I just purchased the 55" none glass top variant of the Tresanti standing desk from Costco on an impulse buy as I wanted a standing desk and it has a good rating and was on sale. I am dealing with the issues everyone else is describing such as the placement of the height controls and the placement of the changing pad which neither are ideal but the issue that is causing major concern is the thickness of the desk itself. Previously I was using a folding table while researching different desks and had begun to mount things on the sides of my desk such as my monitor, speakers, and boom arm. Because of how thick the desk is, I can't use any of the mounts because the C-clamp won't fit over the lip of the very thick desk. I wasn't thinking about this and will probably require that I return the desk for something thinner.
Thanks for the comment James. I totally agree with you. Honestly, for most people, the desk is a great deal. But if you want to mount things with c-clamps it’s a bit limiting.
I had this same desk and had a lot of the same concerns. I disliked where the controls were located. I’d regularly bump them while gaming. It was very frustrating to have the desk move unexpectedly while gaming. It was also extremely heavy to move. I’m 5’3” and the desk just didn’t go low enough for me. I ended up selling it. It’s a nice desk, but just didn’t work long term for me.
This is the position I am in. I am also short at 5 ft 8. I have been looking at the uplift desk. However to get it to go lower than the usual desks, you need to go with the commercial frame. So I was looking at the C commercial frame, and the crossbar is annoying in that you can't really slide a short file cabinet underneath without it sticking out. That is extremely annoying. I asked uplift why they did this, the employee said their manager doesn't use the crossbar on theirs. I asked if that was a supportive configuration. He came back and said we always recommend you use the crossbar. So I said to him why would you even recommend me not using it if you recommend it. It's very frustrating because I want a desk without the crossbar that can go as low as 24in with the top on
Great points, I had the Tresanti standing desk as well. The all-black version with a rounded front. They put a wireless charging pad in front of the controls at the top like yours. Lost a lot of space. Went with a MotionWise manager desk, from Costco. Decent price, great sized desk. Felt like buying from Costco was the best spot.
Yeah I'm thinking about getting the same Tresanti desk you're talking about lol but I do dislike the fact that it has a charging pad that sticks out of the desk
I don't think most ppl think about the detail. I was looking for z stand up desk and they talk zbout the inches, but the person modeling the desk, you never know how tall they are. And even when your in the store trying a desk/chair out, it being comfortable for 2 mins is different for something being comfortable for 8+ hours of use
I got a 50 inch manual crank bc its lighter and cheaper than the electric. I don't. Have that much space in my room to put it so I'm going to put casters in so I can move it around
I have this desk and you are on point on everything! Please share the monitor mount setup you have. Have not been able to figure it out because of the frame!
I just bought that desk. The height is fine for me and I have a non standing desk that will be right next where a lot of things (like pictures) can be on that old desk.
Agree with you about the high it does not go as lower some people would need. I installed the keyboard tray now I am enjoying it no more pain in the shoulder. My only complain is that surface size too small .
Thank you for doing this video. It was helpful. I'm just starting my research on standing desks. It would be great if you did something on accessories to these desks, like the best monitor , & cable holders, etc. Thanks.

I was in the market looking for standing desk. I was looking into this one from costco, good thing i have people along to shop with me. I have to step away from this desk because of the framing. I bang my leg to everywhere so this is a no go! Haha
Hi Romy, I have this same desk and am looking for a monitor mount. Can you share the link to the one you have in this video? I am afraid of the glass breaking and yours seems to look good.
God, fantastic video man, really great. Very good points. I've been thinking about the same things you addressed as I look into getting my first standing desk here, but it's great to have someone with some experience confirm what I could only guess at. I can only add that having a desk with a crossbar right now myself, I can confirm that it's a non-issue if it's positioned in the frame in a thoughtful manner - a nice addition at 1.5 feet above the ground and mounted towards the back of the desk - but having enough clearance is key. Thanks for making this video for everyone.
Thanks man appreciate it. And totally agree - the location of the crossbar is so important. It’s one of those things you’d see in a store but never consider 😩
My hight is 170cm and my standing desk is at a astonishing low 61cm when sitting (plus 2,6cm desk top). That's 94cm when standing. So glad I went with a standing desk that supports the correct hight range for me.
Thanks for sharing your electric standing desk experience, Romy!...Currently, looking to purchase the Uplift V2 desk with 72x30 desktop, four legs, four motors and 25 year extended warranty!
Thanks Veera. I got this smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00B21TLQU/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 This desk is super funky with monitor arms. In fact, the arm above doesn't work "out of the box". I had to place a wooden block under the glass surface that would allow the clamp to attach to *something*. It's hard to clamp on the metal rail because it's so thin.
@@romyromes Hey... that sounds really cool, could you please make a video about that? It would be awesome to see the details of how you attached the arm to that standing desk.
There are charts out there that offer guidance on the maximum height your desk top should be based on your height. I'm hesitating to buy this table because it's tempered glass. And I have a dual monitor setup which mounts on the table. Did u have problems mounting it on your table? Do u think it can support dual monitors mounted on it? Sorry for the questions. Thanks
Potentially. My 27 inch Cinema Display is heavier than most 34 inch monitors. That said, you’ll be looking at a rather wide monitor on this desk, so not only will it look huge, but you might not have enough seat-to-monitor depth to feel comfortable. This is all theory tho…
Hey Dragon. Even if you had the right tool to do it, I don't think it'd be a good idea. The desk was specifically designed to use that bar for support. I fear if you cut it off, the desk could break under weight to the left or right.
When told that this table is not going to work means end of conclusion or it’s not the one.. taking it back is one of the options that most people do. Or give it away to a family or friend but the point is that it’s just my opinion.
I just got this desk and i love it but i am thinking about installing a clamp, i see you have a monitor stand/clamp how was that install? i see there is a small air gap from the glass and the rest of the frame and I am afraid that a clamp may affect that. Any information will help. Thank you in advance!
A clamp might shatter the glass? The steel frame is strong enough to drill a bolt on instead of a clamp? If you do, might slide 6 or 10 playing cards between the glass and frame. You can cut the cards to make it look nice.
Hey! I guess I’m not sure why it wouldn’t be? Maybe there’s some difference between world of Warcraft and a racing game with a steering wheel but for what I’ve played I’ve had zero issues
It's funny, I never watched this video before this but earlier in the year there was craze for standing desks. I told them not to buy it because it's pretty much a gimmick. There are uses for the standing desk but very few for the general home office work. You burn a negligible amount of calories when standing, and if you needed to stop sitting, a brisk walk is much better than just standing. You should be taking brisk breaks away from the computer anyways, and standing is not a replacement for this. I've asked over 5 people about how they feel about their standing desk and how much they use it, every single one of them don't use it at all.
Man another TH-cam or that just can’t get to the point as to drag everything out and waste time I wish they would be more considerate of other people time and getting to the point you don’t need to drag on a 30 minute story when you can do the segment in 10 minutes just get to the point no one cares about anything else I just see it time and time again I don’t understand
Great video! Exactly what I had to look for in my own purchases. Key points in this video are necessary for people who stand AND sit. Keep it up
Thanks Shawn! 🙏🏽

When told that this table is not going to work means end of conclusion or it’s not the one.. taking it back is one of the options that most people do. Or give it away to a family or friend but the point is that it’s just my opinion.
Great video
Great video!
Thanks! :)

Thanks for watching!
Thank you great information I am the same height as you and this info is brill.

Which one did you end up getting as a replacement?
An 80 Inch Uplift Desk. Here's my 6 month in review: th-cam.com/video/6dWbysi2_g0/w-d-xo.html
Didn't the frame around the desk hit/pressed your legs?
Yes! 😫
For size, just buy the biggest size that you can fit in whatever space you're working.
Is this desk good for gaming?
Hey! I guess I’m not sure why it wouldn’t be? Maybe there’s some difference between world of Warcraft and a racing game with a steering wheel but for what I’ve played I’ve had zero issues
Thanks, was about to buy this but not now. Will look elsewhere
Where did you get your cupboards ? Looks cool
Where do I show cupboards? Tell me the time stamp and I'll let you know!
@@romyromes 12:12 to 12:15 where the camera is placed on top of it
@@surya95500 Ahhh. This is from Poppin - they have some clean looking stuff! www.poppin.com/White-Stow-3-Drawer-File-Cabinet-102916+%3A+100425.html
Invest in quality TP 😁
the desk tabletop is way too thick
It doesn’t go 29.5 inches wide it goes 47.5 inches wide
they should really put a category "Asian version". for those who need atleast 64' low.
most of this shit are model upon with western average height.
You used speech-to-text for this comment, but you have a good point.
Such a great video. Keep up doing reviews as some of us need some in-depth info before buying some stuff. Great job. ❤️❤️
