Autek Mor single-handedly proving kinetic bombardment WORKS in 40k, no one else seems to care bc void shields or something
I think the larger issue is that it basically cracks the planet. It isn't that it doesn't work, but that it leaves the planet unconquerable. In Mors mission, this was a moot concern, but for many others it would leave a planet totally uninhabitable in a way that even the worst of the imperiums weapons (nukes, live eater virus, exterminatis missiles) won't.
It works against insain bezerkers who give next to zero though to defence anyway. Against another wold of similar importance and teck I guess not.

Man I'm not even that much into 40k. I've never painted a figurine, never played a game on the tabletop, haven't played as a space marine on console.... I just love the aesthetic and atmosphere of these videos. I listen to them while I cook. I listen to them driving. I listen to them to fall asleep. Ave Imperator!

They have perhaps been badly written. I have not found them interesting. I did feel the same about the Night Lors till I read Soul Hunter.
What is a good book to read for the world eaters and the iron hands please?

@@Erebusdidnothingwrongish For the Iron Hands during 30k, Meduson: Ultimate Edition has a bunch of good Iron Hands stories. "Riven" and "The Keys of Hel", both of which are about the IH and their tech heresy are some of the best short stories in the entire Horus Heresy imo. And if you're willing to view "Damnation of Pythos" as an independent story it'd also pretty good.
For 40k Iron Hands Eye of Medusa, Voice of Mars and Wrath of Iron are all very underrated.
And for some underrated books for the World Eaters I'd recommend Kharn: Eater of Worlds and Angron: The Red Angel.

Moon was super effective
The OC can tell you who the bad guys are: they're the ones who don't keep proper records.
"Proper records" are an entirely theoretical concept in both 30k and 40k. The simple size, distance, and lack of stable, quantifable data transfer (as most FTL communication is done entirely by a psyker screaming into the void for another psyker to hear) means that, at best, material is quantifable by one, maybe two sources if your lucky.
@@KillerOrca it's even worse than that: they don't scream, they dream at each other. They are sending messages via dreams through a literal realm of nightmares. Astrotelepathy in 40k sucks as a method of superluminal communication, but it's the best they have.
...So the good guys in 40k are the Farsight Enclaves and... the Tyranids? Since they use DNA as a data storage medium and all.
@@jesseberg3271 Ive heard it described as both. As well as being basically direct radio communication, as putting thoughts and feelings into a ball and throwing it into the void, and as dreaming as you mentioned.
It seems to shift depending on whos doing the writing honestly.
Sure record keeping in 30-40k is fundamentally broken.
But the point remains, conserving even this bad record is better than not keeping a record at all or even falsifying it etc.
Keeping a record of ones actions during war, communicates that the party has nothing to hide, even if they have destroyed all evidence contrary to their propaganda.
It is a self imposed moral stance.
Even by 40k standards this takes “there is no kill quite like overkill” to whole another level. Mor made the planet uninhabitable or even settleable for millenniums.
Mor literally broke the planet,just like Abbadon did to Cadia.
Giving new meaning to the phrase, "Rocks Fall, Everybody Dies".
The moon was a 'fail dangerous' to deny the enemy the prize in case Mor failed to retrieve it.

Man, what I love most - more than the note-perfect tone and word choices, more than the evident absolute commitment to doing good work, more even than the unmentioned yet obvious unparalleled absorption and collation of the subject material - is the fact that our man @OculusImperia here doesn't seem to edit away his slip-ups. It's near humanly impossible to read aloud for an hour straight without fumbling a word or its emphasis (I know this because my brother is quite likely the most-recorded man in history) and everyone else clearly 'fixes' their mistakes. The occasional stumble like the one at 29:53 makes the historator feel ten times more real, and by extention, the lore itself.

If one may be so bold as to request, will we be seeing a continuation of the records of the Arks of Omen in the future? While I understand that tales of the benighted days of the Heresy are most important due to their... "withholding" from the wider Imperium, I can't help but feel as though the return of the First Son, the Knight of Caliban, is a record most worthy of documentation.

Yooo. I never even knew about this event or the Guy Autek Mor.... He was really insane. Dude dropped a Moon on a Worldeaters Planet, dude even went down to the very Dregs of Butchery itself and Gave Everybody the Middle Finger and then Dipped out-LEGEND!..Also, this planet sounded Crazy. Like the last planet you would ever want to invade. Those people were so crazy they started shooting the moon with there guns just because they realized it was being used as an attack. Lmfao.
