You are missing a big part about human v eldar. Eldar had gotten most of there tech from the old ones and over 60 million years, where as humanity in just like 50k years got atleast somewhat into that ball park by them selves. Humans also got screwed by there ai going rogue, which probably happened cause they tried to plug an ai into the warp without knowledge about chaos ( thanks for telling anyone about that big E)

  • @jo_ken

11:45 Really weird that Eldrad thinks blanks and the Assassinorum blanks will be the ‘doom of humanity’ like in the grand scheme of things they are probably one of the safest things to be around since you’d have no worries about chaos issues just the sorta null aura they have.
Although I suppose an Eldar would think that with Blanks being that much of a threat to them.

Eldrad doesn't actually think that. He was projecting. He knows blanks absolutely demolishes Eldar and their technology and is incredibly butthurt that Humanity have them, while the Eldar have no counter to them. He's, in the quote, basically shitting himself out of absolute terror and just wants to cuss out whoever is responsible. Yeah something that always bothered me about humanity. The Old Ones created humanity near the end of the War in Heaven, when they were losing the war against the C'tan, Necrons and then finally the Enslavers/Daemons of the Warp. The Old Ones response to a problem was to create a new race to deal with it all and then uplift them. Then point them at their problem and let them solve it. The war ends and humanity was never uplifted. But on its own Humanity out nowhere produces three things no other race has. The most powerful Pysker to have ever lived the EoM, true Immortals (perhaps like the Old Ones immortality) in the Perpetuals and Blanks/Nulls. While at the same time being generally a non-pysker race (though producing small numbers of pyskers since rise modern man 90,000 years ago) is said to be linked incredibly close to the Warp and Gods of Chaos even before numbering in the trillions. Then at end of Horus Hersey we have Eldred saying that Humanity is the bulwark against Chaos not the source of it. All suggesting Humanity was intend to be the Old Ones greatest weapon race/biological weapon. But the War in Heaven ended before they use them. But now millions of years later with fall of Aldari, rise of the Orks, wakening of the Necrons, the spread of Chaos and coming of Tyranids. Suddenly Humanity conveniently is the one force capable of saving all life in the galaxy? Suggesting Humanity is the Old Ones greatest creation, where the falling Eldar meets the rise Ork. Humanity may well be the Old Ones Doomsday weapon.

    • @zeropsaft
      @zeropsaft ปีที่แล้ว +33

That would mean we are the Perfect weapon

    • @BlazeMakesGames
      @BlazeMakesGames ปีที่แล้ว +32

To be fair, I think that the whole reason why Humanity is a seemingly psyker-free race is due to the version of the story of the EoM's creation where all the living psykers of the time sacrificed themselves to combine their souls into him. I think the point of that story is not just to explain the EoM, but also to presumably explain why there are zero psykers in recordered history up to the modern day.
I would assume that It could be possible that say the Eldar could have done something similar (if given motivation to do so and more freedom in their early years of course) to create the Emperor of the Aeldari or whatever and as a result would have had a similar course as humanity where most of them are not psychic but they have one exceptionally powerful leader. And conversely, if Humanity hadn't created the EoM, then psykers would have been much more common in human society and maybe we would have become a similarly purely psychic race as well.
On top of that, The Emperor is already known to have created a number of perpetuals directly, and it's possible that some of those may rarely pass on that gene to further children. So perhaps that aspect as well is simply a result of what humanity did rather than what the Old Ones would have pre-ordained.
So I think that it's more the Blanks that are the most noteworthy members of humanity in this regard, as mentioned in the video. I don't see a reason why humanity would have manifested blanks through their own actions, and it's something that is truly unique to humanity. So perhaps if the Old Ones had kept working with humanity, they would have made Blanks more common

@@BlazeMakesGamesif I remember correctly, The way the afterlife works in 40k is that people are reincarnated. The reason why the shamans decided to all reincarnate into the same body of the EOM is because all of these souls of the cycles in humanity were being devoured after death but before they could be incarnated. The way the perpetual's work is that the soul is reincarnated with all of its knowledge and experiences intact. Thousands of souls are sacrificed to the astronomicon every single day. Could it be that the emperor needs to die in order to be reincarnated stronger than he was before?

Humans are very obviously a balanced middle ground between orks and eldar as they seem to be extremes of conceptual design philsophy where the old ones took a look at their initial creations and decided to combine the best of both aspects while giving humans time to evolve. I think the problem with both the orks and the eldar is that essentially all their greatness was built into them on a pure instinctual level while humanity has to suffer to develop themselves.

  • @johnthecrazedsskull81

I think Humans being the counter of the Eldar works. Although I have a theory the Krorks didn't devolve into Orks, but are part of the Orkoid life cycle which requires the Old Ones to activate. Meaning rebelling Kroks would have to rely on the weaker Orks for reinforcements, while Loyalist Kroks would get Krok reinforcements alongside the Old Ones.

      Bro
      hold up pause.
What is this splice job you just did?
There is no reason to think the old ones were not natural selection creatures just because some of the creatures they made were not, in fact, the reason they went extinct was because they failed their own belief, which was natural selection, which I imagine is what they came from or wanted to hold up..
      See. Though shalt eveolve naturally.
They didn't even determine if it was true, that this was natural.
There creations on the other hand are a different story, but then again, maybe not. all the other life forms that were natural were going extinct.
Humanity was completely natural apparently. In fact, all species might not be fully natural.
And another thing not natural, nore by The Old Ones
      he necrons made blanks
      That's copy and paste.
You are talking aout litterally creating an anti psycher, which did not exist before.
They did more than just modify life, they created something new. No copy and paste. However they did this, it was a miricle. Imagine necron blanks though.
Here's the thing though, they discarded them.
But they have far more powerfull stuff.
In fact sinc ethey held back the warp, they probably develpoed the ability to destroy the eldar.
They already had better than blanks, or they would have kept them as the best anti psycher.
      No.
Humans were not unique, in fact if the necrons made blanks, they probably could just make any species a balnk.
any species could be a blank species if the necron wanted to turn a species into blanks.

Besides, the theory by Majorkill also argued that it's the reason of why Primarch's bodies are powerful albeit only separate vessels crafted by Emperor and some Terran scientists to contain their souls, hence there's limitations to their potency-benching to being hijacked through very specific rituals and timed temptations by chaos gods that they conveniently got from Emperor's horrible treatments to his own Primarch sons
This on top of how not even Emperor on the Golden Throne (let alone other warp entities, chaos gods or non-chaos warp gods) could predicted the returning Primarchs too adds further to this Majorkill theory of how unpredictable yet Destiny-bound Primarchs' potencies are, they're the literal dark Shounen protagonists (main characters) of Warhammer 40K
You could even say that Warp Sanguinius is more powerful under his two-split of Bright Dante and Dark Mephiston sides after too being worshipped by Sanguinius-oriented sects of Imperial cults after 10.000 years makes him separate yet sitting side-by-side from Mythopoeic power-through-belief worships of Emperor within Imperium, there's a lot of potentials to build something completely new for the settings while progressing the stories and existing lore, making ascended Sanguinius twin-souls akin to Metatron to YHWH of Essenes sect of ancient Judaism that separated itself from jewish Rabbis (Saducees and Pharisees) from Judea, although it's emphasises binitarianism and eve heretical ditheism at least from the Nicene Christian condemnation of their whacky arguments of whether Jesus, being human or "God"

The Eldar, the Orks, the Necrons, all are very non-adaptable. They have their ways, and that’s what they do. I don’t think that the Old Ones “created” any race with the exclusion of the Krorks. They just seeded the galaxy with the blueprint for psychic races and waited for evolution to do its course. Once one of the emerging races was advanced enough the Old Ones presented themself to them to give them teaching or to use them as weapons… (I’m still not sold about the Old Ones being the good guys). This would also explain why aeldari, humans and jokaero (and even Orks) are all more or less primates in one way or another, they all developed from the same basic blueprints.

The Old Ones created the Krorks, Jokaro and Eldar. I don’t agree with the this theory of Old Ones creating humans as a weapon. Firstly the Krork being more advanced Orks make better attrition troops than humans. And furthermore, humans blanks are exceedingly rare. And furthermore unlike Orks and Eldar, humans evolved into a psychic race. The Orks and Eldar are inherently psychic. Plus humans (ignoring trans humans and psykers) are much-much less naturally suited to combat than Orks and Eldar.

If the old ones were on the backfoot and the realm of souls was chock-full of human souls, would that allow the old ones to channel said souls into greater and more destructive magics? We would take pressure off the eldar as well, leading to fewer eldar casualties and humabity being the primary fuel in this case. Eldar could strike more freely and use their talents to the fullest. Krork would have their flanks covered and could thusly push deeper into enemy lines, with us bringing up the rear and securing the advance. My head cannon of the Krork 'devolving' is similar to Jurassic Park 'Life always finds a way.' Basically the dinos were supposed to be kept alive by some chemical as a contingency but they mutated to produce it on their own.
Similarly Krorks were reliant on Old Ones for tech and they basically grew them in vats - they couldn't reproduce on their own. They were flash trained to understand tech but not build it and were flash trained strategy . But when the Old Ones disappeared the Krorks were forced to evolve to survive. Kind of like Ogryns. They didn't devolve they merely redistributed skill points - nerfing intelligence to free up more in toughness. The same is true for Krorks - now they could reproduce and even have a society - they now had squigs and gretchin to fill societal roles. Also arguably they could make tech from scrap now and use more of their latent psychic powers. Also there was something about some special mushrooms that buffed orks when they ate them and create sqiggots by feeding special mushrooms. Maybe they contained the chemistry needed to make them Krorks. Maybe they were old one Dinos after all.

Just found your channel and I have to say I love the content. I’m working my way through your backlog. This one kinda goes along with one of my pet theories. I personally think that the reason that humanity in 40k is wasn’t just a left behind projecting of the old ones but was actively sabotaged by the C’tan. If I remember correctly one of the few motives we actually know of theirs during the war in heaven was to keep the old ones from uplifting any more spices. It’s from one of the Necron books, I wanna say infinite and divine. I can’t remember off the top of my head.
This leads into my other point about the pariah gene. It seems like sabotage to me. Either to make the psychic human race implode or uncontrollable by the old ones, maybe both. It would also explain why there are so many variations of humans. It’s why there is only one big E in human history. Something kinda similar to the Genophage from Mass Effect, but instead of reducing numbers it reduced potential. It feels very on brand for humanity to of been able to have saved the galaxy but never could because their potential was stolen from them out of the gate.

While i think the old ones would reasonably have no to very, very, veeeeeery little effect on humans, given they died out millions of years ago. I also know its fiction so that matters little.
My guess is humanity was ment to be an easily adaptable multitool. Every other race in 40k has little to no mutation even after millions of years they are relatively unchanged. With only two exceptions.
First exception being the tau, who intentionally seperated and bred themselves into different subspecies barely diffent enough to count.
And coincidentally enough their partners the kroot, who are more of a band aid force than an actually evolving race. Lose some krorks? Send in the kroot and you have a krork like race to hold till real reinforcements arrive. Same with eldar and any other race.
Now humans, 10k years even without the old ones guidance and you get squats, ratlings, ogryns, fish people, longshanks, plant people and so much more.
But wait! Theres more!!! Who needs a thousands of years when two normal baseline humans can produce a child who's an alpha plus psyker that would make most eldar balk or as you said a pariah that brings terror to all psychics and last but not least fucking perpetuals, immortals capable of returning even if completely disintegrated atom by atom.
I find the idea of the old ones making humans all perpetuals just to spite the necrons hilarious.

  • @adventwolfbane

It is actually more likely the reverse of what you put on the roles of the Kork and Eldar. The Kork would be the main fighting force with the Eldar allowed to use their full psyker potential being the assault force. There was also the gods fighting and the OO would were even more powerful psykers.
As for the Kork reproduction it is almost certain that they had the same growth rate as the orks. The War in Heaven is the kind of conflict that would require that kind of growth and power. The reason they degraded is likely because most if not all the Kork nit captured were killed off. They lost the war afterall and the Necron decided to sleep because when the finished winning there was no one left to rule or fight. But because the Korks and orks grow from spores the battlefields where they died would eventually spawn new life. But these orks no longer had the leadership or direction so would default to their base programming which was fight and win.
And like other said the Eldar never said they beat Age of Technology Humanity. Just that they fought the Men of Iron which the Humans were also fighting.
Even that is likely a lie since the Eldar of that time were too busy trying to create a new God of Excess so rarely interacted with the Humans. And the current Eldar are the dredges and outcasts that ran because they were smart enough to see the writing on the wall. So they are the bitter remnant of the once ruler of the galaxy. A Shadow so broken that even the other fallen remnant Humanity is doing better than them. They would lie to try and maintain their superiority complex to themselves and Humanity.

Are humans really the best option for high reproduction rates. Limited birthing capacity, long gestation/maturation periods, and short fertility windows. Something more insect like would be a better model(Tyranids perhaps).

i think the Emperor, if this theory comes out to be true, wasnt made by "a shamanistic ritual suicide" but instead as the crux and the crowning achievement of humanity by either the last surviving old one or a group of them to help reset the galaxy to zero

    • @Drgunzo616

Or the Emperor was the only successful product of the Old Ones efforts. The Emperor really is the man behind the curtain. In different books he appears as whatever he needs to be depending on the viewer. He speaks telepathically in any language he needs to.
With those abilities who is to know the Emperor's true form or identity? Maybe the Emperor is an Old One? Maybe he's an AI? Does the Emperor even know who he is?

The Eldar weren't the old ones' main line, that was the krorks, the eldar were to fight the C'Tan and the Orks the necron.
Also I'd say there's a lot of "misconceptions"? Confusion? The orks did very much spread like a plague and infighting (some cheeky assassination by the eldar) was what led to their downfall. That's why the necron went in to hibernation, because they understood that they couldn't beat the Krorks by fighting them, they're the ultimate weapon, they got stronger, smarter, bigger, with conflict. So depriving them of said conflict would ultimately be their downfall

I thought the EoM created Humanity because it was his pet project towards the end of the WiH and then was himself recreated by Humanity millennia later. Like that whole Ouroboros thing. You know, it's not always a snake. There are some depicting a dragon.

    Faith is energy in WH40K
Imagine the power of the Old Ones would have if worshiped as a God by humanity.
Humans could primarily be a backup species for production and manufacture (physical and warp stuff)... with the ability to be used cheaper canon fodder than the korks.

Humanity is just one of several hundreds of different races, with different combinations of different abilities, that the Old Ones created in an effort to ensure the highest possibility that there would be something that could take on the Necrontyr.

  • @haraldbredsdorff2699
    @haraldbredsdorff2699 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

My personal head canon, is a bit different.
Yes the old ones (still) created humanity, but they did it to inhabit their souls.
The way the old ones became immortal was not by immortal bodies, because any machine will break down soner or later,
but by having their soul go to a new body after their death.
So they created the humans to inhabit their souls.
Unfortunately for them, the project took to long to really start up, so they had to spend a long time in the waiting room (chaos) and in this time forgot what they used to be before they got their new bodies.
This would explain how humanity was able to create at least 2 out of the 4 chaos gods, without the sacrifice Eldars had to do to bring Slanesh into the real world.
