To me i dont care what oil analysis will say i change my oil at 5k no matter what and on turbo engine I wouldn't go over 5k i would probably cut to 4 or 4.5 k.

Steel?? Steel suspension components are trash. 1.) they rust. FAST. 2.) unsprung weight , 3.) cost. Steel is cheaper to use VS aluminum. There’s absolutely zero positive for using steel other than being cheap
Oil filter assembly is exact location like the RX350/450h! Like it! It's even EASIER than the RX models, because the oil container is right next to the filter assembly! Buy your OEM oil filter from the dealer. They are not expensive. And change oil EVERY 5K miles, not 10K miles, as it does not matter what the oil vendor say. 5K religiously. Remember it's about the car NOT the oil.
Since you're using Amsoil, I'd suggest spend more for premium oil filter such as tough guard of ultra synthetic model and not regular. Oil change process is definitely super easy and straight forward!
Could the metal shavings be from the grinder cutting the filter , maybe try using another form of cutting to see the inside of the filter? Just a thought
I know Lexus recommends 10k oil changes but I'd cut them to between 5k and 7500. It's just smart in the long run to have cleaner oil circulating through your motor. Oil is cheap engines are not and neither is the repairing of engines that have leaking head gaskets due to prolonged oil change intervals. I think you are doing well with 25k oil and 10k plus oil filters but I still wouldn't go past 7500 per oil change. It's not that much over the life of the vehicle monetarily speaking, but the peace of mind you'll get knowing you have cleaner oil more frequently is priceless because you are doing so much less damage to that beautiful suv that you just dropped a ton of money on! Just my opinion.
Your opinion is right, I've been an amsoil dealer foe 8 years now and have done hundreds of cars in my shop, very nice seeing how amsoil works in their vehicles since they come back to me for service, very happy with them! European cars that used to burn 3 qts of oil in one interval would only burn about half a qt with amsoil!
technically if you do not plan to keep the car for 5-7+ years, 10K intervals will work. It does not matter what oil you use, every common sense mechanic to takes engines apart and d overhaul engine repair will recommend no more than 5K mile intervals or you can do more occasionally if you have a super long trip from East Coast to West Coast within short period of time you can do that without half way oil change. 10K intervals make oil sludge build up under the piston rings clogging up the grooves preventing rings from moving and you get yourself a problem on cylinder walls that make car consume more oil etc.
Just a suggestion you should really buy the Lexus oil filter. I’ve test from toyota and it’s by far the most superior filter. Besides Walmart has them for $8. You have a 75k vehicle. I wouldn’t have bought a farm even if it was my last choice lol. I’ve worked at toyota Lexus 14 yrs. Retired from automotive doing it 29 yrs
I didn't buy a Fram to save a buck, I got it because there was no others available at the time. I even said that in the video. In 3k miles I'm doing another and already got the oem toyota filter.
I agree 100% and did same on my 2023 Lexus ES300h, Ultra Luxury trim at 1,000 miles and again at 6,000 miles. I also change the poil & filter on our vehicles every 5,000 miles or six-months, whichever occurs first. Why, well just watch "The Motor Oil Geek" on TH-cam and his discussion about why you change the oil & filter in the first 1,000 miles on any new car and at about 5,000 miles thereafter. Expensive? I think it was fairly priced for a daily driver. And please look into amsoil. It's one of the only oils on the market that is a TRUE full synthetic.
I have a buddy who had a 2016 Toyota Highlander Limited Plat with the 2GR V6 motor. He bought the SUV new when it 1st came out, and after the break-in period, he changed the oil to a Royal Purple 0W-20. He faithfully changed the oil every 10k intervals. At 96k, the SUV was involved in an accident, which totaled the SUV, He was ok. He was curious to see how the engine looked internally after using Royal Purple oil all these years. So, his cousin, who is a Toyota Tech, got the motor and tore it down to the bare block. To our SURPRISE 😮, everything internal looked absolutely brand new! Absolutely no wear and tear to any of the metal parts!
I completely agree with the initial oil changes should be soon and often. Those saying not to trust oil analysis and do what my fathers brothers cousin did 30 yrs ago are the same still trusting old wives tales instead of science. Amsoil is a good product. I've been using Schaeffer's with great results. Oil analysis is a tool that not only provides information on the life of the oil but potential issues with your engine.
there's some pretty good videos on oil filters in use. There's a balance between filtration and oil flow. Btw, since you seem to want to go the extra mile for life of the engine etc... take a look at either filtermag or buy some earth magnets that still operate at high temperatues - I got mine from a place in Plano, TX, after looking at the scientific ratings.... anyways, that's one way to increase filtration on the filter without slowing oil flow. Just stick them on one side of the oil filter. It's going to even capture the smaller stuff. They put them in transmission pans, because they work.
I don’t care what the manual say, I still do every 5K on full synthetic and every 3K on regular oil. Even using the best full synthetic, even after every 5K oil change, it’s black as hell. I wouldn’t want to risk it going over 5K miles.
So I've done my tests, been an amsoil dealer for 8 years now and have done HUNDREDS of oil changes, last test I did was on a daily rav4, it only started getting "darker" after 13k miles. We would sample it every 5k and were absolutely amazed with the amsoil signature series oil. Let me know , I can send you some so you can try it before you knock it! :)
I would take a oil sample at 5k and send it in and see if it’s still good to go 10k. O/M have a lot of stipulations that say if you do certain things( that most people do) you should change the oil at 5k
The maintenance guide has a lot of stipulations that actually require you (from Toyota) to change the oil every 5k. Most people fall into these special conditions. Rarely anyone qualifies for the 10k oil change. All you have to do is read the manual, which from watching oil change videos on you tube, none of idiots actually read the owners manual. Also, it states if your vehicle operated in these special conditions IE… tow, stop and go traffic, extended idle, mountain driving, driving in dusty conditions(dirt roads) you should use a higher viscosity oil. READ THE OWNERS MANUAL and quit listening to IDIOTS
I'm jk, but seriously, yes the Manual states to perform scheduled oil and filter replacement every 5,000 miles or 12 months, Whichever comes first. That brings up my question as to why the dealership upon pickup of vehicle mentions SEVERAL times for us NOT to forget that oil change is every 10k miles. That can turn into alot of problems for them down the road. I will continue doing 5k intervals even with my 25k mile amsoil.

I recommend doing braking oil change at 3000 mile then stick to 5 to 6 thousand mile or every 12 month at max and you will be fine specially using synthetic oils

First you put a bottle of oil flush into the engine then run it at idle for 10-15 minute's before dropping the oil. You just voided your warranty mate. You always use genuine parts not from and shit like that. 0W20 is like water it will not protect your engine at all.
I stock cases of amsoil engine flush since I'm a dealer. you do exactly that, idle for 10-15 min then drain. I didn't include that in the video because not everyone recommends it. To each their own, but fram extra gaurd meets and exceeds oem specifications. Again, it's only there for 2-3k

because those low friction piston rings dont like extended oil change...especially on those 0w20, 0w16 engines....

Someone already asked that and I addressed it. I didn't cut it all the way thru with the grinder, used wire cutters at the end.

That's the plan, after 3 oil changes. Engineers prove that until the 3rd flush, there is still break in shavings in the oil.
I wouldn’t run 0w20 in a turbo. Check the Europe spec.

Does Toyota call for a new crush washer or gasket for the oil plug?
Yes. But on 1k miles I reused the gasket. Installed a new one on 5k miles. This is on my wife’s 24 NX350h.

OIL still good, can run another 5000 miles , no problem
Oil analysis came back with lots of metal. Sure can run another 5k but sure wouldn't recommend it!
Ok so gloves would prevent old oil from your skin. You did not pre lube the filter so the engine will start dry
The filter is sideways and the engine won’t dry start there’s oil in the pan and old oil sitting in the little crooks in the engine
