2008 Honda Accord V6 Exhaust | 3rd Cat, Resonator, and Muffler Delete
มุมมอง 1.2K4 ปีที่แล้ว
Filmed on a IPhone 8. I personally don’t like the exhaust because its too loud and raspy. I honestly regret doing it and should have saved up for a proper exhaust setup. But if you plan to do a similar setup, I recommend keeping the main/larger resonator to keep the drone and rasp under control because it can get unbearable sometimes. (This setup used stock exhaust pipe sizing.)

    It sucks how far forward the oil drain is on the 350, I change my oil the same way on my 500 and the oil drain is right at the back of the oil pan so when the cars on an angle like that it drains completely. I did the same thing though first oil change was 1000kms and then 2500kms and just did the 3rd at 5000kms, i plan on going 5k from now on as my oil sample came back really clean on the last one.

    • @gns942
      @gns942 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm running 5W-30 Motul 8100 Eco-Lite (full synthetic) on my '19 with the same engine, it works great. I looked up the owner manuals for this same car, in different markets (Australia, in this case) and you'll be surprised to know that it can even take 10W-30 if you're in a very hot area. If you're interested to look it up yourself, google for "Lexus Australia Owners Manual", then find the one for "IS-300-IS350-owners-manual-sep-20-current" and go to page 348 and read to page 349. It basically says you can use 0W-20, 5W-20, 5W-30 and 10W-30 in the 2GR-FKS V6 engine. 5W-30 is perfectly fine even down to -25 ~ -30 C, which is really fucking cold, so don't worry about it. So why 0W-20? Because of fuel economy - if hundreds of thousands of cars are filled with lighter weight oil, that's a lot of fuel that was saved and Toyota/Lexus can avoid penalties. Personally speaking, I'll take the little fuel economy hit and use that Motul oil to make sure my engine is running the best stuff all the time.

Toyota/Lexus changed the spec around 2013 - 2014, just as new EPA regulations were introduced. The 2013 IS350 had the 2GR-FSE, and the 2014 - 2017 IS350 retained the same engine, but the recommendation changed to 0W-20 from 5W-30 between the 2013 - 2014 model years.

      @@jackcolt6875 Oh very interesting - when I started looking around in 2019, the M340i came up as a possible option but I was very turned off by the front end (the active grille shutters with all the + symbols on it) and the fact that it was a BMW. People kept hyping up the B58 as being reliable, but I was more concerned about a bunch of other crap like the two electric water pumps for the turbo, the VANOS, timing chain guides made out of BMW plastic, and more. When I ordered a new '24 IS350, I once again had a look at the M340i and still passed on it even though it was 'only' going to be another $7k ~ $8k CAD, I just could not bring myself to believe that it would be reliable for the next 8 - 10 years. @@MardollasE9x Thats probs why he left his big resonator. Helps with drone, and keeps it from being raspy. It's probably loud as hell during certain rpm and quieter during others. i imagine its deeper during lower rpms, drones loud as fuck 2k-3k, and sounds amazing 4k-7k. Probably drones between 35-50 mph, and 60-68 mph if you have an auto.. And the big resonator probably helps keep just enough back pressure to keep the check engine light from popping up- prevents it from running too lean.

      No I did not get a check engine light with the 3rd cat delete, and yes I get some pops and burbles. But I recommended keeping the main/larger resonator because it drones pretty bad.
