 2016 is350 f sport lol. if we had something like a ZF or a DCT or even the one that's in the LC500 it'd be a wrap.
Love the content. Had the same issue between choosing a GS 350 and GS-F. Cars basically look the same except you get the triple beam headlight and of course the V-8 and all the carbon bits with the F. At the end i chose the Gs-F and am glad the i did especially since they are discontinued now.

That’s a upgrade I almost bought a is500 myself all black with red seats, but it was sold the next day so I went with the is350 infared red and I got a cold air intake and I have a tune on it
Now that's a test drive. Usually they want you to go around the block and pull back into the dealer lot. You end up not knowing any more about the car before the drive.

I recently got a 15 rc F used for the v8 fun. Both are great but since 350 and 500 basically the same I went w a 2 door as a weekend car . Looking back I’d would’ve just gotten a used F from the get since 500 weren’t available

The is500 is definitely something you won’t see again. This car will retain its value for sure. I love mine! The is500 definitely has more kick and sound is way better.

I have exactly that color IS500 and interior option. I love it!. Came from a 2019 Mustang GT premium PP1. I think the Lexus is a nicer driver but man, i need to get the exhaust changed out to hear the v8 at start up….

I purchased a new 2023 IS500 sight unseen, never laid eyes on one in person and also have a 2021 Mustang GT Premium PP 6sp man. I will probably sell my mustang once I pick up the Lexus this weekend but I think it’s going to be hard giving up my 6sp and also headers and x pipe with no muffler sounds! The Bazooka exhaust is already on my radar for this car. From a performance standpoint I’m sure it’s as much fun as the mustang is.

Coming out of an ‘08 Acura TL-S after 12 years of ownership, I was afraid of getting into a 350 since they both have the same kind of engine (N.A V6) that they would feel too similar. Now that I have the 500, to me the difference is night and day. And I think suits my personality: I love nostalgia trips, somewhat stuck in my own ways, but also love the occasional extreme spirited driving.

You know I'm pro-Lexus and the IS500 specifically. However in this instance, I do not think it's smart financially to upgrade at this time. It would have been best to go straight from Z's original 3IS 200T to the 3IS 500 instead of going to the 3IS 350. Additionally, there is an insurance premium on the 500 that trends much higher than the 350 with certain companies. Thanks for posting, I'm glad to see the IS500 (...and Lexus in general) get the much deserved air play. The IS500 is not the best sports sedan, but it does everything WELL and is one of the best looking models on the market today.

Agree with the poster. Trading this soon is not a good financial decision. The 350 is still an excellent car and an all wheel drive car which makes it very useful in rain and snow. The 500 is a beast of a car but you will pay for it at the pump and also higher insurance due to the v8. I’d say keep the current 350 for 2-3 years and then trade it in for a 500.
If your girl is happy with the 350 then there is no need to upgrade :)

I remember in your video you said you feel safer that she’s in an AWD car. I think just stick to the V6. They still get up and go and I believe it’s enough power for her. When you guys purchased the other car it seemed like she was satisfied with the features of the 350. I have a 350 RWD and it’s enough power for me and good enough on gas. I think the IS500 is more for car enthusiasts who wanna fix them up.

I would absolutely say the 500 is worth the increase, that V8 isn’t going to break down and will likely be the first car your kids drive when they turn 16. It will just run and run and run. The interior from Lexus could use a bit of an upgrade, its quite dated, but that’s really the only major complaint.

I literally went trough the same scenario when purchasing my is350 this year and I got the same car but without the BBS wheels and a pretty good deal below MSRP out the door.
I was able to test the is500 and I really want to trade it in but I’ll be loosing a lot of money if I do I bet.

It’s kind of the same situation with another favorite car of mine. The Alfa Romeo Giulia QV. Everybody says the handling is awesome, the Ferrari engine is cool blablabla, then they choose a bmw in reality.
I think it’s a big difference between the two. I plan to keep my is500 a long time, so I think it will always be worth the extra money even if I sell it down the road. To me that evens out the extra cost up front
I'm not too sure the IS500 is enough to warrant trading in the IS350 with all the options you have but I do think it would be worth trading in the IS350 for a true F such as the RCF GSF or even the ISF even if they're a little older. The performance is slightly better than the IS500 due to Lexus dumbing down the IS500s power output to keep the actual Fs the faster car and going from the IS350 to an F it'll be a lot more noticable than it did when trying the IS500. The interior also looks and feels a lot better in the Fs because they have alcantara and carbon fiber spread around the cabin as well as those beautiful seats they have. I will say with it being an older car it wont have the updated screen and some of the newer amenities but it's still very worth it. The used market isn't too bad for them either so definitely worth checking it out.

@@hookmasteriii The mpg you get from the 350s definitely beats the V8 cars by a long shot haha. With those V8s the mpg you get really depends on how you drive them. Used to have an RCF and it got 12mpg from having a heavy foot lol. I will say that they can achieve over 30mpg in highway driving as long as you drive like a grandma haha (very hard to do with that V8 taunting you)
They kept the power as the F models. The 500 just doesnt have the full F treatment like upgraded brakes and cooling system compenents to name a few
@@jodypalacois They kept the same power on paper but in the real world the IS500 gets gapped by all of the Fs even with being a good bit lighter than the RCF and GSF. If it was fully outputting the claimed power just like the Fs it should have no problem pulling but it doesn't. I believe they did something with the tuning of the car to make it more sluggish.

Im in the same dilema myself. I have a 22 fully spec’Ed out 350 AWD and am sort of kicking myself for not going the 500 route.. I drove the 500 and while yes it sounds better and has more pick up, I’m not sure it’s worth the depreciation loss and extra $8k of MSRP.
Exactly. For our situation, I like the fact the 350 is AWD for safety, it has PLENTY of power for what it's used for and she drives A LOT, so the extra MPG's don't hurt at all.
