Thank you so much, Daniel! I am truly honored that you have such high regard for the game. I really appreciate it and I hope that you enjoy the upcoming expansion as well.
Thanks Daniel for the review. I’m a huge Dawn of the Zed’s fan (own both 2nd and 3rd editions) so it was an instabuy when I noticed Plum Island available online. Still can’t believe I didn’t know anything about it beforehand. Looking forward to playing it soon. I’ve only discovered your channel recently and you have earned yourself a new subscriber. Cheers, Mark
Thank you so much, Mark! I'm glad you found the channel. I haven't played any Dawn of the Zeds, but I may have to change that someday. I hope you enjoy Plum Island when you get it.
@@tabletopforone You have to get 3rd edition Zeds, Daniel. It’s a brilliant game by the same designer. Such a fantastic game. Watch the playthrough by CatWeazke. It’s incredibly entertaining and I guarantee you’ll want the game after watching it!! There’s also good playthroughs by Paul Darcy, Jplay, Box of Delights. Enjoy! Thx again Daniel.
Completely agree about the civilian tokens! Still take the time to look though when cards referencing certain civilians come up. Maybe we can talk Hermann into getting them to update the tokens in the expansion. With so much going on, I don't know how soon I will go from two factions to four. I think I kept all of the individual units abilities in mind in my time with the game but I also haven't played all the factions yet. Still need to give Spirit Island another try to see if it moves onto my list or remains a personal disappointment. Seriously think that The Plum Island Horror will be my top game of the year unless something else amazing comes along. Appreciate your insights into this amazing game!
Oh, that would be awesome if they could update those tokens, but I doubt it will happen due to cost. I'm with you on the number of factions. Two is enough for me. I don't know if I told you this, but I almost sold Spirit Island. The first few plays were disappointing and difficult. I pushed through it though and found a game I loved. It's not for everyone though, so don't feel like you're missing something if you dislike it. I'd rather you enjoy games you enjoy than to try to make an unenjoyable game work. I'm so glad you enjoy Plum Island. Seriously, if we get a game this year that is just as good or better, then it will be an amazing year for solo gaming.
@@tabletopforone I've had other games that I did not enjoy on the first or even second playthrough that became favorites. Most of those were due to who I played it with. Solo gaming is still something I'm figuring out, even though I've been doing it for nearly four years. Everything about Spirit Island indicates that I should enjoy it. The timing was likely the issue. I was having a rough time and was playing games to escape. Both Spirit Island and Boonlake fell flat for me in the same week. I should love Boonlake because I'm a huge Alexander Pfister fan. Definitely want to give both games another go.
Question: If 0:42 is true, does giving the game such high praise have as much weight if it's so common? Suggestion on the tokens, scan the 'good' side of the tokens in a column, write out the reverse text on the scan beside each relevant token. Print: Problem solved, yeah?
I'm not sure how to answer your first question. I suppose it doesn't have much weight? Then again, I don't expect my opinion to carry that much weight. As for the tokens, there are fixes one can do. Since this is a review, I'm offering an opinion on the quality as it is. The faces of them are not unique (they number 1-3), so it may help but not fix the issue. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the review, I've been eyeballing this game for awhile, your taste might be a bit heavy for me. I'll have to get Spirit Island off my shelf of shamertunity. be well.
Is this game similar to Spirit Island? Spirit Island is my number 1 game, and Plum Island seems to have similarities with Spirit Island. Its price is quite high, so I am currently researching more about it. Also, do you have Plum Island tattooed on you like you did with Warfighter ? Thank you for your video.
It's completely different than Spirit Island. The only similarity is that they are both crisis management games. I definitely encourage that research before you buy, as it is costly. Haha, no Plum Island tattoo yet. I still have to get my Spirit Island tattoo first (maybe this year).
Hello. Thank u you for an upload. I’m about to pull the purchasing trigger. How does it stack up against Dawn of Zeds 3rd edition? What’s your personal choice? Thank you for reply in advance.
So tell me...do ya think its good?😂 Yep, it checks off alot of boxes that for me makes a good game. If you only like wargames well, this has more agonizong decisions and wish I woulda done this or thats than most wargames I play. I think folks will realize that the cost versus hours of fun will be worth it. Alot of play in this giant box!
Yeah, it's a decent game 🤣🤣 So much game in that box for sure. I can't wait to see more people enjoying this game. Such a great entry into the solo gaming hobby. Thanks for watching!
Yes, at this point, I have won the last 4 plays and definitely want to up the difficulty. I still think it's one of the best games I've played though, and look forward to my next plays.
Style is very subjective. GMT publishes lots of games, games of many various styles. Are you saying that you feel that those many styles are all hideous? If so, we can agree to disagree.
@@born2bwildne744 It's as subjective as temperature. One man's hot is another one's cold, except, when it is -50°C and you freeze to death. This is clearly ugly objectively with hideous design choices that make it look like it was created with Word 97 clipart or something.
@@born2bwildne744 But I get it, they don't have the budget to pay for graphic design, but I think if they would spend a little bit on quality, more players would hop on board.

Looks a good game but the price is insanely high so it’s an easy no because of that. Will look to pick up 2nd hand perhaps in a year
Sounds like a plan! I hope you can find a good deal later.

Maybe for some of them, but some of the best looking games in my collection are GMT games
